Saw info about the Myer Christmas Parade in the paper on my flight elphie3.gif up to Sydney last week so missed seeing but will be televised again the week before Christmas.

LOL Wonder if they mean the fun hand actions for OSD at Wicked Day by "specially choreographed?" chuckle.gif

On Saturday 15 November the WICKED Company, including Amanda Harrison and Lucy Durack, opened the Myer Christmas Parade with a performance of “One Short Day.” The routine was specially choreographed for this performance, and was staged in front of the famous Myer Christmas windows. The song was received by rounds of applause from the vast crowd that had gathered for the Parade in Melbourne’s Bourke Street Mall. The performance was broadcast on Channel 7 at 6:30pm that evening and will be aired again in the week leading up to Christmas. Stay tuned to Breaking News for the exact time and date of the broadcast so you do not miss this incredible performance by The Witches of Oz and the WICKED Company!

I wonder why they didn't do it in costume like when Idina and Kristin did the Macy's Christmas Parade.

Yep would have liked to see that! elphie3.gif I'm thinking it's cause we are a little more laid back here in Oz...not as into the whole dress up scene unsure.gif like the US. Me..I'd be wearing every chance I got! Love play acting...the eternal child! chuckle.gif My guess is that those costumes NEVER leave the theatre seeing as they are so precious and possibly the fear of rabid fans tearing strips! LOL I'm joking!! z4dwink.gif

How hot does it get in Melbourne? I'd imagine those costumes, especially with Amanda's green makeup, would be awfully uncomfortable outside in the summer.

It was a bit of a heat wave that week but then you can get all seasons within one day in Melbourne! tongue.gif I was out of town so not quite sure but judging from what the girls were wearing...I'd say pretty warm. Did anyone here attend? Just found this link: WICKED ~ 2008 MYER CHRISTMAS PARADE kittydance.gif
