(I had a couple of Ideas in my head that I just couldn't ignore, so I decided to start this thread for my little random things I think up at odd moments.)
Father
Frex watched his seven year old son swimming in the lake. he turned towards his two daughters sitting on the shore beside him. twelve year old Nessa was praying. Fifteen year old Elphaba was reading. Neither girl showed any of the same physical features that he had. Shell did. he knew Shell was his son. but were Nessa and Elphaba his daughters? there was know way of knowing. Nessa showed the same devotion to Unionism as he had and Elphaba had the same passion and stuborness as he. But does that make them my daughters? Frex knew very well who Nessa's father was if it wasn't him. but Elphaba he had no clue about. She showed far more intelligence than he had thought Melena to have. and he certainly wasn't as intelligent and quick learning as she was. but if he wasn't her father, who was? Frex decided it didn't matter. he loved them both, even though he didn't show it as often to them as he should.\
(And now, in an attempt to please ICBH, something I came up with as I clicked the new topic button)
What is this feeling?
"Your bleeding" he heard her say. he hadn't noticed the scratch on his face. she said something else but he didn't hear it. he was looking into those deep brown eyes she had.
"Or maybe it scratched me" He heard himeself say. then he saw her green hand reach out to his face to clean the blood from the scratch. as her hand touched him, he felt warm. her skin was soft and he imagined for a moment what it would be like to kiss her. their eyes met. there was something he loved about her eyes. he had never liked brown eyes, he preferred blue eyes, like Glinda's. but those brown eyes were the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. suddenly he stood up, feeling uncomfortable.
"I better go get to safety" he said quickly. "I mean the cub, get the cub to safety"
as he ran off with the Lion cub in the cage, he heard her say his name. he liked the sound of his name with her voice. it was the most beautiful sound to him.
(so what do you all think??)

(been thinking about this one all day..)
Glinda the Good
Glinda looked at the crowd of people below her. They didn't know what was going on in her head. They were just happy to be rid of the Wicked Witch of the West. But Glinda, though she was smiling to the crowd, was falling apart inside. Her friend, her best friend, was dead. And all because she had let jealousy get in the way. Elphaba had always been more talented the Glinda. That hadn't bothered her once they were friends. But then when Fiyero showed who he really had feelings for, that was just too much for Glinda. She had let her anger at Elphaba get Nessa killed, and that led to Fiyero's death, and then Elphaba's. She had gotten three people killed, how could she be expected to rule all of Oz? I'll do the best I can, Elphie, she thought to herself.

Distracted
Galinda was talking, but he wasn't listening. Fiyero was too busy staring at his girlfriends roommate to even hear what she was saying. He figured it didn't matter, she was probably just talking about the new outfit she bought today. He watched Elphaba flip through several books so she could finish her paper. He stared at her soft green hands as they moved. he saw her about to turn and look at them and quickly averted his gaze back to Galinda. once her head was back in the book, he turned back to watch her beautiful black hair flowing over her shoulders like a black waterfall.
"So what do you think dearest," he heard Galinda ask.
"Yes I think you look wonderful. I got to go," he responded, then got up and went to the door.
"I wasn't talking about how I looked, i was talking about what I should do about Pfannee and Shen shen," she called as he closed the door to the room.

Happy Lurlinemas
"Oh, Fiyero, its beautiful," Glinda said when she opened her Lurinemas gift, a blue sparkly ballgown, the very one that would become her signature outfit for public assemblies.
"I'm glad you like it," he responded distractedly.
"I just wish Elphie could be here with us." so do I, Fiyero thought as Glinda went into the bathroom to try on her new clothes. Fiyero went out to the balcony that connected to their room and looked toward the sky, hoping to spot a black and green speck streaming across it. Happy Lurlinemas, Elphaba. I hope you are somewhere safe and warm. I wish you could be here. he thought about what it would be like if she were there. he imagined her opening a gift from him and then running towards him and kissing him as a thankyou for the gift. Glinda wasn't in the image at all.
"Fiyero?" GLinda called.
"out here," he responded.
"I don't think she'd pass by here, FIyero. I look everyday," she said when she saw Fiyero staring towards the clouds. "so how do I look?"
Fiyero turned to her. he hadn't realized she had changed into the ballgown he had gotten her. "you look great," he said, kissing her on the cheek, feeling guilty, and then walked back inside. Glinda stayed outside, looking towards the sky.
"I wish you were here, Elphie," she said softly, then turned and went back inside with Fiyero.
in the tree below the balcony, Elphaba wiped tears from her eyes. "I miss you guys, too," she said quietly.

