I am sorta suprised at the fact that Jenna Leigh Green played Nessarose on the tour BUT also understudied (not really a standby cuz she was in the show already and a understudy in somone who has there own track and takes over if standby and princaple cant go on) for the role Elphaba many times, but now that she is on Broadway and soon LA I thought she would become an Elphaba standby. I saw her a 2 of times on the tour as Elphaba and it is weird going to go see it and see her just playing Nessa (I know it is a large, well HUGE part and she is WONDEFULL as Nessa) I always thought that at least one company would want her too standby or even become the full time Elphaba. Isnt it weird that she went from an Elphaba standby but wasnt offered it again? I love Jenna's Nessa and Elphaba and I heard she was offered the standby position and she turned it down, but I think that is false. Idk, it just seems weird for her not to play Elphaba even though she played her a couple of times hmmm , Idk, this is what I think about on Sat. lol (wow I have a great social life lol)

If you had the choice of being a standby to one role or else a lead in another, which would you choose... particularly if you've already been a lead in that show for almost 2 years?

I really don't see Jenna ever really playing Elphaba any time soon She did have strong points in her performace, but I don't know if she could handle the number of shows. I love her voice as Elphaba, but I just don't think she has "oomph" the others do!

I don't think they would have her take over, just for the same reasons Candleshoe07 just said. If anything they would probably have Julie.

the whole reason jenna was and understudy for elphaba was cause when the tour first started they did'nt have a standby. they just had 2 understudies.

I think Jenna's a good Elphaba, but she's a PERFECT Nessa. But I'll admit, I was also a little surprised that she wouldn't be at least an understudy for Elphie in LA. Maybe she decided she'd rather focus on just being Nessa.

i think Jenna was a weak elphaba but an amazing Nessarose, i think sher should stick to being nessa she knows the part inside out and really plays and sings the part well. I just think her style of singing and her voice is not up to playing elphaba

She is definitly an amazing Nessa, but I don't think her voice is strong enough for Elphie. But who knows, if she worked at it she could do it i'm sure. I just like her better as Nessa. lol.
