I think I'm going to have to disagree here. Eden was awesome! Now, of course, I've never seen Stephanie so I can't really say for sure but I really thought Eden did a beautiful job. She was so amazing!

Allthough I like Idina very much and I'm a big fan of hers, I voted for Stephanie. She's simply amazing.

I voted for Ana! She's the only one I've "seen" but she's still AMAZING!

I picked Stephanie because she does a awesome job as Elphie and also because Block Heads rule 8)

I think Idina is Elphie, but Steph is really close.

Definetly Idina. Her characteristics are best...Singing wise, it is Shoshana all the way, with Eden a close second.

Idina. See, I have this thing where whenever I see a picture of Idina, hear her singing (as Elphaba) and so on, I see/ hear Elphaba. And though everyone else who is or has played Elphaba is amazing too, to me I don't see/hear Elphaba, I see/hear another actress playing Elphaba, if that makes any sense....maybe just cuz she was the first Elphie I saw, or maybe just cuz she's amazing.....or both.

wow, i posted that before i saw Sho and Jenna. Now i would say Jenna is the best.

I would have to pick shoshana, because all the times i saw wicked i saw it with sho. My vote was between Idina and Sho, the thing is i never saw idina perform as Elphaba( i wish i did, my dad did and didn't tell me about it) so i can't say she is my favorite!

Idina Menzel. There is no question. She is the epitome of Elphaba. She had all of the abilities. She could act the role perfectly and sing the score beautifully. She was so amazing. There is no doubt in my mind and no other Elphaba has even compared to her in my opinion.

It's really hard for me to pick one because all of them are so different. I love what each of them puts into the role and I love all of their voices.

Anyways, I chose SJB. She just....IS ELPHABA. Srsly, her NGD is SCARY and she's just amazing.

however, I love Sho and Eden so it was REALLY hard to chose!

Gosh, I'd give anything to see her again. <3 SHO! I think she has the best voice of all of the Elphies, and like I've said MANY TIMES :ha: I like her attitude as Elphie. She's short, and sarcastic, and I just fell in love with the portrayal.

I never saw Idina live, and I would LOVE to see her in London when she's there, but from what I've heard on bootlegs, and even on the soundtrack, I don't think her voice is as strong as Sho's or Steph's. But I'm sure she's amazing, too...probably why she's winning this poll right now! haha

BUT, I love Sho to pieces. She will always be my Elphaba, no matter how many people I see! :heart:

Shoshana is and always will be my all time favorite, but Stephanie J Block and Eden Espinosa both run PAINFULLY close seconds, and Julia comes in right on their tails, lol.

Although I love all the Elphies... none will compare to Ana for me. I really love Steph, Sho, and Eden though... Just not half as much as the great Gasteyer.

Eden has the elphaba look but either idina or steph have the voice for elphaba

Ana Gasteyer. She IS Elphaba to me. It's easiest for me to explain in list format.

1. She was my first Elphaba
2. She LOOKS like how I thought Elphaba to the role
3. She's like, completely different than any other Elphaba I've seen or heard, etc.
4. She has her own original take on the role, but somehow, once and a while I would get this "Margaret Hamilton revisited" vibe.
5. She's like, one of the edgiest Elphies! You wouldn't think that after thinking Nessa's disability was her fault, her mother dead, later her father and sister dead, the wizard being a lie, and being an outcast make her happy! She was able to express her happiness when she had to and didn't overdo it or sugarcoat anything.
6. I LOVE her voice.
7. She's pretty short. At least, shorter than she seemed after watching SNL. (This doesn't make much sense? This fact makes me feel secure about being vertically challenged.)

WORD.

Except she was my second Elphie.. but once I saw her, there was no doubt about it, things just clicked.

i have to say steph. i LOVE idina, but steph's voice is just SOOOOOO STRONG! and she was also elphie before idina, although idina was in the OBC.
