When I saw Caissie in Hairspray back in 2006, I thought "Wow...she'd make a good Elphaba." Low and behold a month later my friend told me that he heard throught the grapevine Caissie was replacing Brandi! She's a wonderful performer and has accomplished so much in such a short amount of time!

........And the smartass (its meeeeeee) gets the second response in this thread. However I am a bigger Caissie fan then I have ever been of Eden so I can't wait to see how she grows in this role.

i love her. i think that she is fantastic and may lotto all weekend just to see her. if %^#$@ doesn't call out as Glinda then that will just be a bonus. since we can't talk about other people in peoples love threat i can't wait to see *%#$!@% as boq.

I think it's pretty awesome that she's accomplished so much so young. I know I would be so happy if I got the lead in one of the biggest shows at that age.

I would love to know how many people auditioned for the LA lead. I'm sure she had to beat out a few bigger names in the industry. I mean how cool is it for her, in the ensemble one day on Broadway and leading the LA company the next.

I can't wait to see Caissie! That is, if I ever win lotto, or cave and buy real tickets

As Levyite #12, I was definitely impressed with Caissie after only being IN the role for 3 days!!! I can't wait to see her again as she gets more and more comfortable with the role!!!!

Sweet Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Can this little 'pow wow' be held through PMs please? The constant bickering, nagging, and immaturity in the LA Forum especially has gotten old...very old.

I was so excited to see Teal's first show and she was great, but now I definitely need to buy tickets to see Caissie. I think I am going to give her a few more weeks to settle in and then go. I just hope I don't miss her again. She brings something so fresh to the role and her vocal transformation is great. Also, am I the only one who thinks she has the most amazing, yet subtle riffs? I love Caissie.

^ Haha, yes it might be best to point it out. It's almost as if you don't realize she riffed until a little while after the fact. She makes it sound like it is in the score which I like because I'm not thinking, "Oh Caissie just did her special .... riff."

I can get house seats whenever I want....I still have to pay for them and they're more than lotto seats. I'd rather wait and pay $25, Caissie's not leaving anytime soon.

Everyone is right about her riffs...she drops them and you're left saying "what just happened? did I miss something?"

I am a huge Caissie fan now that I saw her actually perform live!! Her voice is so amazingly controlled! She makes everything she sings sound so effortless, which is part of the reason why I love her. Her control is astounding, and I am reminded of it each time I hear her sing. Her passion for acting is shown during the performance...her acting, people...it's SO amazing. I miss the acting sometimes with other Elphabas (it took me five times to spell Elphaba right!!! Man, I'm tired!) but Caissie's is so spot on and so believeable that it just makes my jaw drop. Sure, there are a few things she can work on, but overwhelmingly, she presents one of the best portrayals of the green girl that I've ever seen.

If this is how she is in Wicked, I can't even imagine her in Hairspray!! Something I must see is sadly gone...or rather, she's gone from it. Not that I'm complaining!!

And, as a last thought, Caissie is one of the nicest people I've met, to boot. She is so human, so real and so genuine. She pretty much rocks when she utters the words "bad ass" to us!

I've seen Caissie as Elphaba a handful of times now, and I really adore what she is bringing to the role. I especially love her Act I...while I find her Elphaba quite wide-eyed and optimistic, she's also more brash than other portrayals I've seen. Her Act II is also very good, and I especially love her interactions with Marcie in WWOTE. On top of that, she seems to be a genuinely nice person who is also very happy to be in LA for Wicked!

Word on the street is Caissie has a 3 month contract.

Three months???!!!! I thought when you are full-time you usually stay for about a year!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no! I want it to be Caissie when I see Megan's last... but then again, maybe it'll be Teal, who I also hear is very good. Still! I was excited to see Caissie.

A year seems pretty rare to me...I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who had an initial contract for a year. Eden did 9 months on Broadway, took 3 months off, and did...a little over 10 months here? And that was with at least one extension. SJB's contract for Broadway (if she doesn't extend) is about 6 months, based on her Playbill interview. And we don't really know the source of this information, either, or whether it's accurate.

Most Elphabas have had either 6, 9, or 12 month contracts. Ana's Broadway run & Idina's London run are the two big exceptions. I'm really surprised that Caissie's contract is only 3 months long; there must be a reason for that.

That doesn't make sense...she'd be leaving less than a month before Megan.

I too heard Caissie's contract was 3 months. I found it a little strange, but she can always extend. She's such a talented girl. She's got a great voice on her!

maybe they'll bring her to broadway if there isn't already a replacement for stephanie unless they plan to promote lisa, but that would be awesome if caissie got to do broadway lead as well. or next case scenario...she has another awesome opportunity for her to shine.

She certainly does have a great voice! I hope she extends or that these contract rumors aren't true, because I really want to see her this summer when I come home! I might be seeing it Spring Break, but I don't know for sure yet!

I'm sorta getting irked at the fact that she might only be staying for 3 months....its seems odd they first flew her ALL the way out from NY to LA, then prep and train her while she was a standby, then put her onstage for only 3 months...even if she is a "hold over" till Shoshana or someone else can take over, that is still alot of work. Idk, it just seems incrediably unfair, Caissie IMO has one of the strongest voices, even stronger then Eden to a certain degree (even tho I love all the Elphies

^ It's still a rumor, we don't know yet. Best way to know for sure is to ask Caissie if the rumors are true at SD.

From Caissie's own mouth at stage door tonight...she will be here longer than three months. She did not volunteer the exact date her contract is up, and I did not ask. But she assured me she will be here well more than three months.

Yay! 3 months is way to little after all the rehersals you do! She better stay for at least 6-9!

I'm so glad those rumors aren't true. I really hope Caissie will still be around this summer so I can see her again! I was just talking to my theatre professor about Caissie and her acting skills today, actually.

I don't know if she wondered why or not. I asked it along the lines of, "there are rumors swirling about online that we're only going to have you with the LA cast for 3 months, is that true?" with big, sad puppy dog eyes. She looked completely surprised, said it wasn't true, and that she was going to be here for much longer than 3 months. She didn't offer a specific end date, and I did not ask. But hopefully, yes, we can put these rumors on the back burner for awhile and get back to adoring Caissie!
