Just finished (as in, about five minutes ago) The Inn at the Edge of the World by Alice Thomas Ellis, and now I'm starting The Last Light of the Sun by Guy Gavriel Kay.
The Inn at the Edge of the World is about this group of tourists from England who go to an island off the coast of Scotland during the Christmas holidays because they're sick of Christmas, and while they're there some mysterious things start happening. Like most of Ellis' books, there's not much action and a looot of character development, introspection and stuff like that. I really enjoyed it, as I enjoy most of her books.
The Last Light of the Sun is, from what I gather, sort of an alternative fantasy slash history set in the time of the Vikings. Confusing, yes? Not really. It's set on a continent that is like Europe but not really, hence fantasy, and it takes place during the time of the Vikings, hence history. I read another one of Kay's books, The Lions of Al-Rassan, that takes place on the same continent but in the South, and I reaaally like his style of writing. If you like fantasy and history but can't decide which you like better, Kay is the author for you!

I'm rotating b/w Anthony Rapp's "Without You" (which I own) and Maguire's "Son of a Witch," which is from the library. I am not really getting into SoaW like I did Wicked... I just don't find it as interesting. Hopefully I will get more into it though. Anthony's book is amazing. It makes me cry. It's definitely worth a read for RENT fans and/or Anthony fans.

Whoever stopped reading A Great and Terrible Beauty at ch. 27...WHY!? lol...I loved that book...
The Giver is a BEAUTIFUL book! I read it in 8th grade! I had to read it in class, but I read ahead and finished it in a day.
Jodi Picoult is an awesome author. The sophmores (soon to be juniors) have to read My Sister's Keeper this summer.
I LOVE UGLIES! I love that whole series! I read Uglies and Pretties, I'm waiting for my friend to finish Specials so I can read it!
I am currently reading The Secret Life of Bees, it's my book for summer reading...it's really good so far. My mom tried to make me read it a long time ago, but I didn't feel like it. So now I am! lol.

You know i tried reading the life of Pi and i just couldn't get into it.
I'm currently reading "Wicked: Life and Times of the WW of the West" i decided i should read the book before going to see the show (if i ever make it to chicago to see it).
the last book i tried to read (i can't even remember the name of it) was so crazy i couldn't understand what was even going on (it was some sci-fi/techie novel) it was just my filler book until "wicked" came back to the library anyways.

I just finished The Giver. I didn't HATE IT hate it, but I probably wouldn't read it again ever. it was just a little too weird for my taste, ya know? it's like....there was a really good story in there somewhere, but I couldn't get past the weirdness of it. (I did, however, finish it in 1 day lol)
I also finished reading the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. funny!
and now I'm reading a book called "The Phantom of Manhatten" it's the "sequal" to the POTO.
