Yep - this was during Stephanie J. Block's injury/illness.

Wow ohmy.gif I didn't knew that. The things you learn each day about Wicked!!!!!
Teal-Shade-of-Eden
Anne went on as standby for today's matinee. smile.gif

awww yay! go anne!
Fritz
Good for her - thrilled she's been on so quickly!
WhoaItsJonathan
Are we only counting Elphabas who have gone on? Because Christine Dwyer, Stephanie Torns (Broadway), Natalie Weiss, Anne Brummel (Chicago), are not listed.

Yes.
TheWesternSkies
she hasnt gone on yet but Alyssa Fox has her put in on Friday! I really hope I get to see her in San Fran before it closes. I wonder if she'll even go on. But maybe she'll go to another production

EDIT: she just tweeted her put in is postponed to next friday now....
ennaxor
Just noticed that it says "West End lead" for Ashleigh Gray, that should be standby instead.
ForGood
Oops, thanks for pointing that out.
WickedinNews
Woah, I could have sworn that she temporarily replaced Stephanie...
ForGood
Ashleigh? Nope, she was only in the London production.

You're probably thinking about when Stephanie almost had to temporarily replace her tongue.gif
imaginarypeanut
Nikki Davis-Jones can be added to the list, she's doing her first show right now smile.gif (and doing brilliantly, I hear)
TheWesternSkies
Alyssa Fox had her Elphie debut last night in San Francisco as understudy. So she can be added to the list too.
ForGood
Has Patrice gone on yet as lead in Sydney?

Edit: Why didn't I think to check the Sydney board? duh.gif
TheWesternSkies
My friend who saw the tour said Mariand Torres was on with Chandra!
Fritz
^ Did they say how she did?
TheWesternSkies
All I heard from them was shes fantastic!
Wicked_Dee
Christine Dwyer will soon get to be added for the 2NT.. her Elphie Debut is tonight wink.gif
ForGood
Updated.
Johnny
This was such a good idea, you really have EVERY Elphaba. MARIAND<3333333
Robert Upland
Just thought we should add the newest Elphaba. Melissa Joan Hart has a new show on ABC family called Melissa and Joey and on the show there is a cat named Elphaba smile.gif

Too funny
ForGood
Haha, it is a good name for a cat.
clockworkgirl21
I think you could add Ebata Masae, Megumi Hamada, and Asami Higuchi.

We know this much:

Megumi Hamada:
Originated Tokyo

Asami Higuchi:
Currently doing Osaka, was original standby and replacement for Tokyo

Ebata Masae:
Closed Tokyo, originated Osaka
ForGood
Added them. Any other info on Japanese Elphabas or Glindas would be great. smile.gif
clockworkgirl21
There is also Chiaki Kimura. I'm trying to find out for sure if she was a lead or just a stand by in Osaka, but right now I'm thinking lead, since they had an interview with her and have tons of photos and footage.
charlove
I'm pretty sure she was lead. When I was in Osaka I asked my Japanese friend to translate a Wicked poster for me, and I remember her name being on it.
ForGood
I'll add her as lead for now.
clockworkgirl21
Jess, it turns out that for Ebata Masae, Masae is her given name. So if you're listing them alphabetically by surname, she would be Masae Ebata.

My bad.
clockworkgirl21
Minami Okamura is Osaka's lead now. Looking out for photos of her!
clockworkgirl21
I think you forgot Natalie Weiss. Unless she never officially went on?

Also, will you add the Finnish and Danish productions?
ForGood
She never went on as Elphaba. Thanks for reminding me about Finland and Denmark. I'll try to keep up.
clockworkgirl21
Are you sure Natalie never went on? I think she's the one that everyone had the big fight over her acting. She also has a greenified pic, unless that was a stand in or something. Not saying you're wrong, I'm just asking if I might be thinking of someone else.
ForGood
99.9% sure. smile.gif The argument was about her acting in general, and the greenified pic must have been from her put-in.

I am 100% sure Natalie never went on haha wink.gif
Fritz
She never went on, and she never had a put-in. She told me this at the stagedoor on her last weekend.
clockworkgirl21
The following have gone on now...

Laura Bunting - Australian tour standby
Nikki Davis-Jones - West End standby
Stevie Tate-Bauer - West End understudy

Also, Zoe Gertz got married, and she's going by Zoe Jarrett now.
green*girl
Anna Thorén - Oberhausen alternate
Fritz
It's interesting to me how Australian actors & actresses tend to go by married name, while in America, they tend to retain their old last name.
clockworkgirl21
Oh, and Roberta Valentini is now lead in Oberhausen, since Willemijn left to rehearse in Holland.
clockworkgirl21
Masae Ebata is lead in Fukuoka now, too.
Kerri L. K.
If we're listing Laura Bunting as the Australian tour standby, we might want to mark Jemma Rix as the Australian tour lead. And Zoe Gertz performed May 18th, I believe, in Adelaide, so she can be listed as the Australian tour understudy.
clockworkgirl21
Raili Ruutu is the standby in Finland.

Here is a pic!
and1987
I almost forgot yesterday that Donna Vivino was a Broadway standby.
SwankifiedOzian
These Elphabas can all be added.

Jackie Burns (Broadway lead)
Mamie Parris (First Tour lead)
Dee Roscioli (First Tour lead)
Raili Ruutu (Helsinki understudy)
Stephanie Torns (First Tour standby - she went on when the First Tour was having an Elphaba emergency in Toronto last November)
Willemijn Verkaik (Scheveningen lead)
Donna Vivino (Broadway standby)
SwankifiedOzian
Renée van Wegberg (Scheveningen alternate) made her debut today.
SwankifiedOzian
This thread doesn't get updated that much anymore, but Jemma Rix made her Asia Tour Elphaba debut last night.
SwankifiedOzian
Per ForGood's permission, I will be taking over the Elphaba and Glinda lists. I will make a new thread, but I just wanted to let everyone know that my thread (it will be called Elphabas - The Definitive List 2.0) is the one to comment on, if a new Elphaba goes on.
