^ You should be able to. I've ordered CDs from Amazon.de before & had them shipped to the UK so they definitely ship internationally. Not sure whether you'd have to pay customs duty though, IDK what the US limit is.
In terms of the language barrier, if you're used to using Amazon.com then Amazon.de is pretty much laid out in the same way so if you go through the order process & hit the same buttons it ought to work, lol!
I'm so pleased they're definitely releasing the German CR, after the will they, won't they business with the possible London one.

There isn't any problem to order from Amazon.de from USA. If there any linguistic problems, i'll help you.

It's seems very expensive.
I've tested it with an adress in Columbus, Ohio with credit card, too. And my total for "Standard Versand" (delivery time 8-12 days) was € 30,80 ($ 45,03) and for "International-Express-Zustellung" (delivery time: 2 days) it was € 46,80 ($ 68,42).
€ 64,-- are $ 93,60

Does anybody know if this will feature all new orchestrations/arrangments in the music? I know its the same show, but Im hoping it isnt like the demo songs (although amazing singing) using the broadway backtracking. I just hope for the money Im paying, lol ($90) that it at least has its own arrangments.

I'm pretty positive that the backings will be re-recorded by the Stuttgart orchestra.
I'm SO looking forward to it!!

Um...How could they do that? Force Kristin and Idina to learn German?

Did you mean it was the OBCR but in German packaging?
Anyone mind clarifying? I'm guessing that it is indeed the OGCR.

Well, Amazon don't charge you until they actually ship the order so you can always cancel/amend your current order - shouldn't be a problem.

www.musical-total.de announces: The Stuttgart (German) Original Cast Recording of Wicked will contain 21 tracks.
So there will be two tracks more than upon the OBC Recording.
I wonder what's upon SOC/GOC recording furthermore, given that the announcement is true.
Maybe: Wicked Witch of the East?

^YES!! They will most likely do WWOTE!! YEA!! Me excited lol
And prolly...ummm idk, what else is in the show? Maybe they made the reprise of "TWAI" a little longer and added to it?

Nov 23 2007, 03:07 AM
Perhaps they will include the curtain call medley?

Nov 23 2007, 06:46 AM
Either would make me really happy! Because we have no WWOTE and the Curtain Call/Bows music is beautiful and the same in any language.

and also, its only the orchestra, I mean, we all listen mainly for the voices, it would of been GREAT to have new orhcestra, but come on, we have Williamjn lol

Dec 5 2007, 04:08 PM
I don't think we ALL really do listen mainly for the voices. At least I don't. I think the backings are VERY important. And im very, very, very disappointed.

Dec 5 2007, 05:42 PM
I really could care less about the orchestrations, I'm all about the voices, personally. The previews sound so cool! Wish I could order it, my dad would never let me, he hates Wicked...too awsome, though!

If it has 21, it will probably be the same 21 that are in the playbill. No One Mourns The Wicked (reprise) [the one before Thank Goodness, and Wicked Witch of the East.

I don't have a huge problem with using the same backings, if they indeed did. It is supposed to be the same score.

I was a little bit disappointed when I listened to it for the first time.
I would have loved to here the Stuttgart orchestra just because I think the American orchestration just doesn't fit sometimes. The German stage version appears to have some more notes to fit the rhymes completely and with the American, the singing appears to be rushed sometimes... or is it just my impression?
Anyway, I'm happy to have bought the CD. Because of the lyrics, because of the beautiful booklet and just because it is Wicked. And yes, I am an uncritical fangirl.

I adore how 'Together we're unlimited' in german sounds vaugely like 'Come fly with me' in english. Maybe it's just me...did anyone else get that? I haven't listened to anything else, but Frei und Schwerelos is awsome! I want the literal translation back to english...
EDIT: OMG...Lucy is...I can't believe I'm saying this...her soprano is better that Cheno's!!! Not a powerful in some points ('goodness knows, the wicked's lives and lonely), but her high notes....*seizure*

I love Lucys soprano! I love it on the CD but I have to say that her soprano sounds much better live! A live-recording would have been so much better!

I am ADDICTED to Lucy. Absolutely STUNNING vocals. I've heard her acting isn't great, but I wouldn't know, seeing as I dont understand German.

But I saw her Popular (legal), and I think it's great. A bit like Megan but with a Cheno-esque singing voice.