here's another one..
She Can't Save Him
Elphaba landed hard on the stone floor on the castle, narrowly missing a couple of Monkeys. she ignored the pain that the landing had caused and ran over to the grimmerie. there has to be something in here. there just has to be. she flipped through the pages, skimming each one. finally she found one that might work. might. but she didn't have time to look for another one. she started chanting. please work, she thought. even as she chanted, doubts were flying through her mind. the only person who still cared about her was being killed because of her. all of Oz hated her, even her best best friend hated her. Nessa was gone. and Fiyero was being beaten to death for protecting her. she sat on the ground and put her face in her hands and just let the tears fall. she couldn't save him.
(extra credit to those who can guess where I got the title for this little one shot or drabble or whatever you want to call it.)

(so the eclipse last night gave me an idea for a little oneshot. but it could also be the beggining of a full length fanfic. but I think I like it better as just a oneshot.. tell me what you think about it.)
Elphaba sat down on the ground and stared to the sky. the night was perfectly clear and the eclipse had already begun. it was cold and there was a bit of wind, but she didn't care. she just wanted to watch the eclipse and think. she thought about what she could've done to help Doctor Dillimond, but nothing came to her mind. then her mind switched to that moment with the Lion cub and Fiyero. she couldn't help feeling attracted to her roommate, and best friend's, boyfriend. and she felt guilty about it.
"Fiyero, its cold out here," Galinda's voice came when the moon was half eclipsed. Elphaba looked toward where her friends voice had come from.
"I told you to bring a jacket, but you wouldn't listen to me," Fiyero said as the two of them walked through the park. Elphaba turned her head back to the moon
"I did bring a jacket. but its a dressy jacket. you never specified what type of jacket," the voices were very close to Elphaba now, and coming from behind her. "why are we here anyway?"
"To watch the eclipse," FIyero responded.
"can't we just watch it from a window or something? and what about Elphie? she must be getting lonely in our dorm, I think I will go keep her company." Glinda turned to walk back towards the dorm, but Elphaba spoke up.
"I'm right here, Galinda," she said suddenly, causing Glinda to scream and Fiyero to have to steady himself on a tree.
"Elphie, what are you doing you doing out here?" Galinda asked, clearly a little disappointed at not having a way out of the cold.
"Watching the eclipse and thinking."
"Well, Galinda, since Elphaba is here, we might as well stay and watch. I brought a blanket that you could use. its only big enough to cover two people, though." Galinda, not seeing a way out of this, sat down beside Elphaba. Fiyero, much to Elphaba's disappointment, sat on the other side of Galinda and gave her the blanket. a half hour passed. two of the group were enjoying the nigt, one was not.
"You know, I think I am going to go to practice for sorcery tomorrow," Galinda said, "are you going to stay here?"
"Yes," Fiyero and Elphaba said at the same time. Galinda looked a little sad.
"Galinda, who knows if we'll get to watch this together again?" Galinda just shrugged and walked off, leaving Elphaba and Fiyero watching the eclipse together.
Fiyero covered Elphaba with the blanket that had been covering Galinda. Elphaba almost refused it, but decided not to. then she noticed Fiyero was shivering a bit and scooted closer to him and cover him with the rest of the blanket. Fiyero scooted closer so that they were almost touching. as the pair of them sat watching the eclipse, they dozed off. Elphaba's head was on Fiyero's shoulder, with his head rested on hers. they were woken up at the peak of the eclipse when a very frantic Galinda came looking for them.
"You two are going to freeze out here," she said, jolting the pair out of their peaceful sleep, "its getting late we should get back to our dorms."
Fiyero and Elphaba reluctantly got up. Elphaba folded up the blanket and the three of them headed back towards Shiz university. when it came time for the girls to separate from Fiyero, he and Galinda kissed goodbye. Elphaba looked away. it was when Galinda and Elphaba made back to their dorm that Elphaba realized she still had Fiyero's blanket.
"Oh don't worry about it, he has plenty of blankets. I've walked off with many on accident, too. good night Elphie," Galinda said and fell asleep. Elphaba continued to watch the eclipse from her bed, missing the warmth of FIyero's body beside hers. she covered herself with his blanket, taking in his scent.
back in his dorm, also watching the eclipse end, Fiyero was thinking about the night. he liked having Elphaba so close to him. the smell of her hair was still with him, and he smiled. it was then that he remembered she still had his blanket. it had annoyed him to no end when Galinda had taken his blankets with her. but thinking of Elphaba in psession of his blanket made him smile. then he fell asleep. his dream that night was of an emerald beauty beside him staring at the stars.

