Any possibility it would go to Berlin? If it does would the cast stay or would they recast? In the case of a recast Pia Douwes has to do it. Yes I know she is old, but have any of you heard her DG on that "video website"? Pia is my EUROPEAN idol..only second to Eden Espinosa. Pia as Elphaba would be a dream come true, I would be on a plane to Berlin in an instant if I knew when her first show was.
Pia for Berlin Elphie 2009 or 2010!!

I don't think Wicked will ever head to Berlin.
And, afaIk Pia was offered the role of Elphaba but she refused since she said she was too old.

maybe not in the near future but i doubt we can say it will NEVER be in berlin.

Since musicals never have a huge success in Berlin I doubt they will ever run the risk of putting such a mega-budget production to Berlin. But yeah, never say never, although I think it won't happen.

About Pia, she's too old. And She's playing in Sunset Boulevard in Holland now... Since that production is going for at least one year... And I hope that Pia will stay in Holland, I hope I'll get a chance to see her in Sunset Boulevard

Is Stuttgart closing soon? Is that a stupid question?

The only city that has a chance of becoming the new Emerald City in Germany is Hamburg.
Stuttgart and Hamburg are the two cities where musicals have been most succesfull over the last 20 years in Germany.
They won't risk to lose a fortune taking it to Berlin or Munich.
There may be a third city... Essen. But I think Hamburg is more likely.
But thank God for now it will stay in Stuttgart (at least early 2010 perhaps even longer). And thank God that Pia realized that this role is not for her.

Pia NEVER considered the role, just because she sang it at a concert doesn't mean she intended to play the role. So please give her a break. Pia did wonderful work with other parts and sang two songs of Wicked (which sounded great, in my opinion) - as did many other Musicalactresses.

Why are you so upset? What did I say negative about her?
She was offered the role and said in an interview that she thought about it but realized that it was not for her anymore. It takes a lot of character not to take such an offer, so I do not see your point why you are getting so upset...

Because you wrote "Thank God she realized" which sounds like she considered it, what she never did.

She said in an interview that she thought about it. That's a fact.

They already have their famous musicals, but Munich for example doesn't have anything!
I get worked up about that... hrrr...

Yes, but Wicked is too expenisve to risk a flop.
In Hamburg they know that musicals work.
