*sigh* I, for one, REALLY wouldn't care if Brad Bass had to step in for Sebastian whenever we go to see Wicked. Not to hate on Sebastian at all, I absolutely ADORE him and his "up that I fell" won him a spot in my heart as one of my absolute favorite Fiyeros, but Brad completely blew me away when I saw one of his ALAYM performances (on YouTube :mrgreen:). His voice is just AMAZING!!! Gave me the biggest chills ever listening to him.

I love Brad and Seb both. Either one will do really. Just throw me a Fiyero onstage and I'll take him! :ha:

ohh I like the idea of this thread. but I have a general question about the cast... what is the difference between the ensemble and the swing?

^ Think of swings as understudies for the ensemble.

Whenever an ensemble is out their swing fills in for them.

ohhh I see. yeah I was wondering what would happen if an understudy ensemble member had to go on as another role. Do the swing still go on every night?

I love him! I saw him in the Drowsy Chaperone last summer.

Spore is still listed in the Playbill I received yesterday.

Jan Neuberger is back as the Midwife/Morrible Understudy, as well.

No they only go on if an ensemble member is out.

Something I've always wondered: What if Julia was on vacation, Lisa's mother died, and Caisse got really sick. What would happen?

They always have backups. If there was enough time, they would fly a standby/understudy from another production up. Or if previous Elphaba was in NYC they would probably call them up. Also, there are probably a few people in the cast that are emergency understudies only, and they would teach them the blocking really quickly and force them to go on. But this would basically NEVER happen.

Does anyone know if Sebastian is supposed to leave on the 7th also?

I don't believe he is, because from all interviews and things I've heard about Stephanie J. Block coming back, the one big enticement for her to come back is that Seb is there, too.

Hey, i got tickets to NYC and Wicked for my 18th this weekend we're flying over in Feb - will it be the same cast then or are there cast changes in nov/dec/jan? Thank you

The current leads, at least, should still be in in February.

That's a maybe . . . it's right on the borderline of when they're leaving. No one knows their last day, but supposedly they're going to be there until some time in April, so they may leave in the beginning or the end, but since the 16th is right in the middle, it's really hard to say . . .

I just got words from Annaleigh's manager that she will be in Wicked till April 20th. Not sure if she plans on extending or not.

She will also be doing a cabaret at Birdland on April 7th

^*sigh* I'm going April 6th, and have been dying for some sort of confirmation she would still be there. Now I'm just hoping she doesn't not do that show because of Birdland the next day. *crosses fingers*

Annaleigh's amazing with her attendance. She's been in the role since October, and Katie Adams has only gone one once or twice for her.

I dont think Annaleigh has any planned vacations unless the 7th is at the same time as a show (havnt checked the calendar haha)
Ill ask her manager if she does have any planned.

Michael Seelbach is not in the ensemble, he's currently Fiyero in the Chicago production. I'm also wondering if SJB has any time off during March, I'm going on the 25th.

Lauren Haughton is listed as a new swing and midwife understudy. Lori Ann Ferreri is the only one listed as Nessa understudy as of last night.
