My friend said he was at his dance studio and it's a studio where different teachers come in and teach for certain things. Well he said that one of his teachers from NY said he had been called to go start choreographying (I know I just butchered that word haha) for The Son Of The Witch Musical. Does anyone know any details about this? I don't think my friend was lying but maybe the teacher??? Also what would you guys think of it, if it became a musical?

I read somewhere about it possibly being made into a musical but I can't remember where so I don't know if it's really true or not.

I hope not. That would kinda be like having Lion King 2, 3 and 1 1/2 on Broadway at the same time...
weird...

It took a lot for Maguire to say yes to Wicked, I wouldnt have thought he'd say yes to another, certainly not this soon. In 10yrs or so maybe. There's no point spending $millions on a second production when the first is still selling out!
Plus, sequels have such a BAD history record. They can never be as good as the original!

Yea, I agree, why do another one when Wicked is still doing SO great?

You're all overlooking the fact that in the musical version Elphaba does not give birth to Liir.
This would be comparable to making a musical of Star Wars Episode III in which the twins aren't born...and then going and making a musical of Episode IV.
Don't even think about arguing the point.

Good point. If they do and Liir is born at the beginning, wouldn't he be half hay?
Ben

I suppose, but that would be just as dumb, lol. And why did you put 'hay' in small, teal letters at the end of the question?

Oh my GOODNESS, someone's been reading fanfiction! j/k... LOL!
I really don't think they should make a musical out of it, due to the whole Liir-not-being-in-the-musical thing. I'm holding out for a movie (!) or at least a concert film of the show.
That's something I'd pay to see!

well, in the book they do get it on. :ha:
she's right. you don't know what happened during and after that song. or before she left to Nessa's aid. :humpy:

I personally, for some strange reason, feel that that song is supposed to represent them having sex. Maybe it's because they do in the book, I don't know.

There shouldn't be a sequel. There wasn't a sequel for the Wizard of Oz. It would break the trend.

Think about this. For those of you that have watched all the interviews that Idina did during her stint as Elphaba what was it she said about this experience? She said how amazing it was to be a part of it from the very begining. And they started working on it over three years befor it started in San Francisco. So if they are just now starting to talk about a Son of A Witch musical you have to expect that we have a wate of at least four years befor it opens.
I think if they did a sequal that they would have to pick up right where wicked left off or even befor the hole melting incedent. Maybe even as early in the time line as "As Long As Your Mine". I think that is a little to much backtracking to work. But it's just my opinion.

If you look at the lyrics of ALAYM you'll see
"Lying beside you with you wanting me"
"I've lost all resistance and crossed some boarderline"
"I'll make every last moment to last"
"I'll wake up my body and make up for lost time."
"Come be how you want to and see how bright we shine, borrow the moonlight until it is through and now I'll be here holding you as long as you're mine"
:ha: so you can see the sex bit of it. Kind of like Point of No Return from Phantom. :ha:

If you don't mind me stating, it would be odd to have Son of a Witch be a musical. There really are no ties to link the musical with SOAW (besides those few lines in ALAYM). Plus Fiyero would have to be turned back into a man... (too may fanfics...)

In the first one, if im not mistaken, elphaba thinks he is. In Son of a witch, yes, he is.

They should not make it into a musical. I dont know of any musicals that have a sequel. It would just ruin everything, esp when Wicked is soooo POPULAR! hehe!
