I was reading the edition of USA Weekend edition and a woman asked the question
"My daughter loved the Broadway show "WICKED." I read the book and saw the show. When will the story be made into a movie?"
And the answer was:
" There could be two movies. But not anytime soon. Universal, which produces the musical, also owns the rights to adapt a musical for the big screen. ABC owns the rights to adapt the non musical book version. Author Gregory Maguire tells us, "The Play continues to be thrilling enough, so I am willing to wait."
It looks as though we may be havind double WICKED in the future. YAY!!! So people who were against the book version I guess might be pleased, and people agains the musical version might be happy. I will be happy if they make just the musical version. But I will be even more pleased with the book also!

Honestly, I think they should wait to make a movie, or two movies. The play is doing so well in all four, almost five productions. They need to milk the play for more money, if that is possible, before making a movie. Once a movie is made, yea true fans will continue to see the show, but regular people will just watch the movie instead of seeing the show.

Def. they are not making a movie for probebly 10 years. Maybe within the next 5 years they will start considering but right now the show is FAR to young. But after they make it I dont think it will effect it all that much. Phantom of the Opera was made into a movie but the sales in tickets were effected much.

I think that eventually they will probably definitely turn it into a movie, but I hope they wait a good long while. I mean, look what happened with Rent...right after the movie came out there was a ton of interest in the musical, but now a year later the show is down to 50% capacity. Once people can easily rent a movie, they aren't too motivated to go see the actual show. So hopefully they wait until Wicked has had a good, long run before pursuing this.

This is completely random but I was watching your avatar thingy for a ong time. I like it. Ok my input is I think that they should wait until like the ten year aniversary or some big landmark like that and celebrate by it opening in theaters like that day or somethin I donno just my idea.
