I like the one after Dancing Through Life, the one after Popular, the one after One Short Day as the Wizard head comes on, and the dance break during Wonderful.

Honorable Mention goes to Glinda's Engagement Ball

I love the one at Glinda's engagement ball, it's really pretty sounding.

Slightly OT: but has anyone else wondered why they bothered with that scene? The costumes the ensemble wear there are only in the show for about a minute, and yet they must have taken an absolute age to make.

It's to show off the costumes and to set the scene

I suppose I understand that it sets the scene... but those costumes are really going to waste. They should be in a longer scene.

I dont know about an instrumental break.....but I love the new drumroll during DG :heart:

My favourite break has to be the Wizard Head entrance. The W&I instrumental after Something Bad is also awesome, I LOVE the music during the twister, and nothing beats the intro/overture music.

"I Am Oz!' is one of the best pieces in the entire show. It needs to be on the OLCR.

I like that noise the put in when Elphaba says "No good deed goes unpunished" (there is a small horn it blows for 1 sec)

The music gives me chills i tried to play it on the piano once. didnt really work

Yes! I love the music when Galinda cuts in at DTL life and it starts of very slow and sweet and gradually goed into the ensamble singing "dancing through life..." etc again. I love that so much! I also tried playing that on my piano, and I couldn't get it either (I'm always amazed about people being able to play complete songs just by ear).

There is this one TINY little piano flurry in DTL during the Nessa/Bog part...gives me the fuzzies.

Definatly my fav too. I also like the part at the end of SB where she says "It couldnt happen here in OZzzzz" and then it gets to the happy Fieyero entrance music.

I also love the background music durring the Ozdust ballrrom when MM is talking to Glinda about the training wand.

And also the part where Elphaba says "And there we'll finally be, the wizard and I" right before the train station scene.

ANd at the end with the "No one mourns the wicked. Now at last shes dead and gone" and also Glindas speech "Fellow ozians, friends..." its so sadddd.

I like the drums and horns in the classroom scene when Elphaba gets mad and they steal the cub.

Definitely the breaks in Dancing Through Life - the beginning of the dancing in the Ozdust Ballroom and when Elphaba and Galinda dance together, especially.

It may not be my favorite, but I can't help but get into the "Loathing" reprise during DTL, right before Glinda and her friends come on for the hat scene. I just want to get up and dance during that part

I was listening to Defying Gravity (I think) and that thought struck me. Now, I play the cello which is not a percussion instrument, but really, I just thought that'd be really fun.

I don't know if you'd call this a Dance Break. But I LOVE, I mean LOVE the little bouncyness to the music in What is this Feeling right when Glinda and Elphaba start to sing:

"With simple utter loathing
There's a strange exhilaration
In such total detestation
It's so pure and strong!"

Out of EVERYTHING on the soundtrack, that is my favorite part.

I love the part in the Lion Cub scene right after Fiyero says "What did you mean to do? And why was I the only one you didn't do it to?" and right before Elphaba says "You're bleeding."
There is a gorgeous cello solo. Eek gives me chills every time.

I love the one right before DOS when it is coming up to Elphie's entrance. Everytime I hear that music I picture Idina running onstage and standing like 8 feet in front of me. But the music is also beautiful. Yeah, I am a big dork.

The DG intro, the bit when Glinda and Elphie run on stage just before Elphaba says "there are no more stairs" gives me chills everytime.

Also love the Elphie&Glinda dance and the monkey freeing music.

I still get teary eyed when I listen to the instrumental FG right after Elphie melts and Galinda says, "Elphie?" And then how it gets stronger right after Chistery speaks.

But for me the tears extend all the way til curtain call so... :ha:
