Chicago Cast of Wicked
Ana Gasteyer (Elphaba) Ana Gasteyer is best known for her six seasons on “Saturday Night Live,” where she brought to life such characters as music teacher Bobbi Moughan-Culp, NPR host Margaret Jo, as well as impressions of Martha Stewart and Celine Dion. Gasteyer's theatre credits include the The Rocky Horror Show on Broadway, as well as Off-Broadway productions of Kimberly Akimbo, Roulette, and The Vagina Monologues. Regionally, she played Fanny Brice in Funny Girl (Pittsburgh CLO). She is a Northwestern grad who appeared in Mary Zimmerman's original productions of The Odyssey and The Notebooks of Leonardo DaVinci. Prior to joining “SNL,” she was a member of LA's famed comedy troupe, The Groundlings. Film: "Mean Girls," "What Women Want," "Dick," and "What's the Worst That Could Happen." Other television: "Reefer Madness"; "Frasier"; "Just Shoot Me"; "3rd Rock From The Sun"; "Seinfeld"; "Law and Order". She has also guest hosted "Live with Regis", "The Rosie O'Donnell Show", "The View", and "The Late Late Show." She is featured on the soundtrack of "Reefer Madness," as well as the newly released Actor1s Fund recording of "Hair." Ana continues to perform her musical evening "Let It Rip" around the country.
Kate Reinders (Glinda) comes home to the Midwest directly from Broadway's Good Vibrations. Other Broadway credits include June in the revival of GYPSY starring Bernadette Peters and directed by Sam Mendes, Into the Woods (2002 revival), The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and The Sound of Music (1st National Tour). Favorites are A Year with Frog and Toad (original cast) at Minneapolis Children's theater and Off-Broadway at the New Victory, HAIR at Bay Street Theater, and Nerds at New York Stage and Film. Gene Weygandt (The Wizard) is a three-time Jefferson Award recipient. On Broadway, he created the role of Paul, the bad boyfriend in big: the Musical. Regional: The Music Man, My Old Lady, Taming of the Shrew, Little Me, Me and My Girl, Lend Me a Tenor, Little Shop of Horrors, A Day in Hollywood/etc. Film: The Birdcage, The Babe.
