across the main entrance of the Gersh, follow the brickwall out to the main road. *not towards the Spelling Bee Theatre* You'll see a sign that says "Stage Door"

ok....the gershwin has this walk-way going through the center of the theater. if you are on the 50th St. side you will be facing the theatre. it's in the Cirle in a Square center area thing. i know this is really confusing...but all i did was look for a large group of people outside of the theatre. but the wall is black pianted wood. and there is a sign that says STAGE DOOR in little white lights. wait! i know how to get there now. when you are exiting the theater try to get to the right side doors. then cross the little walk way/ street that lies under the theatre to the sidewalk. then you're there. got any questions? :ha:

The stage door is pretty cool. I love the way they have the Gershwin set up. Have you ever been inside? It has a map of Oz in the theater. It's great! The sound board is pretty cool too. (If there are any techies on this site...)

It wasn't really the tech booth. It was just the sound board. The light board was in a completly different spot. When I went I got to see dressing rooms, lounge, costume repair, costume room, sound booth, backstage, on stage (with the curtain closed of course...and it was the Wicked one with the map...), and I got to sit up with the Stage Manager in her itty-bitty "booth". She's the one that got me in, too. She's was really nice.

The stage door is cool, it doesn't even seem like it's apart of the Gershwin. If I can remember correctly this is how u get to the stage door. Stand right in front of the doors going inside the theatre, turn around and walk down the sidewalk past the little driveway thingy next to the doors. Then look to your left and it says Stage Door. Help me out New York people am I right? I haven't been there since January.
My experiences, it can be described in one word, insane. OK first off my stage door experiences were pretty limited up until then. That day and the night before I saw BKLYN, and those of you who saw that know what the stage door was like, not very crowded, small. I mean come on my mom and I walked down the street talking to Eden till we got to our hotel. But let's just say I wasn't ready for the Gershwin stage door. I literally ran out of the theatre after the curtain call. When I got there it was crowded, and it didn't help that it was raining. I was there when Idina, Jen, Joey, Joel, and Carole were still all there so it was pretty crazy. I don't know if it has changed since. But basically if your not in front wen someone comes out, just stick your playbill or whatever out as far as possible and pray that someone signs it. I did just that and I got Jen, Idina, and Joey's autograph. Good luck. I would reccomendgoing to the stage door a couple hours before the matinee, so that way you see them before the show instead of after. Usually no one is there and you usually gt to talk with them for a while.

I am not that interested in autographs. I have the main cast members autographs from what I got in the mail...I really just want pictures with them! But I am dying for Katie and Brandi's autograph!!!

It's so cool walking out....and the people think you were in the show and ask for your autograph....but then, the security guard has to ruin it by telling them the truth.

did anyone else think that the lobby of the gershwin theater was hidious? it looked like 60's sci-fi. i was thinking it would look more wicked-ish but all it had was those green ice lights wrapping the counter/ un-used bar thing. once you get in the auditorium it is amazing! i just stopped and looked for 10 minutes. how they have those rapters hanging above you. and those industrial lights on the balcony. oh what i would give to go again. :-(
