I was SO lucky to see Shoshana's last performance as Elphaba. It was my first broadway show, and I had no idea who anyone was or that it was her last show.
Anyway, she was AMAZING! I have heard so many posts about how she's 'not that great' but I can't believe them!! She BLEW ME AWAY! Her voice is so powerful and she has SUCH emotion...I'm still in awe of her performance.
So, what's next for her? I went to her website, and saw that she's working on a pop career, but she can't be done with Broadway, right?
Thanks,
-Katie

As far as Shoshana is concerned, she is done with Broadway for a while. She wants to focus mainly on her Pop/R&B album. If by any chance the whole solo career doesnt work out for her I'm sure she would return to Broadway. She just doesnt like being stuck in a show for a long period of time or doing 8 shows a week. It becomes very taxing. She deserves to try something else anyway. She spent two years with Hairspray and a little more than a year with Wicked. Its time to try some other things.
Good luck Shoshana!

Thanks for the welcome!

And, I'm SO jealous to any of you who have met Shoshana...I wish I would have tried to after I saw the show, but I'm sure I would never have been able to find her. Who knows, maybe someday!

I don't understand how people think she's "not that good" either! I thought she was beyond amazing!! She IS Elphaba. But everyone has their opinion.
But I <3 her.

So true.....so true!
And I can’t wait for her album to come out.
I told her that at the stage door and she looked like she was going to cry (not a sad cry but a happy cry cuz someone acknowledged it) her expression was like “thank you for saying that!” and she said “meee tooo!” and we laughed. (that was a great moment!)

I realise this'll probably rub salt in the wound (as they say..) but she really was astounding. I am so so glad I got the chance to see her as Elphaba. I've never had so many chills in a musical before!

I would have too! 1) seeing Shoshana and 2) seeing her from front row! I woulda died twice too!
The one time I win the lottery she's out...I was soo sad but yet so happy that day!
:btw: Does anyone else think that Shoshana would make a great muse in Hercules? I mean I don’t think she’s going to be doing anymore lead roles for a while and I know she’s working on her solo album but if that doesn’t work out (but I hope it does), I see her coming back to Broadway (maybe) and I could soo see her being one of the muses in Hercules. And if not that (if they are willing to) she could be one of the church ladies in the Color Purple but that might be a stretch not of her but for the show since (as far as I could tell) there aren’t any white cast members…….

I never really thought of her in that role...But now that you mention it, I think it would be really good...We just have to wait for a Hercules musical!
