Erin said on Facebook that she won't be closing the LA company.

What do you guys think about the Chicago closing cast? I would put my money on an OCC reunion. Maybe for a few weeks, or maybe just for the last performance. Thoughts?

I think Emily Rozek should finish out LA. She deserves it. Don't find it likely though...

Dee and Annaleigh will close the show.

Emily definitely deserves it, IMO. I don't know if it could happen..but I'm crossing my fingers..and everything else I can cross.

I believe they've told people that at the stage door. If I get a chance to talk to Annaleigh tomorrow, I'll ask her.

Ah I gotcha. Do ask her if you get a chance! If I go on Tuesday, I'll try to ask AA and Dee, too. That is, if I'm not paralyzed with shyness .

If Erin's leaving LA, I'll be happy with either Laura or Emily as lead. If Teal also leaves, there are only three other pairs I wouldn't mind closing the show-- and each is more unlikely than the next!

As long as I see Erin in September, I'll be able to accept the fact that she's leaving... however, I will be more upset if Teal doesn't close LA...

I still have suspicions that Erin and Teal might close LA together... the producers just like to keep us in the dark, is all.

And a strong SF cast is necesarry as I'm planning on a few Wicked road-trips in the future.

And Im sorry, but Whoopi Goldberg is one of the most powerful actresses of all time! She opened alot of doors for african americans and is so much more than what she has been up to recently. I think its a little offensive to say things like that against someone who had to work twice as hard as most european actors to get roles during her time period. I know you didnt mean any harm but you have to take things like that into consideration

I don't mind Whoopi. I think she'd be a really good morrible, but can she sing? It kind of freaks me out that she doesn't have eyebrows.

I don't even think it would matter if she can sing or not. I mean, it'd be better if she wasn't talking her singing lines, but you know....it's happened.

I loooooooove Whoopi Goldberg, one of my most favorite actresses! Funny thing, my mom got Jumping Jack Flash on DVD and Whoopi is in it and so is Carol Kane! Carol is sooo young and actually looks attractive haha! Anyway, I think Whoopi can pull of Morrible. She'd be awesome and would bring in A LOT of peopl to see Wicked. She sang in Sister Act, so yeah, I think her singing is good enough for Morrible!

Actually, you really don't have to take things like that into consideration. Just because she's helped make positive strides for African-American actors doesn't mean everyone has to like her.

And doing all that doesn't necessarily make her a powerful actor. I mean, I like her, and think she's very good, but I definitely wouldn't say she's one of the most powerful actresses by far.

I never said they had to like her. The things that were said about her were so very disrespectful. If They would have said "Oh no! I dont like Whoopi Goldberg too much and wouldnt like to see her as Morrible" that would have been okay. And the fact that she has helped make positivei strides for african-american actors means she deserves respect! If someone would have said those things about Idina Shoshana, or Eden it would have been the end of the world. And Whoopi Goldberg deserves MUCH more respect than they do!

I am curious to know who you think is better? I think her acting in "The Color Purple" was some of the best acting to date

I personally loved The Color Purple... it just seems to me that Whoopi (and Oprah) have become very self-important and arrogant since then. I didn't say anything about Whoopi as an actress... and if you would've read a later post of mine (I'm not sure if you did), the term "ugly" was directed towards her personality.

First off, I thought she did well in TCP-please don't take it was though I didn't like her in it. We watched it in English last semester. Second, I honestly think Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, and Cate Blanchett (especially) are better actors. They make me feel emotions that Whoopi never has.

Anyways, this is your opinion, so that's fine.

But I'd also like to know why this conversation is continuing in this section.

I'd love that. Well, I'd love for Katie (Adams) to take over. I don't really have any feelings towards or against Julie.

I'd like to see Julie Reiber and Katie Rose Clark. I'd love to see Erin, too, however I have a feeling her stint with Wicked will be over after LA.

So, I'm seeing the tour when it hits Atlanta, and with all these rumors...Should I expect the current cast to have changed by the time it gets to me??

When is it in Atlanta? Sorry I don't know.

As long as it's before November, Carmen, Katie, Cliffton, DeeDee, and the Boq and Morrible will be there... I believe the Tour is getting a new Wizard in around four weeks, though... I could be wrong. And whenever anything's set in stone, I update the Cast Replacement Histories... they're pinned for each production.

That was all confusifying. Steph said that Annaleigh will be there for 3 months since they are ending their run or something to that extent.
David's speech for Lisa was even more confusifying since he said that Lisa would be there for 6 months.
I think they were both way too emotional to even know what they were talking about.

So it seems pretty confirmed (see L.A. thread) that Megan is returning to L.A. Wicked. I know this is wishful thinking, but has there been any buzz on SJB taking on Elphaba in L.A.? I know it is a long shot, and there has been other Elphaba casting rumours, but it would be amazing.

I was just thinking the same thing! They'd be my dream pairing, and I'd absolutely book a flight to LA to see those two together in Wicked! However, my guess is that Steph will go back to NYC, and I'm also hearing rumors (just gossip, nothing substantiated) that either Shoshana or Eden could be closing out LA....I guess anything's possible, we'll see how this goes! Meanwhile, I'll start researching airfare costs to LA....
