What do you think the best seats (well general area) are at Gershwin Theater? I'm going sometime this summer, and want to know what row and section you think is best to have! thanks!

The first few rows of the orchestra or the mezzanine, I think. Either one, you have a great view and can see everything. Farther back in the orchestra you can't see the top of the stage [Glinda in her bubble until she gets lower, the dragon, etc] and in the back of the mezz...well, yeah. Haha.

i went to see idina in september'04.

my seats were row B orch. seats 114-118 aisle seats. INCREDIBLE seats!

but from what it looked like, it seems theres not really a bad seat in the house. unless you get far back orch on the side or in the back mezzanine.

hope this helps!

I've only been to the Gershwin once and it was to see Riverdance and not Wicked. (its such a neat theatre!). my family got second-row dead-center orchestra seats. the were great! we were lucky because we got to see the performers expressions and everything. it made the show even better!

Ok so at the Gershwin, the orchestra section is the very front section? If you have front row seats, do you feel like you have to crane your neck back to watch it? Thanks!

I had row a seats dead center, that was 5th or 6th row from the stage. I had no problems seeing anything. The very first row is lottery ticket seats and people I have talked to say that it is not uncomfortable at all to see anything there.

Actually, the far back orch was not terrible at all. I saw the OBC, in row ZZ in a removable handicapped chair and other than missing the dragon (Which while cool isn't that essential to your viewing pleasure) you don't miss much. In fact, I saw a matinee, with Cheno in a neckbrace (I had NO idea there was a catfight until I saw the show with Sho a year later) And during DG, Idina's mike cut out (you could hear the thing go) while lifting, and I could still hear her all the way back.

I sat in the front Mezz(like 4th row or something) It wasn't too bad.I wasn't as bad as I thought. You could see fine.

Orchestra, Row B, Center seat. I had that, and it was THE BEST VIEWING EVER!! It felt like everyone was performing for me (i know it sounds cheesy).

I’ve been all over the orch and in front mezz and I have to say that my fav seats are front mezz (the first row in front mezz or side cc right or left) and row g in orch. The lottery seats are amazing as well but very close but not as close as the color purple! They scared me at the color purple! I felt like they were going to fall on me that’s how close the seats were! But it was still a cool feeling even though it was a little weird at times having the actors sooooo close during some scenes. But anyways back to wicked the partial view seats are good. They get you really close without paying a lot of money but you miss some things. Not important things but if you see it from a different angle you’ll notice things you missed when you were sitting in the PV seats. ( so I don’t recommend them if it’s your first time…which is what I did but I had my reasons for that..':notme:') But really all the seats seem pretty good.
