It isn't like they're forcing her to sign a contract. IMO Megan should realise that fresh talent is needed in the role. Just my opinion.
I understand what you are saying and although I see your point it is not realistic why would Megan (Or any other human being) say..... "hmm....Im making over 4thousand dollars a week, but let me give that up and give my paycheck to a fresh face." I dont think anyone is going to do that

^ EXACTLY! Acting, especially stage acting is a tough job to get. SO many actors spend their time cleaning tables at McDonalds while they wait for a job to open up. Megan loves the role, loves the show, it's a high paying job, and it just means a lot to her. She will eventually get out of the role, but it's a paying job, and 3 months is no problem. Anyway, I'm excited to see her again.

Sho or Eden. 100%. I'm praying it's Shoshana, and that Eden will return to the Pantages in the RENT tour next year. Shoshana and Megan = MAGIC. Despite what everyone says, I think Wicked for 3 months is the BEST way to promote he new CD. I can tell you that I'm more likely to buy it their at the Pantages than online! Mine, too... and then I would spend a small fortune on a plane ticket, hotel room, and tickets to an entire weekend of shows to see Shoshana and Megan together again. Oh, if for nothing else than to experience Shoshana's "fly" scream and broom thrust live again... and really anything Shoshana at all. Watching Shoshana run out onstage for the first time is still one of my favorite theatrical moments ever.

God, I'm really hoping it's her. Quite frankly, I think she is the most likely candidate. Eden's already said she knows nothing about coming back, and that it was still in the air, etc.
Plus, I think 3 months is PERFECT to help promote her CD--the run wouldn't be that long, and her CD would definitely sell at Pantages alone.
Plus her first single comes out October 7th, so there's time in between to build up the hype.

Wow...talk about twisting one's words, Jess. NEVER did she say that and she has said on numerous occasions that she's grateful for the experience Wicked gave her and her fan base gained from it. Shoshana is a very kind and loving person and is very generous to her fans.

Guys, I seriously doubt that Sho will be closing the show. Like she told me last time the rumors started, she has no plans of ever returning to Wicked. She's got a LOT on her plate right now, and while it would be nice to have the extra promotion for her CD, that can happen without her performing; they sell (or at least did earlier this year) Idina's CD "I Stand" at the Oriental, and she wasn't even ever in that production.
Wickedly*Defying*Gravity
Sep 19 2008, 04:49 AM
^ But Idina's already super famous, and...well....Shoshana isn't. Especially in LA, Wicked would help Shoshana IMO. More people, (even new) people would find out about her, buy her CD after the show, love her, tell their friends, etc. etc. It won't hurt her to come back for 3 months, especially since it's with Megan and it WILL help her CD. 100%
samiam1432
Sep 19 2008, 04:52 AM
Prior to seeing the show, I knew who Idina was, but didn't know she was the original Elphie. I just thought she was "that girl from RENT". I didn't even notice her CD was available. I don't think just having Sho's CD sitting at the merch booth w/o her name on the playbill would do her much good. Just my opinion.
bahrtalicious
Sep 19 2008, 04:55 AM
^ Really. You think Idina is "super famous." I love Idina to death, but she's not famous in the least, except maybe within RENT and Wicked circles. WBR stinks at promotion (and do NOT even get me started on WBR); the people selling her CD at the Oriental didn't even know who she was!

Here are some interesting tidbits:
On October 27 (the same night as the Wicked NYRP benefit), the Meg 'an Sho Show is making it's NYC debut at Birdland
On November 1, Shoshana is performing at a Wicked benefit with Katie Adams in Fort Myers, FL.
http://www.fl-arts.org/wizard_site/index.htmlOn November 3, the Meg 'an Sho Show is playing in Ontario, CA.
So Shoshana is clearly, not done with Wicked after all
ETA: It also says that Katie is currently performing Glinda on the National Tour of Wicked. Will she be taking over for Katie Clarke?

Everyone keeps referencing Shoshana's saying she's done with "Wicked," but let's look at facts. She and Megan, prior to doing the Meg an' Sho show, said that part of the reason they decided to do it was because they had assumed they were going to get the chance to share the stage as Elphaba and Glinda again (one can presume in LA), but ended up being unable to. As such, I do think it's impossible to rule out the chance that Shoshana and Megan may close out the LA sit-down.
And I would flip. Absolutely flip. And go completely broke. And then I would cry when Shoshana ran onstage. And then I would cry again when she went up in the air. And then I would be very happy that I'd gotten to see her more than twice. (Seriously, my adoration for Shoshana is such that I'm still in a state of disbelief over the fact that I got to see her perform live... now if only this freaking hurricane would not have stopped me from seeing Kristy Cates live in "Unbeatable"...)
