Just wondering if anyone else has been effected/knows someone who is.
I was due to fly home from Orlando yesterday afternoon but obviously didn't. Am now in a hotel in Orlando waiting to fly to saltlake city->calgory->london on thursday. Other's here have to wait till the 28th april to fly home (we were lucky cause we said we'd go anywhere to get home).
It's potentially a really bad situtation, with up to 6 million people and goods stuck in places they shouldn't now be, who knows what will happen?
Big praise to British Airways though who have put us in a hotel and given us food for as long as we are stuck for free, which is something not all airlines are doing!

I'm at home, but was due to go back to university on Saturday. Ryanair have now cancelled all flights through Wednesday, so I've decided to get a 15 hour ferry/coach/train job. It's gonna be hellish.

I haven't been affected by it... though I know my school did an art trip to Rome over the Easter holidays and they're all having to get a bus from Rome since they can't get a flight! I'm hearing if it doesn't clear up sometime soon it could cause problems with imported goods, though - especially things like pharmaceuticals, which is problematic. And I'd imagine the postal service will be completely messed up for quite a while, it doesn't take much to trigger issues with that. God knows how long it'll go on for, the volcano doesn't seem to be showing much sign of stopping and the wind direction doesn't appear to be changing, either. And then there's the risk of the other volcano erupting.

My dad is currently on his way home from Barcelona, he's on a 14 hour mini-bus trip from there to Calais in Northern France to get a ferry, just in order to get back into the country!
