OK guys, here is Act I and Act II of Wicked!

*FULL CAST EXCEPT FOR FIYERO, PLAYED BY UNDERSTUDY MICHAEL SEELBACK*

ACT I

NOMTW- Good as always. My second time seeing the show with the changes, and i have noticed a few others through-out the show. It didn't seem as loud as Wicked was meant to be, it appeared as if there was a problem with the sound system, because there were a few little noises here and there. The ensemble was good, but not a lot of energy. Kendra was ok. Great actress, not so great vocalist. All in all great number.

DOS- Yay Julia, I adore her now! Kendra's pretty good at those quick changes, she wasn't late at all for the ending. My second time seeing Jayne, she has gotten better since January, but still not my favorite, she reminds me of a squirrel, or Peter Petegrew for Harry Potter 3, haha. She talks with like marbles in her mouth, and sounds too manly. Otherwise good song.

TWAI- I LOVE JULIA. Now I didnt know she was sick, and when she spoke, you couldnt hear it, but her voice was a little raspy, and I felt so bad, i was crossing my fingers for her. She is deffinantly one of my favorite Elphies, not only can she sing it, but she can act it and she looks like the Elphie i imagined when reading the book. Great finish, she really is amazing, deffinantly see her before she leaves!!

WITF- Julia was hilarious during this song. She mocked Kendra with perfection. Kendra was pretty funny too. The ensemble was much stronger at this point! I always love this song, but it was deffinantly one of the best times ive seen it done (seeing the show 7 times).

SM- Steven is deffinantly the best Dr. Dillamond, ive seen him 3 times now, and he makes the role interesting, like you actually want to stay awake during his scene and song, instead of falling asleep normally, lol. Julia was great, and her and Steven had pretty good chemistry, which is really needed between Elphaba and Dr. Dillamong, otherwise it makes their friendship look like nothing, and shes defending nothing.

DTL- Michael was good. Sounded a lot like Cliffton Hall, which i dont like because it sounds like he's going through puberty, and his voice is soo sharp. Good actor, but couldn't play a straight Fiyero, he made Fiyero seem a little flamboyent, haha. I think he would make a good principal Fiyero, because hes part of the ensemble, so he is more into the dancing part, which makes the song that much better, especially for Fiyero because it shows hes actually going to dance, not just sing and try to dance. Great number, im kinda pissed i didnt see Sebastion tho =/...

Pop- Kendra is funny as hell. She brings a lot of her acting style to the role, and i really enjoyed her little ad libs and motions. She is an amazingly strong and funny actress, which is good because it makes up for her inability to sing the role properly.

IMTG- I felt Julia's (Elphaba's really) problems and pain. Julia has such an amazing connection with that role, its truly great. Really good, I hate this song with a passion, because guys dont normally listen or care about what the song says, but i really listened, and i thought it was amazing.

OSD- Choreography is a little different. Things were refined, and the whole numbers looks even better than before. Julia and Kendra can really make the fast change. they were out faster, and onstage before they even needed to be! I always love this song, its such a fun piece, always entertaining. Julia, Kendra, and the ensemble were superb.

ASM- Third time seeing David and hes never a dissapointment! Deffinantly one of my favorite Wizards! Always great with this song. More to come on him with Wonderful.

DG- Ok, now this is really were I started to notice Julia was having a problem. The whole time when she didnt need to sing, she was coughing, trying to clear her througt, and it worked a few times. Shes an amazing singer, even when she is sick, shes never a dissapointment, but i felt bad for her, because shes up there trying so hard, doing her best, and she cracked in the middle of the flying portion. But before that. Julia didnt get into the spell as much as Ana did, and I liked that about Ana, but Julia still was amazing. Kendra was good in this song too, Jayne wasnt anywere neat as scary as she needed to be when denouncing Elphaba, however she wasnt terrible. Ok, now the flying portion. It seemed as if she was going up a little too late, but that was ok. They really need to speed that lift up, she was going soo slow, my god, its like ok, lets go, lol. There was A LOT, i mean A LOT of smoke/fog. Julia did fine right up until one point and cracked, but covered it up nicely, it was only noticed by singers, and im a singer, so i noticed. She tried to riff more at the end, but quickly got out of it in fear of cracking again, which would have happened. She pulled it off tho, and i am soo proud of her. She dealt with that with beauty and grace, and really prooved to be a great singer, and an even better Elphaba. The number ended with the big and infamous Julia "YAaAaAaA" and boom, blackout! When the house lights came on for intermission, smoke/fog filled the house. I was in row N of the ORCH, and it was back by me, it was crazy. it was still lurking when intermission was over, i was like oh my god, haha. All in all, Julia amazed me through-out this number, and the entirety of Act I!!!

