Benefit show?

I saw the show on 7/25 and Kerry sounded "off". This was the first time I saw her, so maybe I'm not used to her voice, but it didn't sound right.

To raise money for the Actor's Fund of America they added an extra performance.

Julie is Elphaba for the matinee and the added 8pm Actors Fund Benefit!

YAY!!! Can't wait to see her again!!

If I didn't already have plans today, I'd be there for both shows!!!! Julie is just that good :-)

According to Julie they keep changing their minds about tonight, she doesn't know if she'll be on after all... Maybe, Maybe not!

Hi is kerry ill?

She seems to have been off for a while (correct me if I'm wrong!) I hope she's alright...

Kerry had recently done over 3 weeks in a row until this past Saturday night.

Saturday and Sunday isn't a long time... Every time Kerry is off people are assuming she's sick again, maybe she is, and maybe she isn't! For all we know these could be holiday dates that she hasn't released. She was always very very very slow in London at posting her holiday dates on her website (it always amused her that when she told us we'd usually already know) and she may not think anyone cares in NY so isn't bothering. I know people have said she shouldn't have dates because she's there for a short amount of time but only Kerry and her management etc know what deal she has. I also know that Julie posted that prior to Sunday’s show that they kept changing their minds about who was going on but it was never clear if that was her or Kerry or Chelsea. Sorry if this is sounding pissy but honestly, I’m just fed up of people constantly assuming she’s sick again (even if it’s only in a concerned way) or that something is wrong, I wish people would just leave her alone to get on with it and stop speculating!

So has Kerry done a full 8 show week yet?

No one will be more dissapointed/upset about all the set backs (due to illness??) than Kerry herself, making your broadway debut is a huge thing!

So this weekend will definately be Amanda Rose's first time going on as Nessa. I wanna see Katie as Glinda. I have never seen a standby Glinda yet.

Kendra was out last night. I assume it was Katie that went on but who knows.

The guy at SD yesterday said that Kendra is sick. That's why Katie has been going on. If not her then it's Heather's turn since Lindsay got to go on for the 4 days in May.

Kerry was NOT feeling good at the matinee yesterday either but she stayed on and IMO it was the best Act 2 from her that I ever heard.

I know that today's matinee had Kerry on, and Katie was Glinda. Amanda Rosa was also Nessa.

Not sure if he's on all week but Kyle Dean Massey is Fiyero on Tuesday.

Julie is on as Elphaba today (3pm).

I just got a text from elphieDG who's at the theatre and there was a midshow change. Julie came on at intermission.

She'll be on for the evening show as well.

I just got off the phone with elphieDG and Kerry left the show right after doing her toss tosses at the beginning of the classroom scene or it was right after Popular. I don't remember what elphieDG said but it was right before the classroom scene...LOL. Julie came running out to do the rest of the show obviously . It also wasn't sold out today which is AMAZING...lol. So I'm thinking that she wasn't feeling well and told them to get Julie to the theatre(since she typically doesn't stay at the there to begin with) and get ready to go on. But that's just what I think.

Kerry left after Popular. She ran off and when the next classroom scene started, Julie ran on and started doing the "toss toss" and then Fiyero tells her "You don't need to do that, you know?". It was totally unexpected because Kerry sounded pretty strong. One or two times her voice was scratchy and she coughed while sitting on the bed during Popular, but she didn't sound sick. So, when Julie came on I was surprised and really excited. In my many, many times seeing Wicked, I've never had a mid-show cast change! Julie was fantastic.... so good that, right after the show, I went to the box office and bought a ticket for the evening show too. Julie was amazing again.

I could have been rambling a little in all my excitement so it might have been hard to keep track of exactly what I said :-)

The fact that the matinee wasn't sold out was so weird. It is the first time ever I didn't see the "sold out" sign up. In the end, it seemed like most (if not all) seats were full, but there was no cancellation line. You could just go up and buy tickets. The evening show was back to normal... sold out!

I didn't see the show today (Sunday) but heard from someone who won the lottery that Chelsea was on.

What happened to Kerry is what happened to Eden once. Eden left after the "Popular" scene in one show and then Julie performed the rest of the night.

The same thing happened in Chicago on the 3rd with Dee and Jenny.

Off topic slightly, have there been any mid-show Glinda switches??

There was one in the Chicago production about a year ago. I remember reading posts about it in the Chicago forum. I can't recall hearing of any others, it's certainly less common than mid-show Elphaba switches.

On Julie's Facebook, she says that she's home. Home is in Washington. So if Kerry is out anytime soon, it'll be Chelsea going on. No, I don't know when Julie is coming back.

If Kerry and Chelsea were both struck down with the plague or something, I think *probably* Julie would cut her holiday short...