(here is my very first song fic. I was struck by inspiration while I was thinking of a song from my favorite movie, Beaches. this is GLinda thinking about Elphaba after the melting. and I am using the movie version of the song because its easier and I think it fits better than the whole version.)
Wind Beneath My Wings
From: Beaches
By: Bette Midler
it must have been cold there in my shadow
always watching the crowd around me
to never have some light on your face
No one ever paid attention to you, it was always me
you were content to let me shine, thats your way
why didn't I see that you needed to be in the spot light for once?
you always walked a step behind.
because of me
so I was the one with all the glory
as Glinda the good
while you were the one with all the strain
why didn't I just use my popularity to tell them all the truth?
a beautiful face without a name
except the wicked witch
for so long
for far too long
a beautiful smile to hide the pain
thats what I had to do that awful day
did you ever know your my hero
since the day we became friends in Shiz
your everything I would like to be
you always did what was right instead of what was easy
I could fly higher than an eagle
with you here beside me
for you are the wind beneath my wings
you always will be
did I ever tell you your my hero
that will never change
your everything everything I wish I could be
and what I will try to be from now on
oh and I, I could fly higher than eagle
only because of your strength
for you are the wind beneath my wings
I will always keep your memory with me
the wind beneath my wings
helping me do what you never had the chance to do.
you, you, you,
my best friend
the wind beaneath my wings
I hope I don't fail you
fly, fly high against the sky
As high as your memory takes me
so high I almost touch the sky
correction, I do touch the sky
thank you, thank you
for everything you ever did for me an all of Oz
thank god for you, the wind beneath my wings
I'll miss you Elphie
(Its not the best, but it was my first song fic. so what do you think?)

Hey....these were orgasmic!
The Lurelinmas one was my favourite.
But the one about she can't save him made me think of a song by the same name that made me think of wicked.
it's by Reba Macintyre.
Have you heard the song " Love me if you can" by Tim Mcgraw? Also, "Because of you" by Kelly Clarkson both remind me of wicked. Might do the song poem thing with it.
Keep writing, their wonderful!
Oh if you want ot read my attempts at drabbles/poems look up " Lovers drabble" thanks night

I don't remember love me if you can, but because of you I also was thinking of a way to put that into Wicked.. and theone titled "she can't save him" I did indeed get from the song by the same name from Reba.. I was listening to that and ELphaba's voice came into my mind.. that sounded really weird... anyway.. glad you liked them..

(time to bumb this up with another oneshot/drabble.. still can't figure out the difference between the two anyway, here it is)
Guilty
"Fiyero, wake up," Glinda's voice came. Fiyero opened his eye's and was blinded by the morning light.
"What time is it?" he asked.
"About nine. you were having the dream again, weren't you?"
"Yeah," Fiyero said, feeling slightly guilty. he had been dreaming about him and Elphaba being together. but Glinda didn't know this. the first time he had had the dream and she'd woken him up, he had told her he dreamed some one was hurting the green woman. he had felt guilty, but he didn't want Glinda to know what he had really dreaming about.
Glinda looked at the man who had been her boyfriend for the last three years. she knew he was lying about the dream. she always noticed the was he looked away from her when he told her about the dream. and the way he said Elphaba's name in his sleep wasn't in a fearful way, but more desire. she wanted to tell him she knew, but she didn't want to admit that he loved her best friend. so instead she went on pretending to be ignorant of his real feelings. she felt guilty for keeping him with her, but she loved him. and she needed some one who shared the same guilt of not telling the truth about the woman every one called a wicked witch.

