I have a question. It might sound stupid, but I've been wondering this for a while now and need to have an answer! Okay. So... in WWOTE, after "Elphaba" has turned Boq into the tinman, Nessa yells at her to go find Fiyero before it's too late. Why exactly does she have to find Fiyero? It's just what I've been thinking. Let me know if you've got an answer.

Because she likes him and wants him but knows he's about to get married to Glinda and so she needs to find him before it's too late.

I thought that Nessa yells "you're going to find Fiyero not to help some monkeys"?.
Or something to that extent.

ok. i think they added that part when the uk production started like the part when elphaba meets fiyero at shiz... yeah. that's probably it. anyways. i think she knows that elphaba is in love with him, and that he is looking for elphaba. something to that extent.

Um, the point is Nessa doesn't want her to go, you missed the point:

Elphaba- "......what happened to those monkeys is my fault"
Nessa- "Your not going to save some monkeys, your going to find Fiyero, but its too late......Elphaba please don't leave me!"
Elphaba- "NESSA! I have done everything i could for you and it hasn't been enough....and nothing ever will be..."
Nessa- "No, Elphaba wait.......ELPHABA!"

So as you can see, no where does Nessa say that she wants Elphaba to go find Fiyero, she's kind of dissing her like "Girl, you must be trippin', you don't wanna save monkeys, u wanna go find yo maaan!" does my ghettoness help you understand it more? lol

its a snarky remark thats meant to hurt. She says that to make Elphaba angry. Elphaba tries to leave Nessa by saying "I have to go to the emerald city, what happened to those monkeys is my fault i have to set them free" And Nessa replies with "Your not going to save some monkeys, your going to find Fiyero, but its too late."" basically shes saying your a god damn liar you dont give a crap about those monkeys, your trying to see that boi but he doesnt want you.

Yeah, Elphaba only tries to go to see Fieryo as its only then that she finds out he's going to get married.

In the pre-UK version didn't she say something like "I have to go, I have to find some way to clear my name" I think I prefer that to the monkey line and all the Fiyero talk.

It's sarcasm and meant to be hurtful - Nessarose knows that Elphaba loves Fiyero, but wants to rub it in harder that Elphaba cannot be with him.
