Everyone loves a bit of Disney and what's Disney without the Women Of Disney?

So who's your favourite Disney Heroine?

Is she the main character or not?

Does she get her man in the end?

Is she a Disney Princess?

Is she a strong character, or does she end up the Damsel In Distress?

Is she well-known or not?

Is she typically beautiful?

Share your favourite Heroines =D

Now for mine:

My favourite Disney Heroine isn't from the most popular Disney film... She's Captain Amelia from Treasure Planet =D
Ever since seeing this film she's been my favourite Disney character. I mean she's a strong woman who can take charge and not back down. She's intelligent, unique and fiesty (yes fiesty)
Plus she's voiced by the brilliant Emma Thompson... who is brilliant =D
I'll answer my own questions:

She is not the main character, however she's not really a minor character, she does have a big part to play in the film.
Yes she does get the man in the end... however it's not the typical prince type, she gets the bumbling scientist and it's so KYUTE =D
She is a strong character as I said, but she did need help during the end... although she didn't really accept it without a fight.
She's not really well-known.
I wouldn't say she's typically beautiful (I mean she is part-cat) but I'd say she's beautiful.

So come on people.... share your favourites =D

My favorite Disney heroine is is Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

(IMG:http://i13.tinypic.com/5zftr40.jpg)

I guess you could consider her both a heroine and a damsel in distress; she gives herself to the beast to save her father, but then becomes the damsel in distress, I guess you could say.

She has to find stregth in herself and others around her, and she ends up seeing the good things about the beast, and I really identify with her character arc.

She's not my favorite Disney princess, but she's my favorite heroine (IMG:/smile.gif) .

Belle! She, like the person above me said, is pretty much both a damsel in distress and a strong woman. She is the main character. I wouldn't say she really had a 'man' in the first place, but she did get a good one in the end! (IMG:/smile.gif) She is very beautiful, which is the one thing that everyone admires about her. That's why "it's no wonder why her name is 'Beauty.'" ;-)

Ha.Ha.Ha. Ariel is the best princess ever. I went to Disney World and met her on my 13 birthday and she was like:
Ohmigod! So you're like a teenager now like me! You know, my dad always says that since I'm a teenager I always think that the world revolves around me. BUT IT DOES!!!!"

She's just all, "You know what? Screw this I'm gonna love a human prince and if you have a problem with that then just shut up!!"
Ha. I love her.

I'm stuck between Belle (for all the reasons above and because she loves books, like me) and a heroine who I personally believe does not get enough credit as a Disney Heroine lol.

I personally pick Mulan. Mulan's the main character of the movie and she gets the man in the end (but I haven't seen the sequel). There has been some debate about whether or not she has been a princess or not. She's sometimes shown with the princesses, sometimes not. It's up to the person. I consider her to be extremely strong, and a leader. I don't consider her to be a Damsel in Distress. The only time one sees her "in distress" in the movie was when she was injured. I think she's beautiful and extremely brave.

Pocahontas. She's pro-peace, she dives off cliffs, her best friend is a raccoon and she can talk to a tree.

I love you Nick and think you're a fantastic moderator, so this isnt a dig at you at all..but..I find it funny when people nitpick the Disney version of Pocahontas. How its so historically inaccurate and whatnot (which it is, dont get me wrong). Yeah..its historically and geographically inaccurate, but she is friends with a hummingbird and a raccoon, and there is a talking tree. I dont think they were exactly striving for realism.

It's a Virginia-thing. Ever since we had to read the real story of Pocahontas, everyone here always made fun of the non-existant waterfall. Sort of like making West Virginia jokes, it's our right of passage to poke fun at Disney's Pocahontas. Go figure.

So who's your favourite Disney Heroine? Tinkerbell!
Is she the main character or not? No, but she should be.
Does she get her man in the end? No!
Is she a Disney Princess? Nope, but, again, she should be.
Is she a strong character, or does she end up the Damsel In Distress? She's never a damsel in distress.
Is she well-known or not? Very.
Is she typically beautiful? More "cute" than beautiful.

Forgive my ignorance. Her character is a princess, but that doesn't make her a Disney princess? Do they have some type of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame thing where they only induct certain of them? That's lame.
