ForGood
Eden has a brief stint on tour in 2005. Annaleigh was slightly more tolerable in Chicago.

Marcie was s/b in LA too.

You're missing Kendra: Tour, Broadway, San Francisco

Eden has a brief stint on tour in 2005. The only Elphaba or Glinda I saw in two different productions where she was official lead in both was Annaleigh. She was slightly more tolerable in Chicago.

I know what you mean, though she was very attentive and very gracious at the SD.
ennaxor
Also, Teal Wicks: LA, SF.

I think she's the only one I've seen in multiple productions, but I didn't like her better in one over the other.
Chenzel
Caissie Levy - Broadway s/b and LA
Lisa Brescia - Broadway s/b and Chicago
ForGood
Lisa heartbeat.gif heartbeat.gif heartbeat.gif She was practically perfect both places, but she was even better in Chicago. I still miss her so much.
Dram_edy00
Kristy Cates was on tour briefly while Stephanie J Block was recovering from her neck injury. However, I would have loved to have seen her either as a Broadway u/s or in her run in Chicago

Erin Mackey also did some time as understudy on tour

Julie Reiber was in LA and on Broadway

Stacie Morgain Lewis and Shoshana Bean performed on Broadway together

Katie Adams performed as Glinda on tour and on Broadway

Carmen Cusack-Chicago and Tour

I love Lisa Brescia as well. She is one of the many actresses that I would love to see live as Elphaba. heartbeat.gif

Actually, I don't believe Erin Mackey understudied Glinda on tour...
Tayzer
Yeah, Erin didn't cover Glinda until Chicago. Annaleigh was a Glinda cover on tour. Emily Rozek was on tour and in LA. Melissa Fahn was on tour for like eight minutes, and did LA and Broadway, but she really didn't go on much in any company. Dee was also in San Francisco for a little while.
Catherine L
Can we count Carmen and Jennifer in Melbourne and Sydney respectively?
Fritz
Oh, and to answer the questions:

(These are all my OPINIONS - they sound like I'm stating them as fact but I recognize that they are opinion.)

Idina Menzel was better in London; Megan Hilty was better on Broadway; Shoshana Bean was better on Broadway.
DefyingGravity777
I saw Lisa Brescia in NYC and Chicago and thought she was the same in both places.
Dee Roscioli in Chicago and NYC and think she is better in NYC.
Annaleigh Ashford in NYC and Chicago and thought she was more funny in Chicago but love her the same in both places.

I also saw Lenny Wolpe in NYC and on the 1NT as the Wizard and love him both places.

Idina Menzel - Broadway, London- Neither were great, but I guess I'd say early Broadway
Shoshana Bean - Broadway, Tour- Early Broadway when she was still playing Elphaba before it became the Green Shoshana Show
Eden Espinosa - Tour, Broadway, LA- Broadway Standby days
Ana Gasteyer - Chicago, Broadway- Haven't seen
Stephanie J. Block - Tour, Broadway- Very hard to pick, but I think I did prefer her on Broadway. Both runs were amazing though.
Julia Murney - Tour, Broadway- I feel she was more witchy on Broadway and even though her voice was wearing away I actually preferred it to her clean sound on tour.
Kerry Ellis - London, Broadway- I feel her voice is very much her strong suit and as such find her London run to be her better run.
Marcie Dodd - LA, Broadway, Tours- Second National Tour, definitely. Didn't really like her at all on the First National Tour but she's come a very long way since then.
Carmen Cusack - Chicago, Tour, Melbourne- Only saw on Tour
Julie Reiber - LA, Broadway- Haven't seen
Dee Roscioli - Chicago, Broadway- Only saw in Chicago
Lisa Brescia - Broadway, Chicago- Tough call, but a bit better in Chicago I think
Caissie Levy - Broadway, LA- Haven't seen
Teal Wicks - LA, San Fran- Only saw in LA

Megan Hilty - Broadway, Tour or LA- She's only gotten worse, so Broadway I guess, but I've never been fond of her performance.
Kate Reinders - Chiacgo, Broadway- Chicago, definitely
Kendra Kassebaum - Tour, Broadway, SF- The only actress who I feel has gotten better each time she's returned. I haven't seen her in San Fran, but her Broadway run was better than her Tour run, and her Broadway return showed marked improvement over her first one. I hope she is continuing to improve.
Erin Mackey - Chicago, LA, or Broadway- Only saw in LA
Stacie Morgan Lewis - Broadway, Chicago- Only saw in Chicago, sadly. Would have loved to have caught her on Broadway.
Katie Adams - Tour, Broadway- Only saw on Broadway
Annaligh Ashford - Broadway, Chicago- Hard to say. I feel she tried harder to mature in Act II while she was on Broadway, but in Chicago she seemed to add a lot more to her Act I portrayal that made her a rounder, more interesting character.
and1987
Even though I've seen Wicked live once I'm basing my opinions on reviews written here.

