I've never seen Evita, lol
you. must. see. it's kind of hard to see the stage musical right now. the tour seems to be on a limited run, not many scheduled dates on ticketmaster. but rent the movie that madonna did, it's worth the watch.

i was thinking so, but have never researched or read anything on it. maybe it is a tribute from a choreographer.

The choreographer idea could well be a good point, maybe they put it in there 'cuz of that?

It is intentional- they had a lot of problems with the staging (if you have the Workshop you can hear the major changes the scene went through), and decided to give something to the more educated Broadway fans to laugh about. That's all I know, I think. I'm sure someone else knows more.

Not only is it staging wise, but I read an interview that Susan Hilferty meant for it to be like that costuming wise. If you notice, in Act 2, she has an Eva Peron dress and an almost Diana like dress. The other thing is, Glinda and Eva were both puppets for the government (I think, I could be wrong).

That is a very good observation.

It's also funny because they're both act 2 openers. WOW I bumped this thread far up. I was looking at threads in the last few pages, haha.
