If were being technical, CJ went on 90 times, Ashleigh went on 3 times and Shona went on 30-40 odd times.

Has Roberta Valentini gone on as the alternate yet? Have either of the new Stuttgart understudies gone on as Elphaba?

QUOTE(WickedlyCassidy @ Dec 6 2008, 08:39 AM)

So if Maria Eberline went on around 50 times, that would mean Steph called out near to 100 times at least as Jenna has stated in interviews she performed the role of Elphaba just over 50 times.
Well, Maria's total also includes all the times that she went on when she and Victoria alternated for Julia. In addition, I seem to remember Jenna saying that it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 and not 50, but I could be wrong. There's no doubt that Steph called out a LOT on tour, but it's definitely understandable and I don't think it's as pervasive as everyone thinks. There are more reviews of people seeing Stephanie from her tour days than people seeing Jenna and Maria, it seems. In addition, Jenna seemed to be the "first" understudy (not technically, but in the fact that she seemed to go on more frequently) when Stephanie was there, whereas it was more of an equal sharing when Maria and Victoria were the covers (which is ironic given that Victoria was the standby). Which leads me to believe that Steph probably called out more in the neighborhood of 60-70ish times rather than 100.

Yes. One of the Stuttgart alternates recently had her first show, but I have to check which one.
According to Melanie's official website, she will be going on as Elphie on December 12th.

Stephanie "missed" a lot of shows on Tour, but you have to take into account the shows she missed due to her on-set injury the night before the Tour opened in Toronto. Not only did she later have to take off the entire S.F. stop, but she was also limited in the numbers of shows per week she performed, and (I have heard from reputable, though non-Block, sources) had physical therapy that also took her out a couple shows a week. BEING out is not the same as CALLING out.
As a side note--please don't allow this thread to turn into a problem, comparing actors' attendance records, accusing actors of missing too much, etc. (I'm starting to see that happening with several actors, just on this page). They don't like to miss, they don't get paid to miss, and I'm certain they don't miss if there's not a good reason. Nobody's calling out just to ruin your theatre experience!

Dee couldnt go on, Dee called off and they couldnt get a hold of Jenny so Anne was going to have to go on, but Anne didnt want to because she wasnt ready, so eventually after getting Anne green, they got a hold of Jenny in the nick of time, got her green and Jenny went on.

Lol if you mean what I think you mean, "First National Tour Lead" doesn't mean the First to play Elphaba on Tour, it means Julia was a Lead of the First National Tour, as opposed to the Second National Tour.

That would have been awkward, then again since was in the ensemble every night, so I think she would have picked up some things even if she had no been officially trained.
