I thought it would be nice to have a thread for people who just want to say a few things about the performance they attended without writing and entire review. So if you see the show, and only have a few things to say, post them here instead of making a new thread (if you wish).

Katie Webber's last show
Won lotto! Full cast except Briana Yacavone was on as the Midwife, Anthony Galde as Witch's Father/OO, and there was a Chistery u/s but I forgot who it was...I'll look it up later. Nicole has gotten SO amazing since she started! A complete 180 from 1/16 AND her acting got even BETTER. A few things to note: Brynn's WWOTE was so emotional...between her performance and Nicole's performance in that song I was so blown away. Usually it's not one of my favorite scenes, but it was terrific. Alli was hilarious as usual, I can now say she's my favorite Glinda. I didn't know it was Katie's last until curtain call when people were flashing pics from the wings and the female ensemble gave Katie the bow. It was extremely emotional and all of the girls were crying. Spoke to Nicole at the SD, and if anyone sees Alli getting gradually hyper, it's because she's trying to make Nicole laugh. But with Nicole's training, she doesn't break. She did say that she was very close to cracking up yesterday and that she'll lose it soon!

I agree. When I saw Chelsea on Jan 14th matinee she also ran outta breath with the "again" and could have easily made it into a double "again". It would have sounded better IMO.

I had tickets for this date originally. Full cast (for the evening as well). I was sort of hoping to get some sort of supporting understudy (or Katie), but it was good to see everyone again. Today was a much different show. Nicole's TWAI was great, so was her INTG and NGD. DG wasn't terrific - she seemed to run out of breath on her first "Bring me down." It sounded like she blew out her voice though, so I was glad to hear her recover automatically. Alli hit the high note in NOMTW, but it seemed to be a step down from the one she usually hits, so it sounded weird. I'm starting to like Aaron more (didn't care for him his first run). Alli was crying throughout the catfight scene, and both Nicole and Alli seemed to be on the emotional side.

I saw Kristen before as the witches mom. I don't see her as a Nessa though since isn't the witches mom a nessa u/s also.
That is great about the audience. Out of the times I saw the show on Broadway I have only heard applause during her ascent in DG and that was at Steph's last.
How was the crowd at curtain call? Did most stand at the beginning or wait until Nicole and Alli came out. I'm always curious about that...LOL.

February 11, 2009 (Matinee)
Lotto Win, full cast.
Okay so my friend randomly woke me up from my nap and was like "Apparently, Aaron's out. If I win lotto would you want to come?" I figured I would since I have horrible luck with it and didn't think she'd actually win. 20 minutes later she called and matter-of-factly said "I won. We're sitting center."
However, Aaron was NOT out. I was sort of looking forward to seeing Jerad, but I was still excited. Things started looking odd the second Alli came down in the bubble...it seemed to be swaying back and forth a little, but I didn't think anything of it. The bubble went back up into the fly space, and when it came down again towards the end of NOMTW, it stopped halfway. I looked at my friend who didn't seem to realize what was going on right away, and then it hit her as Alli turned around to get back into the bubble and saw it hanging ABOVE her. So the rest of the song was performed with Alli center stage and the ensemble surrounding her. It looked better, honestly! And Alli shot out the high note. Right after the song was over, Chelsea Krombach started laughing...she was biting her lip and everyone was trying so hard not to lose it. She gained composure though, and Alli motioned for the bubble to go "up" at "It depends on what you mean by friend..." But the bubble didn't go anywhere. It didn't start going up until Nicole ran out...so it went up JUST in time.
Next blooper came after WITF...when Alli screamed at Nicole's "BOO!" her little notebook flew onto the stage and landed next to the pit. Sarah Bolt came over and picked it up, laughing along the way. She handed it to Alli and Alli said "Aw, thanks."
ANOTHER set malfunction. The bridge in I'm Not That Girl NEVER came down. So Alli and Aaron just ran across upstage, in the shadows and Nicole hid behind a gear. It looked SO MUCH COOLER! But the bridge also wasn't down for the train station scene, so some of the people that cross on the bridge were crossing on the stage. Some of those wigs are HILARIOUS.
Other than that there was one more minor blooper. Nicole said what sounded like "grovel an audition" instead of "grovel in submission" during DG. Nicole was ON today! Her NGD was amazing. And all in all she stole the show! About the audience though...they were sort of ridiculously responsive only in the mezzanine. It must have been a class trip or something, because they all cheered when Aaron and Nicole first kiss in ALAYM and they all were like "OOHH!" "OH SNAP!" when Alli hit Nicole in the catfight.

