Full cast with the following exceptions:
Morrible - Kathy Santen
Dillamond - Anthony Galde
Midwife - (I lost my playbill, but I want to say Robin something, lol
The announcer came on and I thought to myself, "This day really can't be here already, can it?"
NOMTW: Kendra got entrance applause. Something was different abount Kendra. She was her silly, whimsical self but she seemed more regal. Ensemble brought it home. She really nailed it tonight. The ensemble were all holding onto her longer and patting her arm as if to say "go get 'em girl."
DOS: Kerry got entrane applause. I love the way Kerry interacts with the students. It was great. Ensemble made it again.
TWAI: I love Kerry Ellis. Her interpretation of Elphaba and the small things she does really bring layers upon layers to the character. The way she tilts her head. She did this AMAZING riff at the end of TWAI on "things I've never felt." Sadly I can't describe it, but I'm sure if you use your imagination you can hear it.
WITF: They are comedy personified. They play so well off of one another. Superb ensemble again.
SB: Anthony really invents a new character for every role he plays. I can't say much about SB other than Anthony's Dillamond is really really great. He gets really angry.
DTL: Kerry was really angry at Aaron. Aaron was more sarcastic and snide than I remember. The new Boq is quite adorable, reminds me of Robb Sapp. He's really good, great comedic timing and a sweet munchkiny voice.
Popular: Kendra's normal quirky, hyper, omg-my-head-just-popped Popular. Kendra showed her frilly pink panties at the end. She really fed off the crowd as usual. She gave that last "as me" a really great belt.
INTG: Aaron and Kerry are a superb couple. They both look so lost and found at the same time. She whispers "don't wish, don't start" as Aaron and Kendra run across the bridge. My heart was breaking!
OSD/ASM: Ensemble, again, really did a great job tonight. PJ is growing on me extremely quicky as my favorite Wizard. He does the "helpless old flim flam man" act perfectly. This Chistery, whoever he was, was extremely loud.
DG: Kendra leaned her head against Kerry during Kathy's speech. I felt so bad for Kerry. She had this expression on her face (which I guess matched the mood of the song) that read "I can't believe this is it, it's happening." As they sang the "together" part of the song, you felt the connection that they have shared over the past few months. Kerry had this calm, cool and confident tone to her voice "she has nothign to do with it, I'm the one you want." She totally nailed the song. The perfect growl on "look to the western sky." She held out both "bring me down" for a long time. The ending was gorgeous, Kerry is Elphaba to me now and forever.
NOMTW®/TG: Kendra broke my heart. I've never seen her seem lost in this part. I could tell that she felt her whole world was crashing but she had to hold it together to save public face. She belted her usual ending to the song. Lindsay hit a great high note for her.
WWOTE: Cristy, the same ol' from her. I enjoy her, but she doesn't thrill me. She really was fierce here though. A lot more emotion and strength. The new Boq, Alex, is a good singer and more comedic than Ben. Kerry's chanting was chilling.
Wonderful: PJ's Wizard is so down to earth, knows his shortcomings and his actions show more of a 'humble' personality.
INTG®: Kendra hit a lowest low note. I was so heartbroken for her.
ALAYM: HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. They were so into eachother. At Fiyero's line "say theres no future for us a pair," Kerry recoiled away from him and he reached out and grabbed her reassuredly. The hottest ALAYM ever.
Cornfield Scene: It's worth to mention Jackie Chan has now taken over for Kendra in this scene. She does this crazy, wand twirling, walking forward and backward karate move. She's hysterrrrrical.
NGD: KERRY.NAILED.THIS.SONG. She was crazy, deranged, overcome with emotion. Strong and determined. She gave it all she had and it paid off. I wish I could describe it more, but if I love Kerry something will show up.
MOTWH: Standard. Love Kathy Santen.
FG: Now this is the one I was waiting for. This was by far the most interesting FG I've ever witnessed. They musically spoke some lines, it was great. It wasn't like they made up the song, but they placed the lyrics in different musical spots but it worked. I think they were fighting back losing it and did that very well. Kerry almost lost during "It well may be that we will never meet again." Again, something will show up.
BC/EFA Speech by Aaron. No other speeches.
It was such a great performance. I will say that you have to see it to feel it. I will miss you Kerry!!!!!