(another song fic to try..)
SONG:Brave
Singer: Idina Menzel (that ya'll didn't know that already)
Don't know just where I'm going
And tomorrow, it's a little overwhelming
Elphaba really didn't know where she would be going after this. all she knew was after today she would never see her best friend again.
And the air is cold
And I'm not the same anymore
she knew she wouldn't be the same without Glinda, but she had to do what she was about to do.
I've been running in your direction
For to long now
I've lost my own reflection
And I can't look down
If you're not there to catch me when I fall.
even when they'd been separated, she had always been able to think she would see GLinda again. how could she leave Glinda like this?
If this is the moment I stand here on my own
If this is my rite of passage that somehow leads me home
I might be afraid
But it's my turn to be brave
If this is the last chance before we say goodbye
At least it's the first day of the rest of my life
I can't be afraid
Cause it's my turn to be brave
GLinda knew all too well what her friend was considering doing. how could Elphaba do this? sacrifice herself for nothing? Glinda decided that what ever her friend wated her to do, she would do it, even though it meant losing her best friend. she knew Oz needed her to lead bravely.
All along all I ever wanted, was to be the light
When your life was daunting
FIyero hated to make ELphaba leave GLinda. He wanted Elphaba to be happy. and being happy was being with GLinda.
But I can't see mine
When I feel as though you're pushing me away
Well who's to blame, are we making the right choices
He couldn't help wondering if he was taking Elphaba away from GLinda for his own selfish reasons. how could he pull these two women who cared so deeply for each other apart?"
Cause we can't be sure if we're hearing our own voices
As we close the door even though we are so desperate to stay
they all wanted to stay together. but that was impossible.
If this is the moment I stand here on my own
If this is my rite of passage that somehow leads me home
I might be afraid
But it's my turn to be brave
If this is the last chance before we say goodbye
At least it's the first day of the rest of my life
I can't be afraid
Cause it's my turn to be brave
they all needed to face the fact that they would never be together again.
And I might still cry
And I might still bleed
Glinda couldn't handle losing her best friend, but she would have to.
These thorns in my side
This heart on my sleeve
FIyero almost told Elphaba to tell GLinda that they were alive, but the risks were too great.
And lightening may strike
This ground at my feet
Elphaba wanted nothing more than to stop the plan. but she had to do through with it. all she could do, was hope it would go as it was supposed to.
And I might still crash
But I still believe
although they wouldn't be together physically, they would all be together in spirit and in memories.
This is the moment I stand here all alone
GLinda was now the only one of them left
With everything I have inside, everything I own
She would do her best to do what Elphaba would want done.
I might be afraid
But it's my turn to be brave
she didn't want to be a leader on her own, but there was no one else to do it. Oz need her to lead. Elphaba believed in her ability to lead. that alone amde her so her best
If this is the last time before we say goodbye
At least it's the first day of the rest of my life
I can't be afraid
Cause it's my turn to be brave
(I didn't really like the way it came out, but you know, it was a thought. it was something at least)

"Elphie, where have you been?" Galinda asked. "I was worried when you didn't come back from class. i heard about doctor dillimond. Elphie, you okay?"
"I'm fine, Galinda," Elphaba responded. in truth, she was really confused. what had just happened between her and FIyero with that lion cub. some thing had happened, but she wasn't sure of what it was.
"Elphie, somethings bothering you. i can tell."
"I just have a lot on my mind."
"OOH, I tihnk I know whats going on. you like some one."
"What? I don't--"
"Elphie has a crush. eeee."
"Galinda, I do not have a crush." do I?
"Yes you do. I can tell. who is he? whats he looo=k like? do I know him?"
"Galinda, mind your own business."
"oh come on elphie, please. who is he. maybe I can help."
"I don't think you would be able to Galinda," ELphaba responded. maybe I do like Fiyero. ELphaba, sotp that. you don't like him. it was just some strange odd moment. Elphaba still couldn't help thinking about him, though. and she knew she was just deceiving herself. she was falling for her room mates boyfriend.