ACT II

NOMTW(reprise)- I always like this song, it gets everyone back into it after the intermission. The ensemble was good, there really isnt much to say about it tho, its only like 2 minutes, haha.

TG- Kendra was ok. Her singing got a little better during this. She started belting towards the end, so that was good, but im pretty sure she didnt sing the ending note, because she went up to the high note, and there was no way in hell she could sing that when her mouths practially closed, so im pretty sure they switched mics, and a Glinda u/s sang it. Jayne sounds to manly, but really manly in here, i dont know, its weird. The ensemble had good energy, and the little solos here and there were great. Micheal was ok, he seemed so awkward, and like lost his acting during this number. All in all, good number, but i have seen it performed much better.

WWOTE- Cristy isnt a good Nessa. She minimizes the role. I got home and completely forgot that Nessa was in the show! Her singing is ok, but like she wants to go loud and belt, but shes holding herself back, i dont know. Now, Logan Logan Logan....unfortunantly i have had to see him 3 times, ugh my god. Hes getting better but still, stop studdering, project, he does that weird thing Cristy does too, wants to belt but holds himself back. Hes really the worst Boq I have ever seen, him and Josh Lamon, they really are terrible if you think about it.

Won.- David is by far one of the greatest Wizards. I do have to say my favorite is Ben Vereen, however, David is a close second. He just gets into it soo much, he really makes it a great number. Im so pissed they took out the dance in the end, because it was perfect for David, and he fit into so well. He really is great, and him and Julia had some pretty good chemistry.

IMTG(reprise)- I hate this song. Kendra was good on it, thats about it.

ALAYM- Michael and Julia had some good chemistry, which is really needed to pull off this number. Julia started the song off perfectly, and when it came time for Michael to sing, he once again sounded like Cliffton Hall with this high pitched, going thru puberty voice. He kind of killed it. When they sang at the end, he was a lot louder than her, and I felt like saying SHUT UP, lol. It ended with a nice kiss!

Cornfield Scene- Glindas new wand for this scene looks much better than that other peice of crap, lol. When Julia walked out and saw Kendra there, she was PISSED, haha, it was great. They were so funny in this scene. After Kendra "slapped" Julia, Julia didnt to the witch cackle, you will find out why in the Stage Door Stories. Kendra did her little stupid laugh, twirld her wand for about 3 seconds, they dropped there broom/wand, and within 2 seconds of that the guards already ran out, and I think they need to give the witches a little more time to fight, lol. Great scene as always tho.

NGD- This is deffinatly Julias song. She kicked butt, and was freaking amazing!! Her voice was still a little raspy, and you could hear how she wanted to riff and do a bunch of cool things with it, but she couldnt. But she pulled it off so nicely, and it came out amazing. Deffinantly one of the best performances of this song.

MOTWH- Good i guess. Logan needs to act more mad, needs more anger. Jayne really isnt as scary as she needs to be, someone has to tell her that. She made that little convorsation between Morrible and Glinda seem really stupid. Good song tho.

FG- It was like, really emotional, im not sure why. Kendra actually did pretty good, but you could hear Julia was just about done, and that she was worn out. It was a really beautiful song tho between them.

Finale- Really nice, and Kendra hit some high notes with and open mouth which makes me think that she might have sung them in Thank Goodness. Im not sure, but it turned out to be a really good song!

