Surprised no one has started a topic yet, but it's going to be pretty much like an end of an era for me.
Have had some great memories of Kerry in Wicked and wish I was going on Saturday night for her last. I wish her luck for her final week. [Even though Ashleigh is on tonight!]

shes been a little off colour so she needs to save her voice for this sat
im soooo excited, and also scared of the stage door! me and her were having a giggle about it backstage its gonna be soo hectic!!!!!
i saw her on broadway first and then 3 times back here and have loved her everytime, and whenever i have seen her shes been such a lovely person, and the first thing i said to her when i met her in the green was "you look so stunning" haha!!!!
She will be missed very much being an original cast member and has achieved so much with the role!!
wish her all the best in the future and am so greatful for the memories of her!!!! and cant wait for and album!

It's bittersweet for me. I love her but I am not sad that her time with Wicked London is up. She's a fantastic Elphaba and think she's so talented but I think that it's clearly time for her to leave the role. She was the perfect choice for the original british Elphaba though and I think that she's done the show so much for the show and set the standard so high with her vocals. I cannot wait to see her something new and fresh and where hopefully she doesn't have screamers following her around.

andthereyouwere (so sorry i dont know your name!!) you've hit the nail on the head for me and what I've been feeling and it really is bittersweet. I'm sad that I can't just go and see her because as a performer she is up there but I am so glad that she is finally leaving Wicked.
I'm so excited to hear everything she's got coming up, hopefully without the insane fan-mania, so I really do wish her luck and sucess, I'll be there for as much of it as I can, but hooray for losing the green. I cannot wait for Kerry after Wicked.

Hee, it's Kay

Oh and I forgot to say, I shall miss her NGD the most. I didn't think anything could ever beat Alexia's crazyness in that song but then Kerry came along on February 3rd and redefined what NGD should be like for me.

Definitely agree that her time with Wicked has come to its conclusion. I, obviously, adore Wicked but adore Kerry as a performer in her own right as well. I was fortunate enough to see her in Chess and will be seeing her in the Queen spectacular in Bournemouth, as I happen to be there that weekend!
I think that a little part of me will go with Kerry when she leaves - being my first and favourite Elphaba, but I still look forward to what Wicked London will bring with a new bunch of faces in the future.

My first(hopefully not only!) Elphaba, and she'll always have a place in my heart for that.
But I'm excited to see Alexia come back, and have a real run.
justdefygravity
May 4 2009, 09:16 PM
I'm glad Alexia is going to have a run in her own right, not just, covering until Kerry comes back. I'll head down to the AV in a few weeks to see how they've all settled in.
Kerry wasn't my first Elphaba but she is my favourite, and her time in Wicked holds a lot of memories for me but like I said, more than happy that she's going to just be Kerry Ellis for a while. I just hope she'll make it back for her last week.

^ That plus my own time with Wicked is done so its the end of a large part of my life, not the show per say but the people I've met through it. Some will be there on Sat and others will be there in spirit but either way I'll miss Kerry and what she brought to the role. It must have been something because it kept me coming back time and time again and for that I thank her

I think it's pretty much going to be the end of my fairly frequent attendance at the AV. I don't have the same urge to come back again as soon as I have done previously, but we shall see how Alexia's run goes for me! Considering how much I love the show, I'll be back at some time. Kerry definitely fuelled something in me to come back so often!

Sad to see her go, but it was 100% the right time for her to leave. My attendance at the AV will now drop quite significantly too, not because lack of Kerry in all honesty, just a lack of want to see the new cast, and I use the word 'new' very lightly.

I, too, agree that it's bittersweet to see Kerry leave. She was my first and favorite Elphie, and a large part of the reason I ended up falling in love with theater, but I'm looking forward to seeing what she takes on next.
Really this Saturday for me is less about being sad that it's her last, and more focused on the excitement that I actually get to see her in Wicked one more time. When I left London last year I wasn't sure if I'd ever be back, so the fact that everything worked out so perfectly and I can attend her last performance is amazing.

I'm excited for Kerry's last show because she has truly made her mark on
Wicked history, so to speak, has had three amazing runs on Broadway and in London, and will undoubtedly be doing some amazing things.
And, for selfish reasons, this means her CD will be coming out sooner. I really need that.

I hope Kerry has a great show. I was lucky enough to see her on the West End not long after she got back from Broadway, and meet her at SD. She was incredibly sweet and genuine and I love her as Elphaba.
Can't wait to see what she does next, and same as Teal-Shade-of-Eden, yay album.
Good luck Kerry, have an awesome show!

I'm going to miss her too! She's still my favourite Nessa. I love Caroline but as time went on, her Nessa annoyed me a little. But she has amazing hair, and I shall miss her intensity in WWOTE. Shall miss Liam's "She's a freak" although he hasn't done it for a while.

I think Kerry has definatly set a standard, and the times ive seen her, she has always wow-ed me. Seeing her in January after broadway was great, as things had changed, and she impressed me even further. I think she owns Wicked in London and i think she has left a pretty good mark on the west end in general through this role. She was awesome, and will remain my favourite Elphaba for sure. And to everyone who's going on Sat, Im sure it will be of epic proportions and... loud! have fun.

I never got to see Kerry in London but I did have the chance to go to her first and last shows here on Broadway(and a few in between). I have seen her 6 times here and all I can say is WOW. Even when she wasn't feeling well she put on one heck of a show. I miss her here. I wish her all the luck in the future.
As for all the other guys leaving, I never got to see them but I wish them all the best in the future also.

It upsets me to hear that people aren't going back because Kerry's not in it. For me personally, I saw the show before Kerry was in it and I love the show and Kerry equally. While I am sad beyond words that she is gone I will most definitely be going back in the future.

Yeah I agree. I was around from the OLC days, and then I was stationed in New York when Kerry was over here, so Kerry has always been the Elphaba on when i've been to see Wicked, so it will be hard to see the London production without her.
I will go back, but not for a while yet

Most people will go back. I do understand why the fans that have been with the show since the beginning don't want to go back. I think they feel less attached to the show now and with only a few OLC remaining, there's not much reason to. But most people, will go back.

The only reason that I'm not going back is that I'm not spending my money on going to see Alexia, as I'm not too fond of her Elphaba, or Oliver and Dianne, as I have seen them plenty of other times. There are plenty of other great shows that deserve my money

My not going back is about not 'loving' it anymore.. It will always be special to me cos of the experiences I've had and the people I've met but I'm so done with this show and a lot of the crap that goes with it. To the point that I wasn't that emotional on Saturday, am glad not to go back any time soon. Mind you I've only been 3 times in the last 5 months so I'm not really going to miss it...

I can totally understand where people are coming from, a lot of the people who have just left I would consider to be "my cast" as well. I also didn't see Alexia at all when she played Elphaba last time (I went literally just before and after it!) and it'll take time to adjust. But I love the show waaaay too much to never go back.
