Full Cast other than Sam Zack as the mom. Lindsey Jannise was one of the cronies(Sarah Bolt was there) and Amanda Rose was in Heather's track
Katie Rose- She is one of my favorite Glinda's and never fails to impress me(even when she isn't feeling well). She is one of the only actresses to truly understand the layers and depth to Glinda IMO( I might use that a lot because well these are my opinions
) Has one of the best transformations from Act 1 to Act 2. Jenny Fellner- She is my favorite Nessa and is a standout to me in the little that she is onstage. She is a very sweet Nessa which you don't see much. She does get angry in WWOTE and at Boq but overall you feel for her and what is going through. You can tell she loves her sister very much and wants to be taken care of by her(the scene in which Nessa walks to the table after Boq tells her he's leaving is the best way to see what I'm trying to say here,she reaches out to Elphie were most of them push her away). Her acting and voice are top notch IMO.
Alex Brightman,Rondi Reed,PJ Benjamin- I love them all and think they are great but I have seen them so much(close to or over 30 times each) that I need someone different. Same thing with Timothy Britton Parker.
Andy Karl- My 2nd time seeing him and I just do not like him as Fiyero. I think he looks way too old(especially next to Katie Rose) and am not that impressed with his singing or dancing
Many Gonzalez- I went in with an open mind and heart and wanted to love her and see what everyone saw in her but it just didn't happen. Here is what I wrote on BWW about her and I am in no way bashing her:
I also disagree with what everyone thinks of Mandy. I found her to be ok and nothing that people are saying she is. Vocals were good. Comedic timing was not good. Her Act 2 was a lot better than Act 1(which I found to be boring and couldn't wait for the face flash at the end of Defying Gravity). Her transformation from smiling geeky Elphaba in Act 2 to the Wicked Witch of the West in Act 2 was one of the best I have ever seen though. For me Defying Gravity and No Good Deed were her worst songs with For Good as one of my favorites, just heartbreaking and touching. That said I did like her and think she will be great in a few months. I did meet her at SD and she is really sweet(she grabbed me and hugged me when I said that I had sent her a message on Facebook). Again this is my opinion and I am in no way bashing her.
Now for some things about the show itself.
-The audience was terrible
-Timothy completely forgot his lines at the end of the classroom scene when he says class dismissed.
-Katie Rose dropped the hat in the cat fight after she grabbed it from Mandy's head and left it in the middle of the stage.
-The flashing white lights in One Short Day went off during Katie's INTGŪ causing her to look up,just about blinding her and the audience
-Mandy's feet were clearly showing while she was flying, I don't know if everyone could see it but I was in BB 5 and got a clear view of it
-Katie was very upset during FG and cried the whole song(more than I have ever seen from her) and grabbed Mandy's hand right at the beginning. When she went to wipe the tears from her face Mandy wouldn't let go. Like I said in Mandy's review it was heartbreaking and so touching. I love very emotional FG's and this one didn't disappoint me.
-ALAYM-What do I have to do to see a really hot one of these scenes lately?(well I did on the 2nd tour...LOL) Mandy was all over Andy and he either sat on his hands or had them on his knees. I wanted to go onstage and physically put his hands on her. It's their big "love" scene and I think that Fiyero should be touching her in some way and not sitting there looking at her like a frightened puppy.
I hope you enjoy this and don't get angry at me for not liking Mandy as much as other people do. Different people like different things.