(here's a oneshot i thought up today. it didn't turn out the way i originally planned it, but i still like it. a closer look into why Glinda became GLinda the Good. why would Morrible allow the Wizard to give the blonde she had no faith in a a job as a public official? there was going to be something with Fiyero, but i couldn't quite work that in.. maybe i will make this a two shot. but for now, this is it. hope you enjoy!)
“Your Ozness, we caught one of them, but the green one got away,” The Captain of guard told the Wizard and his Press Secretary. He was one of the few to know the Wizards true form, instead that redunculous metal head that most got to see. “What do you want me to do with the blonde one?”
“Keep her locked up, but safe,” The Wizard said. He didn’t want the young blonde harmed. He didn’t think she was any danger, unlike Elphaba.
“Keep close guard on her. The other witch may come back to rescue her friend,” Madame Morrible said to the captain. The wizard nodded in agreement then sent the guards away.
“What should we do Madame?”
“I don’t really think that vegetable will come back very soon. She may be young, but she is far from stupid.”
“we must bring her back, Madame, get her to see things our way,” the Wizard said.
“You don’t think I know that?” Morrible snapped, “Who do you think came up with the original plan to ban Animals and stop their speaking? Who made you as popular as you are? It was me.”
“Well some of that seems to be backfiring, Madame, now doesn’t it?”
“well if you hadn’t opened your mouth about about the Animals, Elphaba wouldn’t have known and would have joined us, not knowing what she was truly doing.”
“SO what are we going to do now? What about Miss Upland?”
“She is expendible. She has no real sorcery talent, so she is useless to us. A story could be spun about her being found dead in the city. No one would be the wiser. But the witch’s other friends, I don’t know what to do about them.”
“I thought you said Elphaba had no friends.”
“I said she didn’t have many, but there are a few she is close to.”
“Such as?”
“The Upland girl and her boyfriend. The other Throppe girl and the young munchkin who caters to her. Those are the four I would worry about. No one else really got close to Elphaba, emotionally or physically. She has a temper.”
“SO I have seen. So what shall we do?”
“Well, once word gets out about how her sister left her high and dry, Miss Nessarose will feel betrayed. She won’t ask any questions. She’ll hold the hate inside herself. I believe a hot temper is in their genes. The munchkin boy tends to not notice any one except Miss Upland. He wasn’t necessarily close to Elphaba, so he won’t really care. He’ll be more concerned about Miss Uplands fate. That just leaves Miss Uplands boyfriend. He seemed to be as close to Elphaba as Miss Upland. Especially after that Lion cub fiasco. And he‘s not as brainless as he lets others believe he is. He will pick up on Glinda‘s supposed death and Elphaba‘s disappearance easily and may even be able to link the two of them. And he has the money to conduct his own search for Miss Upland‘s murderer. That could end badly for us.”
“We can dispose of him the same way we can Miss Upland, can’t we? Or maybe throw him in prison for her murder?”
“DO you even know who we are talking about here?”
“No, why?”
“The blonde airhead’s boyfriend is none other than Fiyero Tiggular, the crown prince of the Vinkus. For him to show up dead or be thrown in prison without a trial would no set well. We are trying to keep Oz under our control,” Madame Morrible said. “We will have to keep a close watch on him. I may have to stay at Shiz for longer than we had hoped.”
“Or maybe not,” THe Wizard said. Madame Morrible gave him an odd stare.
“What are you talking about?”
“He is a leader, whether he acts it or not, am I right?”
“Yes. Your point?”
“Well, I have noticed the way the Ozian guard is right now is a bit lax, don’t you think? We should put some new blood in there,” The Wizard said. Morrible knew he was just telling her the way they would spin it to the public. Neither one of them would believe the prince would change anything.
“The problem with Glinda would still be there, though. Maybe even worse.”
“So make her a public official as well.”
“Ha! That little bubble brain couldn’t lead anything.”
“I am not saying let her be a leader. At least not a true leader. I am saying let her be our face. Our presence. The people will see her beauty and follow her. We just have to tell her what to say. And if we were to make the young prince our captain of the guard, that would put more faith in their goodness, and we would be golden. And if the people become unpleased with our changes, well, she will be the one to take the fall. no harm done. To us, atleast. The closer they are to us, the better we can keep watch on them,” The wizard said. He called in a guard and told him to escort Glinda back to the throne room. Glinda’s voice was heard five minutes later coming from down the hall.
“No need to be pushy. Honestly, these are new heels. If I break one you owe me, Mister,” Glinda said as she entered the throne room. Madame Morrible rolled her eyes before she started speaking.
“Miss Upland, Are you okay?” Madame Morrible asked, feigning concern.
“Well other than the fact that I almost broke a heel multiple times today, yes. Why do you ask?”
“I was concerned that perhaps you had gotten hurt when Elphaba left you.”
“Elphie wouldn’t hurt me Madame. She’s my Best friend,” GLinda said. Madame Morrible bristled. Getting Glinda to call the green girl a wicked witch would be tough. The Wizard saw Madame Morrible deep in thought, and took over.
“You acted admirably today, Miss Upland, going after her like that, with out regard to your own safety or future here.”
“Like I said, she’s my best friend. I thought I could talk her down like I have at school with her sister.”
“Yes, well, sometimes you just can’t stop some one from being who they truly are. Miss Upland, what you did today was a good thing. We would like to offer you a position as an Ozian official.”
“What?” Glinda said, shocked.
“You can raise peoples spirits, and most every one who see’s you loves you. We could use a public figure like that. What do you say, Glinda the Good?” the wizard said. Glinda thought for a moment. This was supposed to be Elphaba’s moment. Not hers.
“Every one will look up to you. The people will love you and admire you and your beauty,” Madame Morrible said. She knew Glinda’s weak spot for attention all too well.
“Well, Okay,” Glinda responded and grew excited at the thought of all of Oz admiring her. But despite that, in the back of her mind, there was still the worry for her friend. I hope you’ll be okay Elphie.
