I think maybe it has to do with the Wizard and Morrible replacements since JoAnne and John are leaving and there's been speculation that big name actors will replace them in LA's last months. OR........since they said October, it could be for Glinda or Elphaba, since Teal and Erin's contracts are up in September. But maybe they'll extend. I dunno, maybe it is Carol Kane....we'll find out.

^I also thought about Carol, as she was mentioned in the LA thread as well, but will Carol be selling out so much that we should get tickets ahead of time? I don't really know if that was happening while she was here...

Carole is a big star. When she first came out when i saw "Wicked" she got a big round of applause. She's also won two Emmys for "Taxi" and recieved an Academy Award nomination for Best actress in "Hester Street."

I think Carol Kane is coming back... and we're getting a "big" Wizard as well...

If it is a new Elphie or Glinda, that kind of bumps my hopes of Erin returning to Chicago up a notch. A small notch, but a notch none the less. A. If it's a Glinda replacement, obviously Erin will be free to return to Chicago. B. I didn't think they'd bring in a new lead with only a few months remaining, but if LA can do it, Chicago can!

PS: I know it has been confirmed by other cast members that AA will close Chicago. A girl can still dream, can't she?

I'm not implying she's doing it or anything, but isn't Megan done with her 9 to 5 previews in October? I'm guessing after the out-of-town previews, the cast will have time off until the holidays are over, then will go back to rehearsals in nyc....so although I think it's VERY doubtful, wouldn't Megan technically have some time around the end of the year?

^I don't exactly know if she'd WANT to..jumping back and forth from shows like that. I would think she'd want to spend as much time possible woring on 9-5, considering she's opening it on B'way. You never know though.

I'm personally writing this off as nothing but RUMOR. The ticket salespeople at the Pantages are NOT privy to contract or casting information behind-the-scenes. For all we know, this person got the information off of Wikipedia when it was rumored that Eden was going back to playing elphaba in November. If it hasn't come from an official announcement or the mouth of the cast member in question, it really is probably JUST a rumor.

Linda Kerns confirmed at the LA stage door that Carol Kane will return to the role of Madame Morrible and David Garrison will replace John Rubenstien as the Wizard next month.

My prediction:
Kerry Ellis will return to play Elphaba on December 1st in London.

YES! Although i was hoping for Linda to take over, i'm beyond thrilled that Carol is retuning and David Garrison is taking over as the Wizard as i've ALWAYS wanted to see himand from what i have seen, hes an amazing Wizard,although no one beets John! Gotta go see the show before John leaves!

Although I'm by no means a fan of Carol (in Wicked) and David, they'll be an improvement over Jo Anne and John.

yeah, i have to admit that i'm just a little disappointed. of course not that carol is returning and that david is coming! i've never seen david, so i would be happy to see someone new. and i love carol! but i was expecting/hoping for an elphaba or glinda. but oh well

I'm still surprised myself about the cast changes in LA. I really thought that the current cast would be the closing cast... I really don't want anyone else to leave-- I wish I could've caught Marcie as Nessa, though.

I like Carol in other stuff, but I think she's completely miscast as Morrible (though not nearly as miscast as Jo Anne). I don't like that Carol plays Morrible as a complete ditz. As for John, I don't think he's a good singer and he plays the Wizard as too calculating for me. I prefer when the Wizard is played as more "simple." I also think John is not a good actor in general. Too melodramatic.

What I like about Jo Anne is that she is her own Morrible... she goes in the opposite direction of pretty much everything Carole Shelley did, which makes her the most... *unique* Morrible. Very nice woman... but kind of miscast.

No. I expect another cast member to return.

I was sitting next to some avid wicked fans at the show today, and they said they heard the OCC will perform the last Chicago show together. Hmm...interesting.

Although none are substantiated by any means, today alone I have heard:
1. Katie Rose Clarke is definitely going to Broadway in November
2. Carmen may also be going to Broadway in November
3. I've heard that Eden will be returning to the role of Elphaba on Broadway within the next year
4. I've been told that Kate Reinders is coming back to Broadway as Glinda.

...sorry, I laughed when I heard the last one (sorry Kate!). First off, they obviously can't all be on Broadway at the same time. Second, some of those seem highly unlikely....anyway, just thought I'd share the amusing spectrum of rumors I heard today

Even if Kate or any Wicked alums do say they're completely done with the show, I'm sure if they were offered enough money they'd return.

I REALLY hope the Katie rumor is true! I'm pulling for Lisa to replace Kerry, but I'd be happy with Carmen too. I think Eden and Kate should move on.

For the Carmen/Katie rumors, I guess a friend of a friend had been at SD recently and that's APPARENTLY what Katie Rose Clarke said (but again, you know how these things get misinterpreted, so who knows).

And the Eden/Kate rumors are even less substantiated, just heard it from a fellow Wicked fan, who heard it from another Wicked fan (and I'm not even sure who they heard it from, lol).

According to this article, Lee will be leaving the tour in five weeks. I heard that Lenny might replace him, which I hope is true.

The Eden/Kate rumors are from Wikipedia. They were *supposedly* going back in November. November 11th to be exact. I seriously doubt them.

The November 11th date is because Kerry and Kendra(I suppose) are leaving on Nov. 9th. I know that Kerry is leaving then but not sure about Kendra.

Kristy Cates was asked about rumors of her coming back and on the Fruit Salad interview she said those were untrue and she also mentioned the Eden rumors and said they weren't true either.

Eden made it clear that doing the Los Angeles company was a great way to end her journey with "Wicked." She also said that she's having the time of her life in "Rent" right now. I think she should do the tour since she's only been with the show for three months.
