No.

Emily Rozek has been rumored to be returning for awhile, but dismissed after Laura Woyasz got the job. Maybe this time? It is however on oz.wikia.com as well. Who knows.

I like Stephanie torns smile.gif idk who I would want to see more when I go, Steph or Mandy haha

She's a very good Glinda - I felt she was over the top but that other than that, she did a very good job.

Same. Her performance grew on me the second time I saw her, when I sat a lot closer to the stage to see her facial expressions.

I wish that they would get Glindas that can really hit those high notes, like Cheno did. Though I suppose high sopranos are rare?

I'm looking foreward to seeing what Natalie will bring to the role now that she will be lead.

If Stephanie is bumped to s/b then maybe Felicia Ricci or Alyssa Fox is just being rehearsed in SF. Just thinking. Maybe Vicki is really the new s/b. Who knows!

I think it is more than likely Vicki Noon will be the next standby on Broadway, however she deserves much more than that. Seeing as she technically has been considered lead for quiet sometime by the producers during Teal's health scare. She must perform the role more than any other Standby ever has. Obviously there must be a reason why she is still in San Fran. I see her either taking over on Broadway after Mandy, after Marcie on the 2nd Tour, after Donna on the first, or after Eden departs. Who knows where this may lead. I say 2009-2010 is the year of the Elphaba. Theres been more changes this year than any other. IMO.

Personally, I'd love to see Vicki come to Broadway as standby and have Stephanie as U/S simply because I would feel that for the first time in a while the Broadway company would have three Elphabas that I could walk into the theater and it wouldn't matter one bit to me who I was going to see as they all would be that amazing! As much as I'm excited for Mandy, I've been wanting to see Vicki since near the beginning of the SF run and getting to see her would be simply marvelous! Personally, my dream pairs would be seeing Mandy and Katie & Vicki and Laura smile.gif

Vicki and Laura would be fantastic together! Laura is by FAR the most underated Glinda I have ever seen.

I'm not sure because I don't keep very up-to-date on the San Fran production, but she can't possibly have gone on more than Jemma in Sydney, can she?
ForGood
If you combine Melbourne and Sydney, no way.

agreed.

Yeah, Jemma definitely performed more, but Vicki did perform a good bit - and the producers probably did NOT consider her temporary lead - they would've printed her in the playbill if they did. She was a standby filling in while the lead had extensive vocal illness. Though I hope and feel like she should be promoted, performing a lot does not guarantee it.

However, although you prove a good point, Teal was still under contract as well. So that could be a reason why she was billed in the show during her leave of absence. Although she may not have been considered lead by the producers, the company surely did. It was like what 4 or so months? However just like Jemma, (who is now lead even if that means alternating) definitely deserves lead. Hopefully her time will come after Eden leaves, and if not another production will be her next calling smile.gif I'm thinking 1st Tour, or 2nd after Marcie departs.

She left the show from March 17th until May 2nd.

Vicki for Broadway (:

I'm pretty sure everyone knew this already, but Nicholas said at the San Fran stage door on Tuesday that Vicki is leaving next Sunday, the Sunday after Teal leaves.

I tried searching for if that's known already, but I only found speculation. Sorry if you already know it!

Ooh! Could this be where Carrie is going?

that's what I was imagining as well. Or possibly the 2nd u/s for Elphaba won't be needed.
albear98
Could this somehow mean that Jennifer really is leaving, Vicki's taking her place, and Carrie potentially might be going to S/F. I personally think the 2nd Elphaba understudy in S/F wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, especially if Eden has a reduced schedule like Kendra basically does right now.

Well, that would certainly be interesting. In a lot of ways she sounds similar to Eden - compare their riffs in No Good Deed for example.

What do you mean by "reduced schedule like Kendra basically does right now"??? What kind of reduced schedule does Kendra have and Eden will have???
ForGood
Kendra does six shows a week.

Why and since when?
ForGood
I don't know, but she probably wants to conserve her energy. I say kudos to Kendra for taking care of herself rather than pushing herself too hard.

