Basically what every other production thread has...questions thread.
My main question is why isn't the production on the Main Site list? Along with Japan?

I don't beleive it has began its run, but still...Japan has and it is not listed with the others. I just find it somewhat odd.

no it's not. opening night will be on November 15th!

Jun 24 2007, 08:06 PM
The show will be in German, of course it will, and they already introduced two songs: "Nur ein Tag" ("One Short Day") and "Frei und schwerelos" ("Defying Gravity"), sung by Pia Douwes as Elphaba (it's a pity that she's too old for the role) and Sabrina Weckerlin (I didn't like her that much, her Glinda was too angry and cross). It will start on November 15th, however, I'm going to be there on the 10th which is awesome. The castings are over, but there's no official release of any information regarding the names yet, so please be patient. They're going to announce them in summer I think, August.
Anything else? (:

how old is Pia cause homegirl has some pipes I love her second "Bring me down"
IT ROCKS

Jun 24 2007, 08:20 PM
Pia is going to be 43 on the 5th of August. I think she did an amazing job singing DG, her voice is strong and fits perfectly well for Elphaba.

I don't know I think she could pull it off.
She has an amazing voice.
The glinda however Drove me insane, very cheesy and annoying to watch.

Word! Sabrina didn't convince me at all; It wasn't her singing though, at least most of the time, but her acting.
Pia singing DG solo, it's a pretty recent video:

I like Pia but i'm getting tired of her i would like stage holding to pull up a new can of talent and what's up with the acting of sabrina

I read on Willemijn's site that she isn't allowed to tell anyone how Elphie flies, and to please stop asking her. But we all know it's the lift! Or do they do it differently in Germany?
FixatedOnVerdigris
Jul 2 2008, 06:11 PM
I'm pretty sure it's the lift over there, based on what I've read and the TV programs I've seen where she's flown.
It's probably that those clips of Stephanie explaining how, and other things that explain that it's a lift aren't viewable to people in Germany, or, since it's in English, that they don't bother.

I'm not sure though, cause I've never seen it live over there.

I don't know if they even have playbills in Germany. I think the theatre there is quite similar to the theatre in Holland (both Stage Entertainment) and we don't use playbills over here. But I don't know for sure, sorry

There is something called "Stage Programm" which contains cast pictures & biographies (and lots of advertising), it costs 5 Euro. And there is a picture book (15 Euro) which features show pictures with the original German cast.

According to her website she's changed to Tuesday and Wednesday being off. But also it seems that now there are no Tuesday shows at all? I noticed this on Willemijn's schedule and the ticketing website backs it up.

Is there a definite date listed for final performance by Wilemijn and Lucy? I've seen a few posts saying end of January but is there anything more concrete...a set date for contract ending etc? A friend and I from Australia are wanting to book a trip so we can be in New York mid Feb 2010 for a trade event. Hoping to do Stuttgart then UK before hand, if it pans out. Would love to see the girls in their respective roles but can't afford to be OS for more than two weeks and he needs to book by this April. I know we are not guaranteed seeing them even if dates do coincide but any info would be greatly appreciated!

LOL Have missed you comments Mr!

You can't be jealous of what is more or less a pipe dream! Besides I'm the one who should be

GREEN…YOU get to see Teal

in San Fran…or you seen already?

Hoping she will still be on by then too...Teal is another on my Wicked wish list!

Discussing with my friend this Tuesday and it would be ideal cause he speaks/reads German fluently and loves Wicked! We were supposed to see together here in Melbourne back in July and things not been in sync since. I jokingly said a month ago, we should see in Germany instead…one of those HaHa moments that turned into HEY why not?!

Fingers crossed for me?? I promise a souvenir of sorts but if I get locked up for trying to smuggle Willemijn over to the US on my way round...write okay?

So no one has any info on actual dates?

Have wanted to see these girls live for so long...I feel like it's almost meant to be!

Either way though, Wicked in German is a fantastic experience

To be honest I'd never known about Stuttgart before Wicked, and me a gal who loves all things European!

Googled 'Round the World' flights a few months ago...saw Stuttgart on the airport listing and my eyes lit up!

Then read that the girls would still be on till end of January and figured could fly straight there to see the show, then go to Berlin, Paris & Versailles, UK, New York (for trade event early Feb), San Fran and back home. With lot's of Wicked before during and after…if in Melbourne or Sydney by then.
Actually, reading Lana's posts here and messaging her about your trip overseas also inspired me.

Was Soooo excited to read that you gals (fellow Aussies) were in Stuttgart and saw Willemijn and Lucy.
So WHO want's to meet in Stuttgart end of Jan (for the girl's final shows??) and share the Wicked fun?

LOL Need to learn how to say "Take me to Wicked!" in German!