Idina Menzel - Broadway, London- I loved her both times
Shoshana Bean - Broadway, Tour- I liked her when she performed with JLT, but with Megan she made Elphaba a cartoon character.
Eden Espinosa - Tour, Broadway, LA- Loved her every time
Ana Gasteyer - Chicago, Broadway- Consistent
Stephanie J. Block - Tour, Broadway- Saw her on tour and thought she was brilliant. I wish I could've seen her on Broadway because I heard she was even better.
Julia Murney - Tour, Broadway- Good singing both times even though her voice got tired twoard the end of her Broadway run. Her acting was wonderful both times though she overracted a little bit the end of her Broadway run.
Kristy Cates- No opinion
Kerry Ellis - London, Broadway- London was when she was at her best
Marcie Dodd - LA, Broadway, Tours- Second National Tour because she didn't play Elphaba quite as angry
Carmen Cusack - Chicago, Tour, Melbourne- Always consitent and brillaint.
Julie Reiber - LA, Broadway- Great in LA got even better on Broadway
Dee Roscioli - Chicago, Broadway- Good reviews both times and my sister loved her twoard the end of her Chicago run
Lisa Brescia - Broadway, Chicago- Amazing acting and singing both times, but Chicago was her best days
Caissie Levy - Broadway, LA- Solid acting both times, singing wasn't as squeaky in LA
Teal Wicks - LA, San Fran- Played Elpahab a little more angry when she played the role full time, but still very good overall.

Megan Hilty - Broadway, Tour or LA- Loved her on Broadway, can't say much about her tour days, the end of her initial LA run was a mess.
Kate Reinders - Chiacgo, Broadway- Chicago without a doubt. She got better on Broadway when Ana came.
Kendra Kassebaum - Tour, Broadway, SF- Loved her on tour and I've heard she's getting better every time she comes back.
Erin Mackey - Chicago, LA, or Broadway- Getting better and better every time she comes back and she already statred out great.
Stacie Morgan Lewis - Broadway, Chicago- Can't really say anything about Broadway, but I still liked her portrayal in chicago
Katie Adams - Tour, Broadway- Good performer always
Annaligh Ashford - Broadway, Chicago- Never really was a fan of her's. I really didn't like her on Broadway, but she sort of improved in Chicago.

Idina Menzel - Broadway (She just lost her spirit when she went to London)
Shoshana Bean - Early Broadway (She started out great, but later became too "Shoshana" for Elphaba)
Eden Espinosa - LA (Just got better and better as she went on)
Ana Gasteyer - Broadway (Truly grew as a performer on Broadway)
Stephanie J. Block - Tour (She was more raw on tour)
Julia Murney - Broadway (I liked her voice better on Broadway. I Love Julia! bow.gif )

Marcie Dodd - Tour (Improved as she went on)
Carmen Cusack - Chicago (Her Elphaba was more joyful in Chicago)
Julie Reiber - Broadway (Became stronger as she went on)
Dee Roscioli - Broadway (I love Dee, so I think she belongs on Broadway)
Lisa Brescia - Chicago (She really blossomed as a lead)
Caissie Levy - LA (She was better than on Broadway...not really a fan)
Teal Wicks - San Fran (She fits in better)
Kristy Cates - Chicago (A fabulous lead)

Megan Hilty - Early Broadway (Had a terrific start, but then lost touch with Glinda)
Kate Reinders - Broadway (She was a bit less spastic on Broadway)
Kendra Kassebaum - Broadway (Love her everywhere she goes! bow.gif)
Erin Mackey - Chicago (Had a better connection with the Chicago Elphabas)