Whoa, that's a shocker that she's leaving! Perhaps they won't have a standby, just two understudies...

I think Felicia is going to the 2NT.

Also, I have a strong feeling we'll see Angel Reda back as standby eventually when there's an opening. smile.gif

She wouldn't fit. With Christine, Anne and Marcie.
Fritz
What's your source on Felicia?
WinkiePrince
I could have sworn I heard somewhere that Jennifer had extended her contract as standby, but I could be wrong.
DearOldShiz
Felicia JUST learned her track in San Francisco. Since the tracks are different everywhere, I doubt they'd move her that soon.

Yeah, a standby and 2 u/s doesn't make much sense to me, which makes me not put much faith in the Carrie to SF rumor.
aelphaba
^ I must admit, I'd love to see Carrie.

But yeah, Felicia's brand-new, just learned everything. This whole thing about another understudy coming in seems ridiculous-- they wouldn't have wasted all that time and training on Felicia just to have her sitting out shows. Maybe when Vicki leaves, the new person that's rumored to be coming in as u/s will really be a standby.

The standby + 2 u/s also seems weird to me, so who knows what's up. I guess only time will tell.
DearOldShiz
I'm not sure I actually believe this Alyssa Fox. Hasn't she been "cast" a few times now?
inick1224
Maybe crazy but perhaps Felicia is only an Elphaba u/s for the time being until Alyssa arrives(ed?). The same kind of thing with Natalie Weiss and Anne Brummel.

I don't believe Natalie even had costumes... She was a VERY temporary thing. Felicia posted a picture of her Elphaba costumes next to Eden's Elphaba costumes last week

Yeah, the whole thing seems a bit fishy.
degeorgetitanic
I still think that (if) Alyssa comes in, their going to prep her for US, and give the Standby position to Felicia. THere's no way they could not have a Elphaba standby. I know they did this sorta with Jenna Green/Maria Eberline but I think that with a role like Elphaba, the need to have an actress be RIGHT there ready to go...rather then have to pull one from ensemble, stick a swing in, get the other one out of costume into makeup and then another costume then back onstage, compared to just getting the standby into makeup and push her onstage if needed be.
WinkiePrince
I feel like Alyssa Fox is this mystical creature who always seems to appear when an Elphaba (lead, standby, or understudy) leaves a production, only to disappear as quick as she appeared.

Reading through a lot of these notes, my best guess is that someone's just messing around in the rumor mill again.

Okay I'm going to make updated predictions. I think, just in my mind it would be cool if Carrie went to San Francisco and replaced Vicki as the Elphaba stand-by with Eden as lead and Felicia as the u/s. In the meantime, Mandy would be taking over for Dee as Broadway lead and Vicki would replace Jennifer as the Broadway standby and Stephanie Torns would remain the Broadway understudy. In the meantime, Marcie would have extended on the 2NT, Anne will become standby and Christine will be the u/s. The only Elphabas this solution would leave up in the air would be our 1NT ladies, which could bring in fresh blood, promotions, and/or some recycling, only time will tell but personally this is how I hope and would love for the situation to play out!

IT can't be a rumor if Alyssa Fox herself posted in on her twitter. however, it was deleted the next day. Fishy aye?
albear98
Perhaps there was a misunderstanding, and even so it doesn't necessarily guarentee that they had a set contract in stone which may mean this wouldn't affect the very next cast change.

Very good point. Who knows. I expect her to be joining soon, however I will not hold my breath to it.
albear98
Perhaps and this is just continued theorizing, she may be moving to SF, rehearsing, starting her ensemble track and continue learning her Elphaba track until Eden leaves and there's an opening. Carrie could take over as lead, Felicia could take over as standby and Alyssa would be the understudy. So maybe it would be for the next, next cast change. Plus they would have her there learning the track just in case of an emergency which never hurts.
WinkiePrince
I don't know where I read/heard this, but I'm sticking to this until proven wrong: Jennifer DiNoia extended her contract and is not leaving any time soon.