Curtain Call- I love the medley they play for this. Julia made the Broadway Cares speech, and she was like "When you exit the theatre, go directly to the bar" it was hilarious, she even did one of those sure why not kinda things with her hands. It was really funny, and after that i ran down to the stage door, and i was like last in that line, and my dad had went to the bar to buy i signed poster. I had donated a few dollars and my dad donated i think $80 for the poster, so together we donated about $90 or so. I had actually donated well over $2,000 to BC/EFA in Wicked's name, just a few months ago.

OK, now individual actor reviews and stage door stories will come later, i promise. Right now i have some stuff to do. For now, ENJOY!!

Thanks for posting your review, but I completely disagree with most of what you said. I think Kendra's voice is amazing. She belts it out like no other. After I saw her I immediatly wanted to get tickets again. I think she's fit perfectly for the role. And I think she's vocally good for the roll. I feel bad for Julia that she was sick. I hope she gets well soon. And I don't think Logan is NEARLY as bad as you make him out to be. I've seen him twice, and throughly enjoyed him. And Jayne, too. I thought her performance was pretty good. I think someone needs to tell her that. Are you sure you liked the show? :ha:

Dear God, give this poor woman a break! If Kednra wasn't fit to sing or act the role of Glinda, she wouldn't have been chosen to do the tour. Let alone be asked to replace Kate Reinders on broadway. She might not be the soprano that Kristin Chenoweth is, but she does a pretty damn good job with those high notes for being an alto.

jeez all i said was that i dont like Kendra as Glinda, Logan as Boq, or Jayne as Madame Morrible. I told them each when i met them they did great, I mean, I meant it for the most part. Im a very critical and brutally honest person. And yes I love Wicked for whomever suggested I didnt like it. I personally have seen better. Maybe I caught Kendra on a bad night, but from what she gave off at the performance, she didnt seem to be able to sing the role that well. Sorry for voicing my opinion, and just saying what I think. You people may love Kendra as Glinda, good for you, I'm sure she's great. I happen to dislike her as Glinda (well only her singing her acting was great), same thing with Logan and Jayne. Jayne is such a sweet lady, she is i love her, but I dont like her Morrible. I don't know how many times you people have seen the show, how many casts or whatever, but I have seen 7 different casts, and I personally think I have seen better people in each of the aboved mentioned roles. We all have our opinions, and we are all entitled to them. Just because I dont like Kendra, Logan, or Jayne for their roles, doesnt mean you people have the right to say I'm wrong, just because you adore them.

Believe me, what you said about Kendra was nowhere near harsh at all. I'm a big fan of hers, but people have different opinions, and I respect that. Great review, I hope Julia feels better!

Even though I adore Kendra and worship the ground she walks on, I completely respect your opinion that you do not like the way that she plays that character. There are plenty of people that have been in Wicked that I have hated the way they chose to play a character but other people love. It is all opinion and everyone is in entitled to one weather we agree or not. If you had said you hated the real Kendra, then I would be coming after you with no mercy! :ha:
WonderfullOne
thank you. i really hate when people do that and think what they think is the way of life, lol.

Individual Actors Review is as Follows-

Julia Murney~ A++, She was amazing. even tho she was sick, she really pulled thru, and her performance was Outstanding!!

Kendra Kassebaum~ B, Great acting, but as I said earlier, I dont like the way she sang the part. She could sing it, but it wasnt as great as other people I have seen. (If you have a problem with this, than good for you, I really dont care).

David Garrisson~ A+, Never a dissapointment, deffinantly one of the best Wizards out there. I think he has more fun playing than people do watching it! He's really great.

Jayne Houdyshell~ B+, All she needs to do is speak a bit more clearly, act more scarier, and not sound soo manly, and she'd be great, otherwise shes not bad.

Michael Seelbach~ A-, Pretty good vocals, just a very high pitched voice. His acting was done nicely, only Fiyero seemed a little too flamboyent this time, lol. Great actor!

