Well, I (sadly) didn't think I'd like Briana Yacavone as Nessarose, but she had me hooked by Act II.

Wow...I had thought most of the users here could come up with at least somewhat better reasons for disliking a performer.

Funny, because I find Aaron to be the most bland Fiyero I've ever seen...and I've seen plenty. And obviously WICKED should be cast on looks, and not talent. Seriously, GET OVER IT.

I don't have an opinion on Aaron or Kevin, but I agree that people could be cast based on talent. Not because someone is "hot" and someone is "gross."

Kevin was...tolerable. I have no interest in seeing him again, but he wasn't as TERRIBLE as everyone makes him out to be. He is an attractive person, just in a whole different way than Aaron.

Although I do agree with this for the most part - there does need to be a degree of shallowness to casting. Let's face it, a tall-thin-modellike blonde wouldn't make a very good Tracy Turnblad just as a short-shall we say "plump" girl wouldn't make a great Elle Woods. People need to have the talent - absolutely - but they need to look the part, too.

Yeah, I agree with that. I was talking specifically about Fiyero. Sorry I wasn't clear.

Personally, I don't find Kevin to be "gross", however I do think that it isn't completely out of line for looks to be considered when casting the role of Fiyero. The actor playing the role needs to give me a reason to believe that Glinda and Elphaba would both instantly fall head over heels in love with him. Since the character itself is given absolutely nothing to work with (cheesy song, terrible dance moves, even cheesier lines, no reason for the audience to care about him), his looks are really all he has.

I actually think Kevin is extremely handsome. He's not hot like Aaron and others have been, but I find him very handsome.

I saw the pictures, and he is not ugly at all. I think he is very attractive.

First off if you want your "opinion" to have any credibility, I would hope you would hit spell check once or twice.

Secondly, because this is not an English grammar thread, I'm glad Kevin's coming back. He was my first Matthew (the role deemed "the hot one", ironically) in Altar Boyz, and I'm thrilled to pieces he's getting such an opportunity to show off his talents.

Thirdly, my little sister is going to NY for the first time to see Wicked, and she is going to flip a lid when she find out Kevin will be her first Fiyero. Flip. A. Lid.

It's kind of like judging Kevin's Fiyero because of his looks: if you look at something on the surface and dismiss it because outwardly it's not your cup of tea instead of looking at the true message, you miss out. Just don't want them to have other people miss out on what they want to say

Having seen both Aaron and Kevin with Nicole and Alli, I can tell you there is much more chemistry between Alli/Nicole/Kevin than Alli/Nicole/Aaron as well.

I have seen them too and completely disagree with you. Oh wait no I haven't. I have seen Kevin with Marcie and Julie and there was no chemisty there at all but there was a ton of chemistry between Kevin and Chelsea. Aaron set the place on fire with whomever his Elphie was, be it Kerry,Julie or Nicole. Alli just has chemistry with everyone.

I personally loved Aaron's Fiyero. I thought he had the talent and the looks.
I won't judge Kevin, as I haven't seen him.

I will say however, that I have seen pictures, and he made a gorgeous Marius.

Okay, I know this is probaby totally untrue but I'll throw it out anyway....on a youtube video somebody said that there is a possibility of Julia Murney returning to Wicked on Tour.

"It's just a possibility. I have a friend who knows someone who works with Playbill and before doing an open-end run of Wicked, they're planning on doing another National Tour and Julia is considering doing it."

Is this total BS, or is there a chance of it? I think Julia's far too good to return, but...

I'm 99% sure it's total BS.

An open-ended Toronto production and a Third National Tour, I'm sure, are probably already in the works. These producers want more money. The SF production could close as early as January, so I'm going to predict that a new production could/will open sometime in 2010. Julia Murney, if she returns to Wicked, would probably NOT do another Tour.

Are Nicole and Alli contracted through summer? I have a feeling they'll probably extend through September...

I also have a hunch that the next Broadway Elphaba will be extremely unexpected. (Again).

I believe Nicole's contract ends in July. No clue whether or not she's extended, but I'd imagine they'd leave together.

Like Wicked Fanatic said, it might not mean Teal is leaving. Maybe they're just wanting two standby girls since Vicki is getting a lot of action.

If Vicki replaces Teal and Merideth replaces Vicki, they'll need a new tour standby. Or maybe Merideth will just be there until Teal gets better. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