Lotto Win (!), full cast.
Okay it's starting to get a little nuts - I've seen the show every week since I've come back to NY. But I was on the West Side anyway (for Virgin Megastore's "BLOWOUT" clearance sale which was FAIL), and it was 5:30, so I called my friend before she went to work and asked her to help. I did NOT think I was going to win, but sure enough I was the third name called! 20 tries and finally my name was called! My friend actually ended up calling out of work to come with me, and her friends who were randomly there won too! So moral of the story - never give up! It may take you three years to win again, but you'll get there!
Swing watch: Jon McGill was out, and he has the ribbon solo in OSD...so Tony Galde was on for everything except the ribbon solo which Jonathan Warren did. Sam Zack and Lindsay Janisse are still splitting Pfanee. Lindsay was on last night...Sam was on last Wednesday.
Bloopers: NOTHING like last time, although the slap effect in the Catfight scene went off early, but it phased neither Alli nor Nicole (but the audience cracked up).
I was sort of bummed to see a full cast at first - I love this cast, but I really want to see Laura or Jenny. Thank GOD they were all in, though! It was the best performance I've seen out of the 29 times I've seen the show! Guys, it was Nicole's best performance yet. If you've seen her, you know that each night she has a song that she seems to have some trouble with...not tonight. Her TWAI was SO solid...her last note was so strong that gradually my jaw dropped...I was so impressed and at that point I knew she was going to tear every song to shreds and she did.
Alli was being ridiculous! During Popular, she did this new thing where at "and all because of me" she lifts her leg up and kicks the air while saying "POW POW POW POWPOWPOWW!" I was DYING...I can't believe Nicole doesn't crack up. The performance was emotional from everyone...Nicole got me teary during INTG--she nailed every low note that she previously had trouble with.
I got completely invested in the story this time, nothing distracted me...this is the last time in a while I'll be there because school is starting to occupy most of my time, so I decided to just watch. This, coupled with Nicole's phenomenal performance, made me cry during her ascent in "Defying Gravity." She riffed! Not to high heaven but she did a few different ornamentations that made me gasp. It was such a powerful moment and I'm so glad I was there to witness what is definitely to this date her best performance yet.
I love Cristy's Nessarose...I'll admit I was a little tired of her before she left, but after seeing Brynn (who's still my favorite Nessa) and taking a break from Cristy, I'm beginning to love her more and more. If you watch Cristy during "Dancing Through Life" and "Dear Old Shiz," you can see she just wants to fit in! Her performance is heartbreaking. I still don't love Alex as Boq...something about his portrayal doesn't do it for me. Aaron is growing on me more and more-when he swung in on the rope, he delivered "Let the green girl go!" differently than I've heard before, it was funny, and Alli had to hide behind Elphaba's hat because she was laughing. "No Good Deed" was FIERCE and "For Good" was heartbreaking as usual. Both Alli and Nicole are definitely now my favorite Elphaba and Glinda!

^ Nice review Conor. Dang you been seeing the show a lot lately

.
Both times I saw Nicole she has had trouble with INTG. She has no problem hitting the low note at the end though. And the more I see her she gets better and better. I don't know how she doesn't crack in Popular. I LOST it last Sunday with her silly antics...LOL.
They have a VERY emotional FG. You would think someone is leaving the show everytime they sing it that's how much they both cry.
And Cristy seems so refreshed. Before she looked kinda bored up there. There was something different about her. She looks great and sounds the best that she's ever sounded IMO. I do miss Brynn a lot but I'm happy that Cristy is back.

Saw the show on Sunday. Must say it was one of the BEST that I have seen. I was sitting in the last row of the mezz and I must say that I feel a lil too far away from the stage sitting up there. But I like to see everything that is happening onstage once in a awhile.
This cast is one of the best I have seen in a long time. They all have great chemistry with each other for not all being together for a very long time.
Nicole is getter better by the day and was much better than she was last week when I saw it. Her DG was one of the best I have ever heard out of all the Elphie's I have seen. She didn't have a weak song at all IMO. It usually is INTG but she sang it different this time with so much feeling put into it.
Alli just keeps getting more crazy trying to get Nicole to break which hasn't happened yet. Nicole has no trouble in making Alli laugh though...LOL
Kyle Dean Massey was Fiyero and he is MUCH better than most of the Fiyero's I have seen. Very sexy Fiyero(even from the last row in the mezz I could tell). He had great chemistry with Nicole and their ALAYM kinda set the Gershwin on fire also.
For Good is still very emotional. You would think that someone is leaving with how much they both cry during it. They can barely get the words out during the end.
The only blooper was the CONGRADULOTIONS sign was tangled when it came down and Lindsay hit it with her umbrella to unravel it. Oh and Alli had some trouble with her wand twirling again since she has that new dress that is HUGE.
All in all a great show.

A pretty run of the mill show, no bloopers, only like one or two riffs the whole show, yeah. Nicole, like everyone has said, doesn't have the best vocals, but her acting and comedic timing is amazing. Alli was definately not my favorite. I just didn't like some of her line deliveries. However, their catfight was the best I've seen! Kevin Kern.. I was so wary of him, but actually ended up pretty impressed! Alex Brightman? You win at life. Cristy was good as always. 3/11/09 matinee summary...EPIC WIN FOLKS...
Nicole and Alli were fabulous today. I ended up being (somewhat) impressed by Kevin too..I had a fabulous seat in Orch B so that made it a great view of all the expressions lol..Nicole gave a fierce performance and Alli was on game as well..Jayne, Alex, and Cristy were good (I had seen Cristy before and she kind of grew on me) and this was my 2nd time seeing PJ as the Wizard..
then..the unexpected shock/surprise I have ever gotten..
I headed to stage door after the show (my dad was waiting there and the rain stopped so we figured why not go lol)..I got autographs from Alex Brightman and Cristy Candler..then..some guy comes out and asks for "Alison"..he looked at me and I told him I was Alyssa and then he escorts my dad and I inside...next thing I know we are on the elevator going up to the stage with Alli Mauzey (i just about died lol..she was so sweet and signed my playbill and took a picture)..then..the magic..I was ON STAGE at the Gershwin..waiting to meet Nicole Parker..
Kevin Kern came by so I got a autograph/pic with him on stage..then..Nicole was there..ladies and gentlemen..if there isn't anyone more giving, kind, patient, and sweet as her..I dont know what to say lol..so here's how it went down..
Nicole had received the letter I wrote to her..I told her a bit about myself and she was "very touched" (yes those were her words to me lol)..then, she hands me a paper of some kind..it was the letter Fiyero sends Elphaba before the "For Good" scene..she signed it to me..just about passed out that I now have something actually used in the show...
finally, we took a few pics on stage and she signed my playbill..I hugged her and thanked her..then my dad had to pull me down from the air I was floating on..
Bottom line..see Nicole Parker and Alli Mauzey, folks..they DO NOT disappoint!
