How many times a week, on average, do Willemijn and Lucy go on together?
Petra
In a "normal" 7-show week (Wicked stopped doing 8 shows a week in March), it would probably be around 5 times - both Willemijn and Lucy usually have Wednesdays off, and from what I could undersdand, Lucy now has the first two Saturdays of every month off as well.

That said, I'd say it varies a lot. If you look at Willemijn's schedule in the past few months, "Wednesdays off" haven't been a rule at all; she's had a few weekends off instead to do concerts and such. Lucy doesn't have a website, so keeping track of her off-days is more difficult, though, again, things vary. And these few months have been/will be even more hectic - some Sunday evening shows got canceled because not enough tickets were sold, Willemijn will be off more due to Aida and/or do "unusual" days (like Wednesday) etc, so she and Lucy will probably have fewer shows together - 2 or 3 a week, maybe.
lfae
Looking at that schedule it's amazing. Willemijn is insane and awesome!

I have a question about the German cast album. My best friend and I want to buy it and we found this site that you can pay to download the songs but it won't let us. Is there anywhere that people from the US can buy the album?
Siel Black
You can order the album from amazon.de or soundofmusic-shop.de, both sites ship internationally

Thank you!!!!!!

Yes, but it's seriously outdated. The last update was ages ago, it still says she plays Tuesdays and there have been no Tuesday shows since March. If anyone plans on going and wants to see a specific Glinda, Valerie will be playing every show until July 29. Not 100% sure why, but Lucy's probably on holiday.

Curious to know the answer to the question posted about Stuttgart having a lottery or day release ticket system? There was no response and hoping someone can answer please?

Addendum: Been informed no lottery or day release tix, so no need to respond! elphie3.gif

Sorry to disappoint you, but Lucy (most probably) isn't coming back until August 6th. Roberta Valentini will be on for Elphaba (because Willemijn's doing Aida in Tecklenburg) and you'll get either Katrin Löbbert or Valerie Link. Either way, I'm sure you won't be disappointed after the show. I still haven't seen Katrin, but Valerie's really good, I liked her better than Lucy. smile.gif

@LaFemmeVerte
Nope, no lottery or day tickets, but if you're younger than 26, you can get "Young Tickets" for 30€ (i.e. 37€ if you buy them before the day of the performance). You can check out the availability on the SE website, the tickets marked with a "Y" are the ones you can get as Young Tickets, the only problem being you can't book them online, you have to call the hotline and order them via telephone.
lfae
Oh I'm not disappointed, they're all fabulous - and I have seen Willemijn and Lucy together and as much as I'd love to see Lucy again, I'm not sure I can imagine her with anyone other than Will! wink.gif So this is good if I get a whole new pair... and I had been wanting to see Roberta too so YAY, good news!

Regarding the student discount tickets, I have a Uni student card from my institution in Australia - is that generally sufficient to present at the time?
Elphahaba
I think so smile.gif I used my ISIC card, if you have any idea what that is. I think they want a picture, birth date and probably expiration date or so? But the guy didn't look really closely or something wink.gif

For those who have stayed in hotels in Stuttgart...can anyone recommend any budget ones close by to the theatre or at least close to transport that is kind of direct to the theatre please? Will be booking for Jan 30th & 31st. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! biggrin.gif

You've got a PM. wink.gif
As for the student card, basically what Elphahaba said - as long as it's in a language they understand (i.e. English tongue.gif) and you've got a photo, your name and an expiration date - it should work. wink.gif

Both times I have stayed in the Hotel Espenlaub on Charlottenstrasse. It's DIRECTLY opposite the Olgaeck u-bahn stop. smile.gif You need to take two different lines to get to the Palladium, but it's really simple to change. And a single room was 20-something Euros per night, small but clean and comfortable, sink in the room - bathroom shared between three other rooms - and heaps of yummy free breakfast. xD

I have a Willemijn question:

- what is up with her schedule????? I can't make any sense of it. Off two weeks, on for two or one, off another two. I don't quite understand why (especially when she's no longer doing any other productions)?
Is there actually a pattern? She seems to have a lot of time off from the show.

Secondly,

Since I'm seeing the show early Jan; does anyone know the likelihood Willemijn will be on (or will she be rehearsing for Best of Musicals/off for new year etc.)?

Thanks in advance.
lfae
I hope by early you mean very early, her final show is on the 6th smile.gif I'd imagine the likelihood of her being on would it be pretty high, since it's her last week and all... but your best bet is to check her schedule closer to the time.

Oh wow, didn't know she was finishing that early. Thanks for that Lfae!! I have 4 shows on the 2nd and 3rd of Jan so... yep pretty early. *fingers crossed*

I'm returning to Stuttgart later in the week because I had a cumpulsive *WHAT IF SHE IS TAKING THE WEEK OFF* moment tongue.gif

Well, since she was working really hard the last couple of months, she took the first two weeks of October off. I'm not really sure what's up with the last week, I know she's appearing in a (live) TV show next Saturday, but no clue why she has the whole week off. It's not usually like that. As you can see, she'll be on every day in November, except for the usual Wednesdays. smile.gif

As lfae said, since her last show is on Jan 6, I'm guessing your chances are pretty high. wink.gif

And I have no idea what Jemma did so I'm not sure if I can answer your Roberta question. xD

edit: OK, I found out about Willemijn's schedule for October - promotional apperances for the Best of Musical tour. icon_mrgreen.gif (and yes, this _was_ a direct translation of "Promo-Auftritte", I can't think of a proper English word, lol duh.gif )

Oo, I probably won't get to check the schedule since I'll be out and about in Europe at that time.

