Hi everyone,

I am sure someone has probably done something like this before and if they have please let me know where so I can have a look!

Anyway, I decided after attending live performances that I would write a blog article in which I reviewed every single person who a) has performed the role including standbys and understudies and cool.gif whose performances I can access in some way. I focused on the 3 main power songs DG, TWAI and NGD.

The purpose of the article was NOT to say "who is the best" but to say "how are they different?" and "what do I like/what don't I like".

I wrote the article and you can find it here on my blog...

BUT I need your help!! Here's where you come in...

1. I'm pretty sure I've missed some actresses who've played Elphaba - let me know who I'm missing
2. Can you let me know of any typos - mispelled names
3. Did I get the casts right? Have I attributed the right actresses to the right companies?
4. Can you help me put these actresses in order of appearance?
5. Can you tell me their start and end dates? I'd love to know who has done the most performances in the roles.

AND OF COURSE....

6. Do you agree with my comments? FEEL FREE TO COMMENT ON MY BLOG!
7. Any recommended reading or viewing to expand on my reviews?

You guys know SO much about WICKED and i'd really like your help to make my blog post as complete as as accurate as possible!

Cheers

Xander

Cool idea. smile.gif

You misspelled 'Shoshana.'

There's no 'o' on the end of 'Roscioli.'

You're missing Brandi, Caissie, Jenna, Maria, Marcie, Courtney, Dan'yelle, and Shona.

Leads order on Broadway: Idina, Shoshana, Eden, Ana, Julia [understudies Kristy, Brandi, Caissie; standbys Eden, Shoshana, Saycon, Lisa]
Leads order on Tour: Stephanie, Julia, Shoshana, Victoria [understudies Jenna, Maria, Marcie; standbys Victoria, Coleen]
Leads order in Chicago: Ana, Kristy, Dee [understudies Courtney, Jennifer DiNoia, Dan'yelle; standbys Kristy, Dee, Carmen]
Leads order in London: Idina, Kerry [understudies Cassidy, Ashleigh; standbys Kerry, Shona, Cassidy]
Leads order in LA: Eden [understudy Courtney; standby Julie]

Chronologically for all the companies, you could go Idina-Shoshana-Stephanie-Ana-Eden-Kristy-Julia-Shoshana-Idina-Ana-Dee-Kerry-Victoria-Julia-Eden.

Their start and end dates are on Wikipedia, as are the names of the Elphabas in the non-English productions.

Hey...this is really cool. I agree with you on just about every single one so that makes it better lol. The one I really agree with is Lisa's but that's just because I love her to death! And if you could review Maria...she is amazing and I would love to hear your take on her performance

That's cool!

You can hear her in the original cast recording singing "no one cries they won't return" in the opening number.

I'm pretty sure she also sings "I hear some rebel animals are giving her food and shelter" in TG.

She definitely does. Oh, and you should put that Kristy was a lead in Chicago in addition to the rest of the positions she's held. And that Julia was a lead on Tour, and Eden, Dee, and Victoria used to standby, and Ana was a lead on Broadway.

I agreed with most things you said, but as far and what I didn't agree with, I highly disagreed with.

Good reviews, overall, though I think you should give a little more credit to Victoria where it's due.

Also, Jillian Giacchi is not of Japanese heritage. She's from Boston whistling.gif.

Guys thank you so, so much for all your help on this. I am going to seek out the ones I've missed and will add them and make all the changes I need to.

Can't believe I spelt Shoshana's name wrong! The shame!!

Thanks again so much you guys and feel free to add your comments on the blog.

I'll let you know when I've updated. You guys are the best.

I disagree with what you said about Idina and Eden, but you hit the part on Julia perfect. You seem biased, but we all are.

I really like your blog. I agree with some of the things that you said, and I am glad that there is someone out there who is not afraid to tell it like it is.
You forgot a bunch, and I think they have been mentioned.
I just really want to see what you have to say about Marcie Dodd - I saw her and I thought she was amazing, and I would love to hear what you think.

Hi all, just updated this with missing performers and all the typo corrections and performers sorted by cast.

Another correction I'm afraid: Courtney Corey rather than Corie.
And, I'm not certain about this, but I think Erin left the Tour to go to Chicago before Coleen joined so I don't think they've performed together.

You're right; Erin left the tour spring '06 and Coleen didn't join until New Year's '07.

Idina's Tony performance was in 2004 not 2005. I respect your opinions and I think that you stated them very nicely.
