-when you get made fun of at work for carrying around your unsigned Wicked playbill
-when the manager won't even try to take said playbill away from even though you are NOT on your break
-when you tell people you know some people have seen Wicked 50+ times.. and say it longingly because you wish you were one of them
-when you can justify seeing Wicked 50+ times to a coworker who says thats crazy
-when you almost forget to turn off your drivethrough headset before you start singing the songs again after taking an order.... almost being the operative word.. but i am fairly certain the customer at the window could hear me loud and clear.
-when a customer sees the playbill in your hand and you strike up on conversation about it
-when you can answer a different customers questions with out pausing for a breath about it.. and gladly do so even though you are on break and really hungry..

You have "despondiary" as a word on the GRE and you chuckle to yourself as you picture Madame Morrible saying it to the Wizard.

I'm totally doing the opposite of this thread's purpose, but I know it's not worth starting a whole new thread for....You Know Your Obession With Wicked is Waning when....you didn't even realize the San Francisco and Sydney productions had closed, and have no idea who most of the tour leads are

I felt so bad looking through the site today and coming to those realizations...I think it's because I haven't seen Wicked in over a year, it's making me lose my passion for the show, lol. Stupid lotto guy, never picking my name anymore

I've seen it on Broadway twice in the past year. I did see it in SF and both on tours though...lol.

When you see ONE sentence from Defying Gravity that has NOTHING whatsoever to do with the song or show and suddenly the song is running through your head. Yep has happened to me on more than one occasion!

You have Wicked dreams. Something about being in some kind of corporate building where androids were taking over. Stephanie J. Block and Megan Hilty were involved somehow. Gotta start going to bed earlier.

^^ I am right there with you. It helped me through losing my grandpa in March. If I felt down; I would listen to the soundtrack or read some of the mail I have received from cast members. ^^
Its funny today talking to some one found out they are a Wicked fan who loves Idina Menzel but has never seen the show live before. Always nice to meet a fan, and remember how you were once there where you hadn't seen the show live yet; but love it already.

I definitely agree with you guys on the positive effect "Wicked" has. It has been such an important part of my life since I first saw it live wayy back in 2004, and it still manages to cast it's magic spell on me today!
Like many people have said throughout the years, the beauty of Wicked is that there is something for everyone to relate to, whether its a particular character (in my case Elphaba, because I've always felt like the "outcast" in my life) or the fact that we know someone in our own lives that reminds us of a particular character (who hasn't had that one ditzy G(a)linda-like friend? LOL) Either way, whether it be the power of the music, story, or the performers themselves who bring the story to life every day/night, "Wicked" is in a class of its own, and its message of friendship, love, and overcoming adversity remains with me "like a handprint on my heart"

I realized I am even more like Elphaba nowadays. I have that sarcastic attitude with everyone, and I am actually now an outcast even in my own family. not because of my looks, because amongst my family we all have that heavy look, with the exception of a few of them, but because of my ambitions to become an actress, amongst other things. for a while I let them get in the way of it, and maybe at the time that was a good thing, but now I have found a way to get into the film business at least. I just had a casting call to go to today to be an extra. lets hope I get picked. its not much, but it pays AND its my foot in the door.

When you've seen the show so many times you kinda hope that this one time Elphaba doesn't fly so that you can see the alternative staging for defying gravity but then knowing that you'd be gutted if she didn't fly coz of all the first-timers in the audience who you feel deserve to see her fly!

When you still have the playbills from the different times you have seen the show.
