does it take a long time to wash off all that green? Or does the actress just leave the stagedoor green?

They will wash of their faces/necks, but it saves time to wear the green body suit rather than have to paint her arms and chest entirely. I remember asking once at stage door ages ago, and whoever the Elphaba was (can't remember who) said it took about 10-15 minutes to take the green off. At stage door, they usually have a green tint to their faces and you can still see paint on the hairline.

ya you guys are right. thats probably why they come out last! now that i have seen the show so many times..i always tell people that they are "washing the green off" when they are like "when is elphaba comin out"..
why did i just say that? *pointless rant*

its kind of nice that they come out last, because then all the people before them get a chance to be the center of attention. if the elphaba and glinda came out first, most people would just leave after that. (not me!)
anyway, yeah it usually takes 15 minutes to get all the green off. one time, ana came out and basically 1/4 of her face was still green. but she made it out in record time.
