Shoshana Bean, star of the Broadway smash hits Wicked and Hairspray, is coming to Brisbane for a one night only concert that no musical theatre lover can afford to miss!

Shoshana is one of the brightest stars on Broadway at the moment, having wowed New York audiences with her impressive voice for many years, and recently released her debut album Superhero which went straight to the top of the R&B charts in America and won an Independent Music Award. Shoshana made a name for herself performing on Broadway in productions of Godspell, The Music Of Andrew Lloyd Webber and the original cast of Hairspray. She appeared in Holly Madison's Peepshow in Las Vegas, and became only the second person in the world to play Elphaba the green-skinned witch in Wicked when she took over the role from Idina Menzel.

Shoshana's voice is simply outstanding, and Brisbane audiences can not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to get a taste of Broadway magic when Shoshana performs the songs that made her famous for one night only at the Brisbane Powerhouse in June.

I've been a Shoshana fan since 2005 when I saw her on Broadway as Elphaba....she does amazing concerts and she is a great gal if you get a chance to meet her lol

LOL Oh we are going to meet her!!! Not one for doing the stage door thing usually BUT Theatre stalking will take on a whole new meaning with us there!

Oh yeah, stage dooring for sure! Try and stop me! Not often a chance like this comes up, so I am going to enjoy it while it lasts and whilst the opportunity presents itself.

Have read about her shows in the US and NEVER thought it would be...why I booked without hesitation...too AMAZING an opportunity not to! Avid fans are we and this is a "LIMITED EDITION" event...I'm SOoooooo EXCITED!!! Been singing...."Viva Brisvegas" for the last few hours!

Hoping Sho will enjoy the visit so much that she will look to coming back...We who will be there, shall tell her of the fans who adore her so that couldn't make it cause am very sad for Wicked friends who can't get around work commitments! I'm still hoping she will extend and do other states but looks like a done deal for Brisvegas.

Haha AnnaBee LOVE the subtlety! Have an AWESOME time hun...Broadway is such a surreal buzz to walk down with theatre after theatre and all the lit up signage......"all the hustle and bustle" it's ELECTRIFYING!!! LOL just experienced a "Wicked meets Grease" montage!

Shall applaud extra for you at Sho's show and 2nd that...look forward to reading your reviews of Broadway Wicked and also other shows!

Tell me you are seeing 'Promises, Promises' with Kristin? Almost booked a flight the other week when I received a discounted fare email! $1300 to NY return!!! NY ...the museums, theatres, Chrysler building, Liberty statue....AND home of 'Madame Alexander Doll Company' (well office and museum actually...factory in China), who made the official Wicked dollies!!

She's also coming to Adelaide!!! yay.. I'm excited, nobody ever seems to come to Adelaide. lol. Im going to see Stephen Schwartz and now hopefully I can see Sho .. Now I've gotta decide if I want to try and get my Grimmerie signed??

Yay you 'Emma18' I just read that on Broadway World and think it's a wonderful coo for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival...just when I was cursing Facebook for altering my personal information to include links in my likes etc., it has some power for good! Saw the other week that Stephen Schwartz would be there for the festival too. I think these events are a FANTASTIC opportunity for Wicked and musical theater fans...*prays more of our fave Witches will come to town!*

Sho will also be in Sydney: Broadway World article. Interesting Q & A especially in answering questions about Wicked and that she preferred her role in Hairspray. LOL would love to see a Meg n' Sho Show...have done some very amusing skits those too! GREAT chemistry!

Broadway veteran and hit recording artist Shoshana Bean, best known for her roles in Wicked and Hairspray is about to make her first trip Down Under. She is set to perform shows in Brisbane (June 23rd), Adelaide (June 25th and 26th) and Sydney (June 27), much to the delight of her Australian fans.

What would you like your Australian audiences to expect from your shows? Each show will be different. Sydney and Brisbane have asked for primarily theater based material, so they will get a combination of my faves and my own twists and takes on classics. Adelaide gets a special treat... I will be putting together a set of some of my newest material along with a bunch of classic covers of songs and artists that this new project is largely inspired by. In fact, some of it will be making it's debut Down Under!
