Kerry Ellis, also from the original London cast of We Will Rock You, has announced on her website that she will take over from Menzel after she departs in January.
Kerry trained at the Laine Theatre Arts.
Since graduating she has performed in My Fair Lady at the Royal National Theatre and Theatre Royal Drury Lane in which she understudied and played Eliza Dolittle on numerous occasions, Magic of the Musicals in which she understudied and went on for Marti Webb, Mary in Merrily We Roll Along and numerous pantomimes for E & B.
Kerry stared as the original Meat, one of the lead characters in London's hit musical "We Will Rock You." She performed the role for two years from the show's opening night and wowed audiences with her solo of No-one But You which for many is the highlight of the show.
Kerry joined the UK 2004 tour of Miss Saigon playing the role of Ellen in July 2004. On 25th June 2005 she joined the cast of Les Mis to play the role of Fantine.
An now she will be joining the London Cast of Wicked after Idina Menzel leaves. Idina will be with the London cast for about 3 months.
