hey christy i have image ready and when i go to open a clip to start making the banner it doesnt show up in my files... is there something special you save the clips to?

I forget, some Wicked xanga, obviously. I just saw it and was like 'Woah thats awesome!' and saved it.

Um......how do you make the moving avvies? I know some of you use Windows Movie Maker, and I have made movies on there, but I can't figure out how to get them on here. Can someone give me the steps they follow, please?

Ok, some long winded problems for you! lol

A banner I made with a moving bit turned out great, but was 812kb which is just too much, so I had to optimize to get it down to 400kb's and the quality of the end banner was rubbish, pretty much all the colours had gone and it was really grainy. And then to make it worse, whenever I uploaded it to my photobucket it didn't move, it was just the picture rather than the animated banner, even though it's saved as a gif file and is the right size. It's very confusing. (I'm using Adobe Image Ready and photoshop 7)
Any ideas anyone?

If you're using Photoshop anyway.
Select>All
Edit> Stroke
A little options box appears. 15px gives you an okish size border, if you want it bigger increase the 'px' size. Click on the colour box to choose your colour. Location>Center, Mode>Normal, Opacity>100%

Oh and for moving Avvies, you probably want to try Paintshop's Gif animator or Photoshops Image Ready. Then take frame by frame screen caps of the animation you want (about 10 frames in total for an avator) Then use the animation wizard.

how do you resize and mirror/flip image w/ adobe psp7.0

Resize:
Got to Image on the top toolbar, and go down to Image size, you can resize it in there by pixels or cm's and stuff.

Mirror/flip:
Again, go to Image and down to Rotate canvas.

when i do that is flips/mirriors/resizes the whole banner!?!?!

on jasc psp it says to change a layers opacity move the opacity slider...
where is the opacity slider?

You need to just have the picture that you want highlighted then. You must have your banner as the image you're working on and that's why it's resizing the whole thing. If you minimize your banner and only have the image you want to resize and mirror on the clipboard then that's all it will change.

Whatever picture you want to make transparent make sure it's highlighted. Then go to the layers menu at the top, go down to 'promote to layer', then your layer will be called 'layer1' then go to properties (in the same layer menu) and a little window will come up that has the opacity slider and blend method in it.

Oooh, and look at this I just did with those very same tools....
I may just have to make a banner out of this!

do you use psp or adobe?

paint shop pro will have the boxes on the right hand side. there will be a slider that will say 100 (it is grey and fades to white). just drag it to the left to make the image more see through (it's called opacity)...how much you can see

I have photoshop, and I just blur it. With the tool that looks like a teardrop.

Also, how do you tint pictures? Like, make them all greenish, etc? Never mind! Figured it out!

sorry this has taken me so long to respond. i didn't see it

to chance the opacity in photoshop, click on the layer you want to make more see through (so...the one that will be less visible) and there is a pic of an EYE up in the right hand of the box your layers are found in. it should say 100%. just highlight the 100% part and make it a smaller number....75 and up works pretty well for banners and stuff.

How do I get my banners in my signature?

Load them onto a photo hosing service (I use xanga- my blog! lol not working long-term) and get the URL. Then... someone else finish!
