You know at the end of the opening song, they have that shadow of a witch on the back clock thing?? I don't know about you but I don't really like it, I just thought I would say somthing about it....lol :mrgreen:

It doesn't "show she's still alive", it's just referencing to who they are singing about. It's one of my favorite parts, too!

i thought it was referring to the puppets in the actual novel (time clock dragon)? like it shows the destiny of the person, and elphaba kind of looks like she's melting behind the curtain? just a thought.

It is one of the best moments in the show. I think the best part of it is on the last movement when she's moving both arms up...it kind of looks like she's laughing/being evil because that's how the citizens of Oz view her.

I noticed that when the shadow's arms go up, Kristin would also raise her arms up. Anyone else see that, or was it just me?

I love that part! It is powerful because they have been singing about the "witch" for 10 minutes and we haven't seen her, then we see that iconic image on the screen.

i third that, but everyone has their own opinion.

I love that shadow!! I remember when i first saw it i got goose bumps on my arms.

I love the shadow. I don't know if it means she's still alive, but to me it signifies that the shadow has a story to tell and that it isn't all so cut and dry. :rock:

I personally love the shadow too! I think it adds so much more to NOMTW.
