I heard that Shoshanna doesn't sign stuff after the show and is pushy with the fans. True? Hilty is supposed to be the polar opposite. Can anyone confirm or debunk this?

Shoshana is a great sport and will sign things for people at the stage door. She doesn't always come out right away, however. And she is becoming a bit tired of the screaming and yelling at her -- after all she only has about 2 weeks left and has been doing it for over a year. She is a wonderful person and she signed for me with smiles and laughter. I think she is like anyone else, sometimes you just have a bad day and don't want to be pulled at in all directions. I can understand that.

Yeah, imagine just getting off from work and being met by a horde of obnoxious, yowling teenagers at the stage door every night XD Obviously that's not everyone, but it happens.

as i've said before....shoshana isn't very nice at the stage door. she REFUSED to let you have pictures taken with her and she only signed peoples playbills who were in the first row which was probably 10 people. a lot of people got REALLY mad. and megan is the polar opposite. she is unbelievably nice and will take pictures with anyone and sign everyones playbill. same with ben. but her attitude is understandable. i mean...80-100 screaming teens waiting for you. eh..it would getting pretty fast.

okay this topic came up on myspace
oh lordy it was mayhem
simply put
you can ask a lot of people and everyone will say something different about sho... ie: sho was super nice to me when she first started ie: sho yelled at her driver to get away in the middle of her year as elphaba
honestly...
people can't all be super happy and enjoy their jobs.. we all knew sho wasn't too fond of being in the cast later on through the year.. this is why she's not renewing her contract..
performers are people and they all have their bad days.. there are few exceptions like stephanie who really try to put their best foot forward but some people just cant, not even for fans.
performers have their lives too.. we cant always expect them to embrace us at stage door..
as much as we want to believe that performers should be a certain way at stage door.. thats who they are. you know?
sad, but true.

:agree: It must get very tiring after a while. If I didn't really feel like meeting fans that night, I would probably exit through another door. Is there another door?

It's against the rules to post an illegal link, I think she must have agreed to be filmed doing that XD haha, that's so cute though

I don't think that link is a problem ... it's not illegal and she obviously knows she was being filmed, so it's not subversive and weird either...?

I thought that links to videos were illegal...any video...

Illegal is copyrighted material, though, standing outside quoting the show isn't illegal XD

I had this discussion before one time with people when I saw Idina do the same thing. Now, the Wicked stage-door is insane. I very rarely stage-door a show, unless I have an actual friend in the show, which happened once in college. I thought about telling Idina that I was teaching her cousin, but when I saw the crowd, I realized that wasn't likely. It was the performance where she was really, but I still feel like, if you can't be nice to the people, go out the other way. I really don't care if someone doesn't want to deal with fans. I paid to see them in Wicked not at the stage door. But, if you're going to do it, do it right. Although, I can understand why Shoshana only took 10 people. That's a lot, and for most shows, that's the entire stage door. It happens.

This is the best thing ever, I tell you! BEST! She is the cutest thing, and she's only five years older than I am--that's crazy!
And about stage-dooring: I certainly appreciate that Steph was nice enough to sign my poster and chat with me for a while (she told me to drive home carefully, LOL), and just from that brief conversation and from reading about when other people met her, I can tell she's either incredibly nice or incredibly patient. Not saying that Shoshana or Idina aren't, but you have to be that kind of person to face the crowd at the Gershwin and not get completely frazzled. I can't say I blame either of them for being a bit cold to fans--because, even though you ask very nicely for them to sign your stuff, there's always someone a few feet down from you who's screaming his or her head off!

I've seen Shoshana at the stage door a bunch of times, and not once has she said no to signing something. She takes pictures with everyone who asks, and she's not mean at all.
They all have good days and bad days. If it's a really bad day, they just go out another door.

I saw Shoshana two weeks ago. It was about 5 degrees and was during the transit stike. She signed everyone's playbills and posters and didn't take any pictures though. We went back after the matinee and she was a lot nicer. She took pictures (if you asked)and made sure every one got it signed. There were a lot less people at the stage door after the matinee on Wed. then after the Tuesday performance. After the matinee, only David, Shoshana, and Megan came out. The security guard said that Rue never comes out. Ben would talk to all the little kids and asked them how they liked the show. Everyone was nice though.

I know that I'm not here very much, but I have to add my two cents.
I just got back from NYC at about 3:00 this morning. I was at Wicked stage door both Monday and Tuesday night. Now, Monday night it was absolutely freezing, but Megan came out and I called her name (I didn't scream, I swear) and she turned around and looked right at me and flashed this big smile. So, her car was waiting right next to where me and my best friend were standing and she started to dig through her purse and couldn't find her sharpie. So, we told her we had our own sharpies and she said, "But mine's pink!" And then she walked down to start signing at the other end of the line, but reassured us she would be right back! She was sooo cute! And when she got back to us she "oooo"ed at our Grimmeries and we asked if we could take a picture and she just beamed and said, "Of course!"
Then Shoshana came out. Now, she did sign and agree to take a picture, but she walked away as soon as the camera began to flash, so by the time the picture actually took my face was right in front of her head. And she just didn't look happy to be there at all. Of course, I understand that everyone has bad days. I'm not trying to be judgmental, but I was disappointed that she wasn't very friendly.
Fast forward to Tuesday night: I didn't bother to try to get Sho's autograph again. We actually saw the show that night. And Sho was utterly amazing as Elphaba! I absolutely adored her onstage, so I don't want anyone to get the impression that I'm trying to be a Sho hater. So, we went out to stage door and waited for Megan to come out again. She kind of did a double take when she saw us, but still graciously signed our book again (this time in pink because it turned out on Monday she only had a black sharpie), on a different page of course. And she took another picture!! Well, my digital camera froze right as my mom was snapping the picture. And Megan went, "Oh no! If you get it fixed, come get me!" So, we did get it fixed and my mom went down the line to where Megan was, waited for her to finish an autograph and then said, "Megan, we got the camera fixed." And Megan stopped right where she was and ran back over to me and my friend and said, "Oh good, let's do this!" It was all such an amazing experience!
Ben did not perform either Monday or Tuesday, so unfortunately we didn't get to meet him. But Sean McCourt was also incredibly kind and gracious, as were Robb Sapp and David! Oh, and I also got a picture and autograph from Chris, "The Stage Door Guy." He was really cool! We made friends with him those two nights and he actually liked us! HAHA

Well, a friend of mine saw Wicked this past summer and did say Shoshana acted kinda snobbish...like she wouldnt let fans get pics with her, nor would she sign more than like 7-12 peoples playbills... what's wrong with this? She's loosing her equillibrum (sp) that green pain sinked in her cerebum! (LOL thanks to WICKEDER for that quote)
