Ah right.. but I thought put-ins meant that only the replacement was in full costume and such, and the rest of the company just in street clothes...
Just thought of something. Maybe they were taking new proshots? Since both Katie and Mandy aren't wearing any microphones..?

There are also ensemble in the background in full costume. They are all in OSD/DG costumes. And aren't the proshots done with Glinda in her NWMTW gown and Elphie in her Act II costume?
As far as looks....I can see a bit of Sho in her eyes and cheeks and a bit of Teal overall
Regardless of all of that.....

Just got home. She had a very good first show. You could see that she was really working on getting her lines and blocking right, and she seemed to really come out of her shell at the end of Act I. Her "No Good Deed" was AMAZING! Rondi made a remark that it was Mandy's first show during the BC/EFA speech and it got a really loud cheer.
The cast was extremely supportive as she ran out for her first curtain call!

Her chemistry with Katie was terrific. She had more of a subdued portrayal... sort of gentler. I was surprised at how little she had in common with Dee, considering she most likely watched the show the most with her. She's definitely made it her own so far, and she'll only get better with more performances under her belt.

a friend of WinkiePrince's won lotto for us too!
She was stellar. Her comedic timing needs a little work but other than that she's so solid. Her face when she first ran out made me so happy.
Her "Defying Gravity" was probably the best I've ever heard--so fierce. Going into intermission I was thinking how much I was going to miss Dee's "Fiyero" riff--not so much.
Brightman told us that she hadn't even listened to the cast recording before going into the show which made her performance vocally that much more impressive to me.
Members of her "Heights" family were there too which was adorable

I finished my Broadway trip with a bang seeing Mandy's first performance. Headed to lotto but arrived to find it was a 7 pm show and I had missed it. Discovered there would be cancellation tickets and I got a $111.25 seat in the orchestra in row J. Was so excited to see Mandy & especially KRC who I adore! Added bonus was cast members & TPTB from "In the Heights" were all around me in 3 rows and Lin was siiting 3 seats to my right. At intermission on the way out I told him "And I'll bet you're proud" and he responded "Yes I am". I agree with all the comments from others regarding her 1st performance. She delivered all three of the big songs. I'll post more of my thoughts after I get home tomorrow. The highlight of the night for me was passing by stage door and there was KRC. Got my chance to tell her how much I loved her last show in San Diego and that I was happy to see that she had been promoted to Broadway.

Thanks to an acquaintance of mine, blockhead24 and I got to experience Mandy's first performance.
I had seen Mandy in In The Heights several times, I'd say eight or so would be a good call on the number.
I knew she was incredible, but tonight, she blew the roof of the Gershwin.
As people have said, she's still finding her footing here and there, but she's got some strong acting choices and they are fantastic. She's doing things her way and making Elphaba her own, which is fantastic. She's dorky with a sensitivity and softness, that is just refreshing.
Her "Wizard and I" was fabulous, her "Defying Gravity" is one of the best I've EVER heard in my eighteen plus performances of Wicked I've seen, and her "No Good Deed" was a vocal gasm. (Her 'FIYERO' riff was jaw-dropping-ly amazing). The woman delivers the vocals with intensity, heart, and devotion.
Her comedic timing will improve, but her acting choices are just.. beautiful. Her "You have no real power" scene before "Defying Gravity" was one of the best acted I've ever seen. Her eyes tell her inner thoughts and feelings, perfectly and truly drew me in and broke my heart.
Her chemistry with Andy was fantastic and their "As Long As You're Mine" was passionate and sexy.
Her scenes with Jenny were pitch perfect, especially their post-'Wicked Witch of The East' scene.
Mandy and Katie Rose are a good pair, that in time, will grow into what I feel will be one of the greatest Wicked has ever seen. They have the chemistry and the emotion, which I feel will only grow and grow.
I couldn't be prouder of her, because I feel like the barrio's best went off to Stanford and became a huge Broadway star.