I am hoping she doesn't have a NYears week off, knowing my luck! tongue.gif
I'm really looking forward to it. Very much looking forward to Roberta as I think she's wonderful as well. W00t for both witches *fingers crossed*.

Poor LaFemme though; I know she had her hopes on Willemijn and that was one of the main motivations for her trip to the german production. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

Not long to go now!! Counting down the weeks! Read on Willemijn's blog that she had eleven weeks left and I thought 'oh god, it's just come so fast!'.

Is okay...I'm on a mission!! elphie3.gif I know will be good still and love Roberta but I've been dreaming of seeing Willemijn for so long and the main reason for the trip....to not see is like....well can't quite put into words. Had a few wines lastnight to commiserate drink.gif but luckily still had sense to stop myself from looking up flights to Germany icon_eek.gif before my impending trip in January that I can barely afford! LOL was that mock slap to my face slapface.gif and scream in my head…”SNAP OUT OF IT!” that had me think outside the box I was sulking in! hissyfit.gif

Messaged TheSitar (the “in the know” jam.gif on all things German Wicked…thanks for replies, links, and hug btw!!), about the Musical Gala, so am definitely going to book a ticket to see that in Berlin on the 10th! Will be praying (and making possible sacrifices to the Theatre Gods) that Wilijemen is on that night to sing even one Wicked song! Although after listening to Pia a few weeks ago (thanks lfae!) LOVE that gal wub.gif so will be worth it just to see her even.

PS. Question…anyone actually seen a show in that Velodrom?? Need advice on seating…all the front seats are gone…looking at row 13/14 kind of in front of the stage but wondering if the sides are better? unsure.gif

Anytime. hug.gif And let us all spread the Pia love. wub.gif

Oh and Willemijn's most definitely going to be there, the only thing that could stop any of them to show up is some kind of a SERIOUS illness or injury so fingers crossed you (and they, lol) don't get SUCH bad luck. wink.gif

I've never been there, but this doesn't inspire much confidence. I'd say go for the sides, that's what I did with Chess in Royal Albert Hall last year and I must say it was one of the brighter ideas I've had. elphie3.gif

edit: and by "side", I mean the aisle, lol

Spreading Pia love? I'm in! biggrin.gif That woman is phenomenal! wub.gif

At least Willemijn not playing the last show is going to save me a lot of money :\ I'm still doubting if I want to go to the Musical Gala. Pia and Willemijn is the closest thing to perfection, but German is not my strongest language... and I might be going to NY... decisions, decisions... why are tickets so expensive??

To be honest - if you're not flying over from Australia to see Willemijn just to have the woman leave early, I don't think the gala's worth it. For me anyway. The only thing I'd omgdie to see is Willemijn and Pia in Cellblock Tango. Other than that, it's just a lot of Anton Zetterholm (whom most people like, but I seem to be one of the few that really don't), stuff I'm not familiar with or don't want to be familiar with (WWRY, Hairspray, Buddy, etc.) and Wicked with Willemijn and Mark, both of whom I love, but have already seen live in their respective roles so I don't really feel the need to splurge out 60€+ (+ travel expenses) to see them again. icon_neutral.gif

I personally think the German translation is very strong. True, German is a "foreign" language for me, but I thought they really made some smart choices. I wouldn't mind if they use the German translation as the basis for the Dutch one - although Dutch does have a "more direct" translation of Defying Gravity which I hope they will use.
LaFemmeVerte
Oh I agree...very strong language, though I expected something a little more fierce to reflect the tone. Left me a little stunned when I actually translated thinking it would make me feel closer to the production and I mean no disrespect but I prefer to hear the words already in my head! "Free and Weightless" just doesn't have the same impact for me, and been some time since I studied a language...forgot the fact not all words have a direct translation. elphie3.gif

Hello fellow Willemijn/Pia lovers wink.gif I might be seeing the BoM2010 in Frankfurt. Is there a stage door they use at the Festhalle? or is trying to meet them like a "no go" on this kind of tour?
TheSitar
Hey, sorry for taking so long; I did see your question, but when I asked about it in the German Wicked forum, nobody seems to have personal experience or know anything precisely. sad.gif As I told LaFemmeVerte in a private message, it wouldn't be considered "rude" or anything if you tried to meet the cast/go to the stage door after the concert, I'm just not sure how exactly the Festhalle works (considering it's not a regular theatre) and if it has a designated "stage door". The best thing I could advise would be to ask an usher about the location of a stage door/cast entrance. :/ Sorry I can't be of more help. sad.gif
Jessicasmd917
Thanks so much for your reply. I will definitely try and get some information on it. I just know the Festhalle is so huge so trying to find a stage door might be extremely difficult. We'll see smile.gif Thanks, I appreciate it!

Where is the dutch version?
Elphahaba
They performed it once at a gala with I believe either 'Bezweer de zwaartekracht' or 'Trotseer the zwaartekracht'.
If I look up 'defy' in the dictionary one of the possisble translations is 'trotseren'. And 'bezweren' has a link to magic. But I prefer 'trotseren'.

I don't think it's so much of a problem of FINDING a stage door, but rather the problem of there being more than one. wink.gif