Logan Lipton~ B-, He really has gotten better since I first saw him back in August (then January) and now. I think he needs to be a little less nervous of a Boq, only when it comes to Glinda should Boq be nervous, but Logan seems to hold onto that nervousness the whole time, and he expresses it thru studdering. It seemed as if he wanted to belt his vocals, but was holding back on it for some reason. All in all, not bad, getting better.

Cristy Candler~ C+, I had forgotten then Nessarose even existed by the time I left. She plays a very weird Nessa. There isnt a lot I can say because I really cant remember her. I have seen the role played better by understudies. So-so, not bad, not amazing.

Steven Skybell~A+, he maximizes Dr. Dillamond, which we all know is such a small part. He makes his scenes and song much more interesting. I deffinantly love the way he plays Dr. Dillamond, deffinantly the best out there!

I hate do keep doing this, but Stage Door Stories will come shortly. Enjoy for now!!

First of all, let me just say that, as Mark said, as much as I love Kendra, I totally respect what you said about her and you gave very strong, clear, respectful reasons for why you felt the way you did about her performance in terms of vocals.

However, the excerpt that I've quoted is where I feel that you went to bashing, and what I'm surprised that no one prior to me has commented on. As much as we've had issues with bashing performers on WoO lately (to the point that the board was temporarily disbanded), I find it rather appalling that you would say things about the performers the way you did in this particular excerpt. While your reasonings for disliking Cristy and Logan are legitimate and explained, saying "He's really the worst Boq I have ever seen, him and Josh Lamon, they really are terrible if you think about it" is just plain wrong. Because, no, if we think about it, we may not all think they're terrible Boqs. I, for one, am like you in the respect that I am not a Logan as Boq fan... but there are many here who are. Or saying "Unfortunately I have had to see him three times, ugh my God"... seriously, how would YOU feel if Logan got onto this board and read what you said. It's one thing to say WHY you didn't like him... it's completely another to call him terrible. Or with Cristy, just flat out saying that "she isn't a good Nessa." In an earlier response to someone's critique on your review, you commented that it was like they were saying that their opinions were right. Same deal here. You say it as though it's a fact, plain and simple, as opposed to just your personal opinion, that Cristy is no good, and understudies are better (which is also kind of a slam to understudies, if you think about it, given the context). It was YOUR opinion that she wasn't a good Nessa. You didn't like her Nessa; it doesn't mean she isn't good. Please understand, I completely respect your opinions, but I feel it necessary, given that these performers give their all each night for our entertainment, to stand up for them (even though I don't know any of them) when something truly inappropriate is said about them.

Beyond that, I entirely respect your opinions, and actually completely agree with you on most of them. Great review, on the whole, and thanks for sharing with us.[/i]

The long awaited Stage Door Stories!!

OK, so by the time I had gotten to the Stage Door, I was all the way at the end of the barricade, which sucked, but some people had left so i moved up. Two nice ladies had asked me if Sebastian went on and I had said no. We had a really nice little conversation, they had seen The Pirate Queen that evening, and SJB was out. We talked and they said they had seen Wicked 18 times!! I felt pissed because I was happy I had just seen it 7 times, lol. They left, and then David came out. I told him I had seen him 3 times, and he said "The 4th we will put you onstage!" He's always nice to meet, he signed my two playbills. Kendra came out, and by the time she got to me, forgotten that she stole someones black marker, haha. She was really nice, and she signed my playbills and Grimmerie. Jayne came out next. I may dislike her Morrible, but I LOVE Jayne!! Shes such a nice lady. She signed my playbills, and then went on her merry way into her car (yes she gets a car!!, lol) Logan came out. Now when I first met Logan, he couldnt be more of an idiot. I asked him to sign my Grimmerie and Playbill, gave me a dirty look, signed my Grimmerie and walked away (that was the first time). So now I had asked to sign my playbill, he actually signed both, and started talking to me. I was like oh, ok now you wanna be nice and talk, lol. We had a nice chat about Julia. He had said that we caught her on a bad night, but even her bad nights are amazing! He said that she was at the end of her week, and was starting to come down with something. He left and then finally a few minutes later, the long awaited JULIA MURNEY!!! came out. I think im in love with her, lol. I had already met her back in September at the Broadway Cares auction, and she signed my Grimmerie there. I was soo happy to meet her, I had forgotten she had previously signed my Grimmerie. So she signed it again!! Then saw that Cliffton Hall had signed it, PJ Benjamin had, and was like "Oh I know them, you must have seen this on the road!" and i said yupp, I went to Toronto to see it. We talked and I asked What happened to the Witch Cackle? And she said "With my voice in this state, it just wasnt possible, I didnt want to damage it, I'm starting to come down with something, and I think I'm already really sick with something else" She was such a sweet person. I really love her. I wished her well, and we said goodbye. I always love stage dooring, but this time was a lot of fun. I actually just sent Julia a 4 page letter I wrote to her today!!

