Love the idea, Dawn... I don't know if this is right.. But... Kendra's little quirks in Popular, such as... When Elphaba's frock doesn't change into a ballgown, and she says.. "Is this thing on?" Hits it off her hand,then the bed, and then takes it and puts it up in front of her mouth like a microphone and says.."Check, check,mic check,chchchch" Hysterical (sp?)

Idina's gasps. Some hate them, but I love them (most of the time)

Kara, I'm pretty sure Sho did that in her own last show - the dance while she 'toss-toss'ing right? I think Kendra's *sparkles* is one of my favorite quirks ever. Oh, and Kristin's southern accent that I can hear, at least sometimes. Oh! And Megan's "Toss toss no hands"! And her and Kristin's high notes... *sigh* That's all I can think of right now, unfortunately...

I'm lovin Kendra's sparkles. So funny. Yeah, I watched Sho do her dance, and I didn't know which last show that was in.

Erin's inability to do the wand twril. It's almost funnier to see her hesitate with it than actually do it right. Not in a bad way... I love it!

Hilty High Note, Megan's little noises she makes. like "Oh look, it's tomorrow.. hmlmmmnmmlh."

The way Eden punches out some words in the songs, which i love like "Have i actually undersTOOD" and in other parts....oh and i love all of Megan's quirks! But i didn't need to tell you guys that because ya'll already know how much i love her!

Yes! I love the way Eden puts emphasis on some parts of the lyrics, and pretty much all of Megan's quirks win at life.

Eden - The way she draws Nessa to her with her hands in the opening Shiz scene.

Julia - Her head bob in Defying Gravity, in the line "As someone told me lately"

Oh, I'm sorry! I've been saying JLT needs more credit, and I mess up on something like this... I know she's your fave; I'm sorry! Pretty much all of JLT's performance = <3. People need to be more aware (including me, apparently, haha) that Megan, as much as I love her, got pretty much a lot of her Popular from Jennifer. Sorry!

Just so you guys know quirks are not riffs! This isn't the keeper of thread. things like "victoria's witch cackle" are not quirks also because thats what she is supposed to do.

You know what bothers me? When people call the optional high note, 'Hilty High Note'. Megan didn't start that- Kristin did. I mean, I know we all love to call it that, but I think it's unfair to Kristin to call it the "Hilty high Note' Sorry to anyone who might get offended, but I love Mgean as well, but I don't think that's fair to Kristin.

I don't get it, how could Kristin have started it if she's not Megan.. It is called the Hilty High Note... unless I'm wrong with something here...

Um, correct me if I'm wrong: Kristin did the high note in NOMTW and TG a few times during her run, (and on her last) if I'm thinking right, Megan, however did and does it more frequently. Kristin, you could say, did start it, Megan does it more often.

Kristin started it because she played Glinda before Megan did. Therefore she hit the high notes before Megan did. It also pisses me off that Kristin doesn't get the credit.

Well, why can't we credit them both?

I LOVE both of them, but Kristin deserves credit for it - sure, Hilty High note is catchy, but it's fair to give credit where credit is due. Kristin and Megan = amazing, both of them, whether you like one of them better is a different story, I guess! If anyone wants to add to this, that's perfectly fine, and I'm all for posting opinions, but maybe we could get back to talking about quirks that make a actor different, instead of who originated one of said quirks. Kristin started the high note, Megan does it more frequently than Cheno did, though Kristin did it many times during her run. That's about it. Does anyone else have more quirks?

Yeah, I don't think the whole thing about Megan getting more credit for it is because we forgot about Kristin, because that is virtually impossible, but because of the fact that Megan uses it more often than Kristin did.

Oh, definitely! It's impossible to give neither credit when they're both just incredible. This might not be a "quirk" as much as acting ability, but I love Julia's acting choices in WaI to portray Elphie's excitement about the idea of meeting the Wizard and being famous in a good way for it.

I don't think she's off, I think she yells it like Eden used to. I quite like it

....so I like the way Shona portrayed Elphie to be all geeky in the first act, with little giggles in TWAI.

I like the way Kerry mimics voices - cockney and Glinda's voice. She's also ace in Wonderful when she's gesticulating to the Wizard to make him stay a certain distance from her.

I love the way Dianne holds up the character completely all the way through, even like in the scene where Elphie does the spell to make the monkeys have wings - Glinda isn't really significant but Dianne is there in the corner acting splendidly!

I think she is off though, but I think she's one of those people who can sing it amazingly.

The way Shoshana is consistent with her \'ghetto\' interpretation of Elphaba and shows it not just in what she sings but in what she does.

The way Jennifer Laura Thompson displayed remorse during NOMTW.
Most of the ways Kerry chooses to deliver lines, I love the sarcasm.
The way Saycon Sengbloh looks at her hands on \"some things I cannot change\".

How COULD I forget Saycon? She's AMAZING, and I'm mad at the Wicked producers for never bumping her up to fulltime - the way she looks at her hands on that line is so sweet and sad... she understands the characters, and if the producers were smart, they'd bring Saycon back - didn't she standby for Shoshana? So, she was with the show for about two years.

Idina's little hand gestures in DG, the beginning, 'I thinhk I'll try' and then 'I'd sooner buy...', the spell-casting wavy stuff she started, it's so neat! her voice in general, and the way she ends DG...

Okay, I think what most people are talking about here are acting choices, not true quirks. For example, Steph's extra-long pause before "BuhLONDDDDDe" kind of made the scene for me...but it's really not a quirk in that it's not something peculiar, though it is different from how most performers do it. By "quirk" I'm taking you to mean not something characteristic that the person is known for, but a little thing that's unusual and might seem out of place or something but works for that person. Make sense? The best example I can come up with off the top of my head is actually from another show (sorry); so far as I know, every time Steph sang "Woman" in PQ she sang the line "I'm meant to fly/Sailed unrestrained." It's "sail" in the lyrics, but she even did it on the cast recording, and she did it at Birdland when I saw her on the 27th. I was actually kind of glad; it would have sounded wrong had she sung it correctly! :icon mrgreen:

Kate Reinders's "zakjlgkjghlskjglh" in Popular and the way she shouts "OH HELLO!" when she sees herself in the mirror.
And basically everything Eden Espinosa has ever done. But especially the way she claps her hands on "GET. THOSE. SHOES. OFF. YOUR. FEET!"
