Anybody hear about the Shoshana's little incident with her cigarett? it pkays up to her being a bad sport. I ran into a friend of mine today and we started talking about Wicked, she said she's seeing Eden this march I was like "aww edens much better than sho" and she said when she was nyc this past summer ) I think summer) after a showing of Wicked Shoshana ran out to her car, wouldnt sign anything, so a few girls followed and asked her, Shoshana lit up a cig, and flicked ahses on them then drove off.. HOW RUDE! Oh well, "now at last shes (not dead) but gone, now at last there's joy throughout the land" LOL I was just wondering if anybody else heard of this incident?

I wouldn't think Sho would be a smoker. It really ruins your voice. Believe me, my mom used to sing a lot and she was a soprano, she smokes and now she has no range at all. And that sounds just really unlike Sho... I know I'm not her biggest fan but I really don't think she'd do that...

Isn't she notorious for having a trucker mouth too? I never really liked Sho that much. Don't kill me Sho fans.

yeah...i think that's a rumor. she doesn't have a car first of all (my old principal ran into her on a subway after he saw her perform) and she doesn't seem like the kind of person who smokes. she's smart. she knows that's bad or your voice...especially if she wants to do a solo album.

I dunno, I mean they where in a group so more than one person saw it. I wouldnt put it past her. I have another freind who was in a arts camp they went up to see wicked like last may, and he said she was kinda cocky. I mean..what's her prob. she isnt THAT good.. Idina needs to teach her lesson, and not so much perosnally, but vocally too LOL

I wouldn't be surprised if she just refused to give autographs because we all have our days that we just don't want to deal with people. Although it might make the fans mad, I think she's allowed to just take a break from that stuff. Someone probably got mad and started the rumor. I don't think they should've even followed her. It's kinda rude.

Listen, while I may not like Shoshana as Elphaba, I think she's a funny person who treats her fans (the respectful ones) very well. She's not obligated to sign ANYTHING, especially not for people who follow her or pester her. Idina isn't either, for that matter, or Kendra or any of those people fans call "rude" because they wouldn't sign anything. Sure, lots of stars will sign things for you, and some of them like Stephanie J. Block go out of their way to make fans happy, but you shouldn't expect that as the rule.

I can understand her not wanting to sign stuff, she doesn't have to (as someone said earlier), but throwing ashes at fans (which i dont really believe happened) is kinda uncalled for. She should be happy that so many people like her. I dunno.

You shouldn't believe everything you hear, and you shouldn't hold it against her, especially when it's just a rumor.

I've heard some bad things about Shoshana, but I've also read those journals and the vid she made, and I don't think someone who is willing to spend time to interact with her fans on the internet would just blow them off in person.

The only way i'd believe that is if I saw it myself, or she admitted it. You really have to think about who these rumors effect, and if Shoshana were to see a rumor about her that wasn't true.

Hey guys, not to fan the flames or anything, but this was Idina, not Sho. The summer before last summer, Idina stopped signing and SD after she won her Tony because the teen girls were getting crazy. The actual incident is mentioned on So Beautiful, an Idina fansite. I don't think Idina did it on purpose though, but some of the girls who witnessed Idina do that found it hilarious against the screaming teen girls. Idina's a social smoker, but I'm about 100% sure that Sho doesn't smoke. I hope this clears it up!

It seems people think I've said she "did" do this. people I'm just the same as you I said I heard she did it, and was curious of anyone else did. No one is obligated to sign anything but they should definately make an effort to sign for at least a few. People pay lots of money to go watch these shows and if there were no audience, then there would be no point to having the show. The stars of the show could at least extend the courtesy of greeting the fans and signing some autographs, even if they only do it for 5 minutes. I realize that they are tired, but its just courtesy. Five minutes will not kill them.

Nah, I was in that mad chat with Sho a while back and she's got a great sense of humour. So if she's saying she doesn't want to be bothered, it probably means she's really, genuinely not in the mood.

There was an actor recently (not Wicked related) that, in a story that I read online, was filming on location and agreed to sign autographs for every one present as long as there was no shoving or pushing by them. One person, after a minutes, try to force her way to the front of the line and the actor in question stopping signing autographs and left, just because of that person.

The actors are very nice people generally and try to accommodate as much as they can. But, there are going to be days when they feel bad or they have to get somewhere else immediately and just can't accommodate.

This is so annoying. I hate people who aren't courteous to the performers and act like freaks, for example stalking people to their car and then when they don't get their way, start untrue rumors. I've heard bad things about Idina AND Kristin and don't believe a word of it. For awhile Kristin wouldn't come out and sign and there were all sorts of nutty rumors about that. Be grateful when someone takes the time to be kind to you and if they don't don't. Eh, big whoop life goes on.

I agree that smoking is awful, but I don't think Idina should be looked down on for it. She probably started when she was young and got addicted. Just because she has a very bad habit doesn't make her a bad person.

my opinion bottom line: i don't like sho's voice very much...but her riffs are godly and that's y i like her...nobody who smokes could RIFF like her! :drink:

But, this isn't a rumor, Idina smokes socailly...

the rumor isn't just that Shoshana/Idina (I'm not quite sure anymore, which proves it is a stupid rumor) smokes, it's that she flicked ashes at her fans when they tried to get her autograph.

And another thing about rumors, guys....you have to think about who else it effects. Not only the actresses, but people look up to Shoshana and Idina as role models, and if you tell them they're role models are bad sports, they're going to feel like they have no one to look up to. We all know no ones perfect, but by saying someones role model sucks, it kinda makes the person feel sucky too. Like they chose a bad role model or something.

Well, what I think happened was this, because I don't think Idina is a mean person............I think the stalkers, er, sorry, fans, got too close to the car and Idina went to flick her ashes and it got on someone. Stuff like that happens in life all the time, it's called an accident. There should have been bodyguards there or whatever to prevent people from getting that close to her car to begin with. Someone could have gotten seriously hurt. Dang, give people some space, why don't you?

Lemme give an example, this is kind of gross, there was an old guy that lived across the street from we used to go visit all the time and he chewed tobacco and spit it out, yuk. Anyway, there was another lady there with her little toddler. Well, the toddler started wondering about and got off the porch, and the old man went to spit over the porch railing aaaaaaaaaaaaand little toddler was right in the line of fire. Nasty chewed up tobacco all over the top of his head. So did the old guy purposefully spit on the toddler? No. Poor kid just got in the way. It happens.

People need to give all of them a rest! They are there sweating 8x a week to make us happy (granted they make good money doing it). Their job doesn't say they should sign autographs. How would you like have not being able to go anywhere without a million people wanting to talk to you. Btw, just as a point of information, you won't notice the effects of smoking on the voice until years later. So, it could be either, but since Sho does keep in contact with some fans, if people are saying she doesn't she probably doesn't. As far as Idina's concerned, I don't know. But, it wouldn't affect Sho's ability to riff, not when she's this young. It would be more likely to affect Idina b/c she's more of a belter, but even still, they're both kind of young to hear it (although, again less so for Idina).