OK everyone, I'm done!! Any questions feel free to ask, I LOVE anwsering questions!! ENJOY!!!!

in regards to cristy coming out at the SD, we were told to leave after Julia came out, and normally once the Elphaba comes out, you think everyone else is gone so you leave. I left, so wether or not she came out i dont know.

in regards to the other person; im done fighting with you, we both stated our opinions, good for us, the end. and yes it was necessary to call Logan and idiot when i first met him, because he acted like a big jerk. not only to me, but to others there, and i have heard several accounts of him being an idiot or jerk to other people.

Although i never met the guy or saw him, i agree with you 100% that calling him an idiot is appropriate because if he gives you a dirty look, doesn't talk to you and doesn't sign what you asked him to sign then i believe that that is called being a jerk! And when you're an actor, you shouldn't act that way to your fans or to anyone for that matter!

ENJOY!!!!

oh man . i think i was standing right next to you at the stage door . are you the one whos father took you to see wicked in like oklahoma 3 days straight ?? cause i was totally standing next to you if you were . hah . what a WoO world .

Wow... Logan gave you a dirty look? I mean, I totally respect that performers may not feel like being social at the stage door after a performance and that those who are simply go above and beyond, but that's just totally uncalled for.

And in that case, I totally agree with you. Call a spade a spade. If someone's rude to you, they're rude. That's actually not the first time I've heard that about him, though... so different from other Boqs, who all seem to be absolutely wonderful at the stage door (and gorgeous in the case of Adam Fleming).

about your review:

I liked it because it was honest.

I agree with you about Logan, he annoyed me. I though Josh was a lot better than him and he's so nice! (Robb is the best though!)

thankyou. thats all i was going to be, honest. im not going to say i like a performer, if i dont. Josh was better than logan, i agree with you. and i agree with you again, saying that Robb is indeed the best! for all of you other people, thats an opinion

David said the same thing to me! Except it was "The 3rd time we'll put you onstage!" That must be his line or something.

Sorry I came on a little strong in my previous post. It's just that it seemed you found something wrong with every performer except for Julia. You could've tried to be more tactful when you were criticizing their performances is all. Everyone is entitled to have their own opinion. And I never said that your opinion was wrong or the way I think is always right. I just gave my opinion on Kendra.
Starryeyeddreamer18
Oye....I agree that he is entitled to his opinions. Calling him an idiot...maybe not cool but that's not for anyone to attack you over. But I must admit it hurts to hear you think Josh isn't a good boq. I thought he was wonderful. But that's just me.
notEZbeingGREEN
I have seen all three and Adam Sanford as boq. My list for my favorite to my least favorite (as a actor) go:

Josh
Adam
Robb
Logan

but i like it when the boq is shorter than glinda but thats just me.
kitkats99
Id really be interested in seeing Logan as Boq. Ive only seen Josh Lamon unfortunately...I really didnt like Josh as Boq at all, and everytime he came out on stage, I groaned. I found his performance very annoying for some reason. I thought he was the worst part of the show.
