KRC to Broadway

I'll miss Erin, but yeah for Katie! I'm so glad she's going to Broadway!

Awww, congrats to her! I'm sad I will have missed the chance to see Erin, but I've never seen KRC either and have heard fantastic things about her!

The article says that KRC is joining Dee Roscioli and others, so does that mean that Miss Roscioli extended, since she started before Mrs. Mackey?

Erin will only have been there for 5 months. I thought the contracts were normally 6 months. Oh well, congratulotions to Katie!

5 months is still a good amount of time. Ana Gasteyer only got to play Elphaba on Broadway for 3 months and Marcie only got to play it for 2 months. Erin has also been playing this role on and off in various productions for a while now. Playing it on Broadway was still a dream to her.

Great for Katie! I didn't particularly care for her interpretation when I saw her on tour, but she definitely had me in stitches! So glad for her!

Broadway. com has a lot of typos and that one says the 14. It doesnt make sense for her to start on a thursday it is defantly the 12

From what I see, Playbill and Broadway.com both had it as the 12th, then changed it several hours after it was posted to the 14th. Maybe Katie needs more time, or Jenny, or whatever it may be. It doesn't make since that they are starting on a thursday, but erin and michelle definately leave on sunday. IT has happened before (eden and megan's return on bway). Guess we will find out the exact date soon! Wicked's official facebook is saying it's the 14th.

Maybe Shoshana should come back to the role of Elphaba! Witchful thinking.

I'd love for Carmen to come back, although she's on the South Pacific tour it would be nice to see her back with KRC. I think I'm seeing the show on Broadway in July so I wonder who I'll get.

I can see Carmen returning a few months down the road - she told me when I saw her on tour in October 2008 that she really wanted to do the role on Broadway. Perhaps Dee will stay through April/May and Carmen will come in after? Or even maybe have an interim Elphaba a la Marcie Dodd between Kerry Ellis and Nicole Parker?

I don't see Carmen going back to Wicked anytime soon. She still has her contract with South Pacific and I don't know how long it is, but I bet she will be with S.P. for a while! It's nice seeing her in a role other than Elphie!!!

Agreed. To be honest, I can't help but see a Dee-Katie pairing as being quite unbalanced.

I for one could not be more excited by the idea of Mandy Gonzalez. Her and Katie could potentially be one of the best pairs yet.

For those confused about the start date of the 12/14th? They had to do the start date on the 14th because there is a huge AEA meeting today so they could not do the put in. The next available day is the 14th, which is why they start then.
Also, I for one am excited to see Andy Karl.

I love Orfeh, but I think she'd be very miscast as Elphaba. That's the first I've heard of Andy as Fiyero.
