I'm a drama teacher in Maryland and I took my students to NYC yesterday to see Wicked.
After what I can only describe the most amazing defying gravity I have ever seen (and I've seen Julia, Stephanie and Eden) the kids wanted to meet Nicole.
It's ironic we were there because we are doing Wizard of Oz next weekend as the show at the school. My students were so excited to meet her and when she came out I explained who we were and how we watch her as dorothy in the madtv Oz skits for inspiration. She was so nice she did her Dorothy impression for us, talked to my students, found out what parts they are playing and asked when the show was.
She was so incredibly nice and went above and beyond for us.
And I never thought I'd say this but she is my favorite Elphaba yet. She mixed the acting and singing so beautifuly. I cried for the first time during Wicked yesterday.
Her defying gravity is so heart breaking in the beginning and so empowering at the end. AH-MA-ZING.