Annaleigh Ashford - Chicago (Was an all around better Glinda in Chicago)
Fiyero3305
^Stacie never went on with Ana.
degeorgetitanic
Idina:Broadway/London I think she was great both on Broadway and in London, but in London I think vocally she was much stronger after she learned how to use her voice prop. though on B-Way she still kicked major butt
Shoshana: Broadway/Tour...I think she was better in her early Broadway days and when she came back to tour, but in between she became more of a pop star then Elphaba
Eden:Broadway/LA...def. early broadway....I'm sorry a few months before she left Broadway until her very last performence in LA she was very weak both vocaly and acting wise
Ana: Never saw :/
Julia: Broadway...she was amazing when I saw her and from what i heard of her on tour she was great
SJB: Broadway/Tour....for sure Broadway, tour she focused to much on vocals and sounding good but when she returned she was great
Kerry:London...only saw her there and she was okay but nothing superb...def. overrated in my book, her acting on B-Way tho I think is stronger from what I've seen
Marcie: 2nd Tour....amazing
Nicole: Broadway....amazing
Dee: Chicago/Broadway...def. amazing on B-Way
Do others later lol

^Stacie never went on with Ana.

Whoops! I meant Kristy.
Teal-Shade-of-Eden
Idina Menzel - Just don't like her as Elphaba. However, I adore her as Kate in TWP the most out of everything she's done. heartbeat.gif
Shoshana Bean - Tour because her vocals were even more brilliant.
Eden Espinosa - Early 2007 LA.
Julia Murney - Whenever because she can act the heck out of anything and is perfection.
Marcie Dodd - Better as she continues with the role. Would kill to see her on the 2NT.
Lisa Brescia - Perfection anywhere.
Caissie Levy - Los Angeles.
Teal Wicks - Anywhere; I think she's pretty consistent in the role.

Megan Hilty - Early Los Angeles.
Kate Reinders - Don't like her in either production.
Kendra Kassebaum - San Francisco; she gets better with time.
Stacie Morgan Lewis - Would do anything to have seen her; Chicago.
Annaleigh Ashford - Don't like her in either production.
CrazyRonnieJoe
Idina Menzel - London
Shoshana Bean - Tour... particularly September and October of the tour run. Sheer perfection in the role. I also loved her entire Broadway run, though. Then again, she's my favorite, so I'm biased.
Eden Espinosa - First four months in LA, and the middle of her Broadway run
Ana Gasteyer - Broadway
Stephanie J. Block - Broadway
Julia Murney - Equally brilliant both on tour and in New York, but I guess I'd go with New York since she herself said that it took her until she got to New York to figure out how she wanted to sing the role.
Kristy Cates- Chicago, but when was she not thrilling?
Kerry Ellis - London, 2nd time around
Marcie Dodd - 2nd National Tour by far... she's like a totally different (and thrilling) Elphaba
Carmen Cusack - Tough call. I always thought she was way too good for Chicago standby and was the standout in that production when she was there, but she really found her own on tour... I guess tour then?
Julie Reiber - LA by far
Dee Roscioli - Chicago standby
Lisa Brescia - Chicago
Caissie Levy - LA = sheer perfection
Teal Wicks - LA standby

Megan Hilty - Tour... I felt she had really solidified and finally found confidence in the character, but she hadn't gone way over the top yet. I thought she was absolutely perfect on tour, followed very closely by the last five months of her run in New York.
Kate Reinders - Chicago
Kendra Kassebaum - Always brilliant, though I guess I'd have to go with anytime she was with Julia... so Broadway and Julia tour days.
Erin Mackey - Don't really know much of her on Broadway, but although I wasn't a fan when she was in Chicago, I felt she was BRILLIANT in Los Angeles and really proved herself Broadway-worthy (and I'm so glad she's there now!); I'm sure she's even better now
Stacie Morgan Lewis - Chicago?
Katie Adams - Broadway
Annaligh Ashford - Chicago, I suppose?
x.-6-ElPhIe-9-.x
Idina Menzel - San Francisco
Shoshana Bean - Broadway
Eden Espinosa - Broadway
Ana Gasteyer - Chicago
Stephanie J. Block - Broadway
Julia Murney - Tour
Kristy Cates- Chicago
Kerry Ellis - London
Marcie Dodd - 2NT
Lisa Brescia - Chicago
Caissie Levy - LA
Teal Wicks - LA
