Maybe you should try using proper English and sentence structure. I think only an idiot would buy those rings.

Because otherwise that was very cruel and thoughtless...

Sorry if that sounded bad, but I think it's only fair that we all at least attempt to make our posts clear. As for the rings: I said only an idiot would buy them because they could have come from anywhere. Where's the authenticity?

^Did you ever think that maybe the OP doesn't have the schooling to know how to write a correct sentence?

No, because in many developed countries, getting an education up to a certain point is the law. Anyone with an elementary education can form a proper sentence. I wasn't trying to insult him. I was simply suggesting that he could make the post more clear.

I have been in education for over 24 years and know that many people struggle with writing...it would have been so easy to overlook his grammatical errors. You know that his post was perfectly clear even with the errors...you were pointing out his mistakes just to be condescending.

Back to the point of the post...I have purchased props on ebay and they have come with an authenticity label...maybe see if they have this sort of thing for the rings. I was at stage door once where one of the prop guys brought out the letter that Galinda reads in Loathing cuz it was getting frayed...the young girl who got it was soooo excited...so these rings could be legit... smile.gif

No, I was not trying to be condescending. I pointed out his mistakes so that his post would be easier to read. This is why I hate text communication: people can't figure out the tone of a message.

Hmm. If anyone wanted these, I'd ask the seller for one of those authenticity labels.

I want to thank Elphie T for pointing out my mistakes but I have Dyslexia and at times when I type up something fast it comes out that way and I am sorry for sending you into a tailspin but I did not know it was going to be graded so not to upset you anymore I will never respond to one of your posts and you are welcome to do the same for me and that is all I have to say about the subject

Those rings arent very expensive...I think it would be fun to have them even if they aren't authentic! smile.gif

That being said, I do apologize if my remark sounded condescending. It really wasn't a big deal to me, but the way I worded it sounded as if I was angry. I'm very sorry for that. I hope there are no hard feelings.

i for one found this topic interesting, no i think they are fake due to the picture. the pictured rings for sale look nothing alike to the ones in the pic with Morribble.

also Elphie T: you always come off as rude and you always say " sorry it sounded bad" its because it was bad. You dont always have to correct peoples grammar...so please try to think before u diss your fellow "WoO family" it makes u look bad.... we are all here to share our Wicked love, and other hobbies....nothing else. i'm aware u apologized and im happy we are all at an agreement. i just hate negativity on here, this is one of the NICEST forums around and i really want to see it stay that way. the members are always nice and helpful

but back on topic

Ebay is full of fake things from Broadway..... alot of Auction things from b-way are on there now but i'm not sure what to think of them.

Always? Wow, I guess I'm blind and/or stupid because I haven't seen anything rude in his posts (including in this thread) and I certainly haven't seen "sorry it sounded bad" in every post he's ever made. I find Elphie T's honesty and intelligence refreshing. Some people just don't have much tolerance for bullshit. I certainly don't, and I'm glad there are a few others on WoO who feel the same.

wow really? this is what i mean by WoO being a nice place dry.gif
the way i wrote it was in a personal manner. bashing someone w/o knowing if theres a problem with them or if they are from a different country and dont have great grammar is just not thinking about others. which a forum should have....thinking of others and the way they post. it can hurt someone.

im just saying a few times i have said something and they have replied to me rudely, it was twice i said something and i had the same outcome, when it involves u personally its annoying, to see it happen to others is sad. The only thing i want to get from this is that when i joined in '07 everyone was so amazing to me, so nice. i really want others to have the same experience as when i joined. People and forums change which is natural, and will happen no matter what. Having a "nice" Friendly" area to share hobbies such as WoO is, in my opinion an accomplishment, even if we all dont get along we are still part of a "family" so we should act as one.

I believe this was resolved well over a month ago. There was no need to bring it up again. While I did correct him, I most certainly did not bash him. The only reason I pointed out his grammar was to try to help make the board more user-friendly. It's common courtesy on a forum like this one to make one's post legible by using proper grammar. I'm sorry if our viewpoints clash, but I stand by my posts. (and thanks for the support, Jess) biggrin.gif

^ just trying to keep a friendly forum. YOU wont hear from me again. wink.gif

I'm with ElphieT. It's always nice to see some intelligence on these boards - one doesn't hold out much hope any more, so when it comes along, it's a very pleasant surprise.

Having a friendly forum is important, but so is doing your best to have proper grammar and spelling. This isn't a personal IM with your friends. People from all over the world can visit a forum, and it helps people who don't know English as their first language.

I often visit a Russian forum about royalty. I can read a little of it, but often I need the help of a translator. It would be useless if people weren't clear and used chat speak, wouldn't it?
DefyingGravity1991
i agree with the understanding part of it all. also a forum isn't "Attractive" to new people if the current users are not friendly, which u also agreed with haha
i'm also thinking that this should be in the "feedback" areas....
